The Ladies Man

The last six weeks have gone by so fast. It feels like just yesterday Ashley proposed to me. Today I’m standing in a church getting ready to marry him. I couldn’t believe how quickly everything was arranged. We were getting married in a small church with just close friends and family. I think we might have the smallest wedding ever. I think the grand total including the minister is fifteen people. Three weeks ago, Juliet and Madison took me out to buy a wedding dress. I got a really nice maternity dress since my stomach is so huge now. I felt slightly ridiculous trying the dresses on, but once I found this one I was so happy about it. I got it in a dark blue; one thing I’ve known since childhood is that I had no desire to ever get married in a white dress.
“You look so beautiful.” Juliet said.
“Yeah, you’re gorgeous Belle.” Madison said.
I blushed. “Guys, don’t. I feel so strange.” I lifted the dress and tried to move it. It was loose, but still felt awkward over my stomach. I felt one of the babies kick.
“Well, you look great anyway.” Juliet said, squeezing my shoulders.
“I still can’t believe you guys had this whole thing planned out.” I said.
“Yes, well we all knew you’d say yes.” Madison said.
“And you had to get married before the twins came. If we waited until after, you guys wouldn’t be married for months, possibly years.” Juliet added.
“I’m just glad it’s a small custom wedding. No huge crowds, not crazy expensive, I don’t have to wear a white dress and I get to choose what I walk down the aisle to.” I smiled. This was my dream wedding.
They both laughed.
“What? The wedding march is to depressing and a white dress would just make me paranoid that I would get something on it.” I defended.
“You are so unique Belle.” Juliet said.
“Yeah, unique enough for Ashley.” Madison added.
I looked in the mirror one more time. I was getting married today.

Ashley’s POV:

“There.” Jinxx said. He stepped back after fixing my bow tie.
“Do I still look like an idiot?” I asked, turning to Andy, CC and Jake.
“Not really, if you forget the fact that you’re wearing an all black suit.” Andy said. He patted me on the back. “This is big Ashley. I still can’t believe we’re here for your wedding.”
“I know, neither can I.” I replied. “I’m going to be a father in a little over a month and in a few hours I’m going to be a husband.”
“All good things.” CC said.
“Yeah, especially when your wife is Belle. She’s amazing Ashley.” Jake said. “How’d you get her again?” He said jokingly.
I laughed along with the guys, but deep down, I wasn’t really sure. I could trace our relationship back to when we first met, but how a girl like her fell for a guy like me, I had no idea. I just thank whatever God is up there that she did.
“It’s time, come on Ashley.” Andy said, leading me into the church.

Belle’s POV:

“All right Belle, let’s go.” Madison said.
I followed her to the back of the church where the doors were open, waiting for us. The song ‘Going to the Chapel’ started and Madison walked down the aisle ahead of me. I clung to my bouquet of white lilies like they were a lifeline. I eventually reached the front of the church where Ashley was smiling at me. I handed Madison the bouquet of flowers and took Ashley’s hand. The service wasn’t too long and the minister finally got to the important part.
“Do you Ashley Abrocket Purdy take Belle Marie Samuels to be your lawful wedded wife, in sickness and in health, til death do you part?” He aked.
“I do.” Ashley replied.
“Do you Belle Marie Samuels take Ashley Abrocket Purdy to be your lawful wedded husband, in sickness and in health, til death do you part?”
“I do.” I said.
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Ashley leaned down and pulled me into a kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck and just enjoyed the moment. I could hear the cheering coming from our friends. Ashley took my hand and we walked out of the church together.

We were at a small hall for the reception. After Madison and Andy gave their speeches, we went out onto the dance floor for our first dance as husband and wife. I chose it; the song was ‘Storybook Love’ from The Princess Bride. Once the song ended ‘Rebel Love Song’ started and all our friends joined us in the dancing. Later someone brought out the cake. It was very basic, chocolate with white icing. On the top it had the Black Veil Brides logo. I made sure that was a part of the cake. I knew this was a family and I was now officially married into it.

It was late and Ashley and I were just getting home. We slowly made our way up to our bedroom and Ashley just held me in his arms.
“Belle, I’m so happy.” He whispered in my ear.
“I am too Ashley.” I kissed him, pulling him close to me. I started to drag him towards the bed. He momentarily stopped me, pulling away.
“Are you sure?” He asked, looking down at my stomach.
“Yes, now come here.” I said.
He complied, coming up behind me and unzipping my dress. He slid it off my shoulders and let it fall to the floor. He started taking off his own clothes while I got rid of my underwear, climbing on the bed to wait for him. He followed me over and climbed on top of me.
“Ashley, make love to me.” I said, reminding myself of our first night together.
“Anything for you Belle.” He leaned down and kissed me.
