Beautiful Remains

I! Didn't! See! Any! Thing!

-----ASHLEY'S POV-----

A drive-in...that seems like a perfect date right? Nicole has never been to one in her whole life so I figured it’d be a nice thing for her to experience. No, I’m not going to be a perv like everyone else who comes to drive-ins. We decided on seeing The Expendables, a suggestion of Andy’s.

“Hey, you want to go to the concession stand to get some popcorn or something?” I asked sweetly.
“Sure,” she smiled, grabbing her wallet.
“I’ll pay for it babe.”
“You sure? I honestly don’t mind.”
“Tonight's all about you...let me worry about the money which I kind of don’t have to worry.”
“Oh yeah, I almost forgot you were a rockstar.”
“How?”
“Because you don’t act like the others that I’ve met.”

-----TIME LAPSE-----

“It’s been an hour!” Nicole groaned.
“I know, when’s the fucking movie going to start?!"

The sun has already gone down and the movie should have begun an hour ago. I guess they had new guys working the projection screens because it never takes them this long. Bored out of my mind, I turned on the radio and rolled up the windows. Situations by Escape The Fate came on the radio and Nicole seemed to like it.

Suddenly, her hand came to rest on my thigh and slowly worked its way closer to my crotch, however she stopped before she reached it. My nerves were on edge because, even though we’re engaged...I don’t want anything to happen if she decides to leave me. My thoughts were instantly sling shot out the window as a pair of lips pressed upon the nape of my neck. Almost immediately she moved us both to the back seat.

-----ANDY’S POV-----

“Where’s Ash?” I asked Jake.
“I don’t know, man,” he shrugged. “Look for his Yukon.”
“Yeah like that helps, there’s like 60 here!”
“Sorry, just trying to help.”

I chuckled at Jake’s bro-punch and, nervously playing with my hair, continued looking. I passed rows and rows of Yukons and Lamborghinis, all cars that Ashley had stored in his parking garage, and never found him. Suddenly, I heard my best bud Ronnie Radke’s voice singing Situations. I just then remembered Kaitie telling me how much Nicole loved the song.

I followed the sound of Ronnie’s voice and lip synced as I drew closer and closer to the sound. Then, out of nowhere, I found Ashley’s Yukon on the far left of the parking spots all by itself. However, as I approached the vehicle, I came to realize that nobody was in the front seats and I couldn’t really see in the back ones because he had those windows tinted. So, swallowing my fear of what might be going on, I worked up the courage to open the back door.

“Dude!” Ash screamed.
“I! Didn’t! See! Any! Thing!” I shouted, covering my eyes.
“Then shut the fucking door!”
“Just checking to make sure everything was alright,” I replied, closing the door and walking off.

Thank God I made sure my eyes would have been looking at the floor when I opened that door, I don’t know what I might have seen. All I could really see was two shirts on the floor and a belt. I shook my head and shuddered trying to rid myself of the image and went to find Jake.

“You see anything?” he asked.
“I didn’t see anything!” I screamed.
“Chill dude, maybe Ashley left early.”

-----ASHLEY’S POV-----

And I thought the lead singer of a band was supposed to be great at timing but apparently I was wrong. Thank you so fucking much Andy for opening the fucking back door. I rolled my eyes and handed Nicole her shirt. I then slightly chuckled at her adorable face as I noticed there was a hint of red on each cheek.

Climbing back into the front seat, I asked if she wanted to leave because the movie STILL HASN’T PLAYED. She nodded and I drove off. On the way home, I decided to stop by a clearing close to our house. I pulled the car over, turned it off, and climbed out to open the door for her. Wanting to be...I guess you could say a show-off, I slid across the hood of my truck and rolled off, landing on my feet, to open the door. But when I opened her door...I hit myself in the face.

“Oh my God,” she laughed.
“We never mention that,” I laughed back.
“You know I’m going to tell Kaitie anyways.”
“Yeah...I know,” I blushed.
“Awe, are you embarrassed? You’re blushing!”
“A little bit,” I chuckled.
“Well it’s okay. I’m sure after a few more months with me that you’ll realize I’m way more clumsy.”

I smiled and, taking her hand, lead her to the clearing I saw in a meadow. I removed my leather jacket and lay it down for her then came to lay beside her. When she asked what we were doing, I actually chuckled and pulled a folded piece of paper from my pocket.

“What’s that?” she asked, confused.
“I ugh...I named a star after you.”

She was silent and, worried that she didn’t want that kind of a gift, I looked to see her facial expression. Nothing but pure joy filled those gorgeous eyes of hers. Those gorgeous green eyes with grey streaks mixed with blue and golden flecks towards the center. I smiled from ear to ear and placed a gentle kiss upon her forehead as we watched the second brightest star, which is the one I named after her, glow with its radiant whitish yellow light.
