Sink Your Teeth Into Forever

Chapter 47

Ashley's POV
At first things went well while CC was trying to make lift the golf cart, the sand bags, as well as Johnny, and Ian. Then it started tilting, and Ian started to fall out. You see CC could have lifted all of that weight without a problem at all, if all of that weight could have been put into a small crate with handles. The problem was that the sheer size of the structure was too much for him to balance and control. Long story short it started to tilt and CC couldn't stop it from doing so. He realized his mistake fairly quickly, but not quickly enough. Ian slipped right out of the silky front seat and onto the ground, with a sickening crack as he tried to catch himself with his arm. Johnny was still in the cart, but struggling to remain there and the cart was continuing to lean. I sprinted forward and grabbed Ian, pulling him out of the way if CC where to drop the cart.
"CC You gotta put that thing down, before someone else gets hurt," Andy yelled.
"I have to drop it, but I don't want to do that with Johnny in there," CC said back, I could here the strain in his voice.
"Johnny, you gotta jump down from there, it's not too high," Andy said. I watched as Johnny slid downward towards the drivers side of the cart. CC was starting to tremble with the effort of holding the thing. Johnny jumped the six and a half feet from the cab of the cart to the ground. He caught himself without much trouble and stumbled out of the danger zone. The next question soon came to mind. How was CC going to get himself out from under the cart without getting crushed? He was clearly trying to figure out the answer to that question.
"CC what are you thinking?" Jinxx asked.
"I'm thinking that you all should back up and cover your ears," He said. It hit me what he was going to try and do, he was going to try to throw it and get out from under it before it could crush him. Jinxx figured that out too.
"Hang on buddy, before you do that I want to try something first," Jinxx said. CC nodded, but he was trembling more, and visibly starting to sweat.
Jinxx's POV
I took a step forward to do something that I was surprised I hadn't thought of sooner. I gestured upwards harshly and I felt the very rock at the ocean floor obey me. Two columns or rock arose from the ground on either side of CC underneath the cart. They lifted up to the cart and took the weight off of CC's hands with as much balance as I could manage. He gingerly pulled his hands away to make sure that nothing was going to fall. Once he was certain of the stability of the contraption he quickly darted out from under it. I lowered the sea rocks back down to where they belonged and the carts came down with them and rested gently on the ground.
I felt a wave of relief wash over me. No one got hurt. Then I heard a groan of pain from behind me. I had totally forgotten, the crack when Ian had landed on the ground.
We all turned to see him sitting on the ground behind us. He was pale and sweaty, he probably would have blacked out if it weren't for the fact that he was already sitting. He cradled his left arm to his chest.
"I-i-i t-t-think it's b-broken," he stammered out. He was the picture of someone going into shock.
"I'll call for the infirmary," Jane said, grabbing for the pager that was clipped to her belt loop.
"No you don't need to do that. I happen to be able to heal people," Ashley said holding up a comforting hand to her.
"Are you serious?" She said staring him down in shock.
"Yeah, give me a minute and a half and he'll be fine," Ash said kneeling down next to Ian.
"Is this gonna hurt?" Ian asked.
"Let me see it," Ash said. He gently took the injured arm in his hands and looked at it for a moment.
"No, it won't hurt, the bone isn't out of place or anything so all you should feel is the pain fading," Ash said. With that he took a hold of the arm with one hand and lifted his other hand up above it. I'd seen him heal people like that before, but it never ceased to blow my mind. I watched the golden mist curl from the tips of Ashley's fingers, and in seconds the fracture was healed and Ian had his fully functional arm back. Jane looked from person to person, thinking.
"You guys don't realize how much good you could do for society do you?"
