Sink Your Teeth Into Forever

Ivy's POV
We were all sitting around the table eating mountains of slightly overcooked spaghetti. I was hungry after the days ordeals, and the food was delicious. The conversation was flowing freely throughout the table, people talking and laughing. I was the only one not talking, glad that the conversation was not directed towards me. I was quiet for two reasons. One of those reasons was that I was bad at making friends. Although everyone here had been nothing but nice and accepting of me, after Andy's little freakout that is. I was still extremely shy. To make it worse they all already knew each other and were enjoying sharing stories and inside jokes that I didn't understand. The second reason that I was being so quiet was my own emotions. I was still feeling guilt and anxiety over my situation. I felt like it was completely my fault that they were even in this position in the first place. Not to mention that I was essentially kidnapped when I was brought here. I wasn't completely trusting everyone yet. I think that Andy some how knew of my discomfort because he kept glancing over at me like he wanted to say something. It must have been obvious how quiet I was because about halfway through the meal Jinxx elbowed me.
"Hey you've been pretty quiet, what's up?" He said quietly.
"How can you all be so relaxed when your friend is in danger?" I asked, and he smiled.
"Ash might be a total idiot sometimes, but he really can take care of himself. We're all sure that he'll be fine for a few days, at least until we figure out how to get him back," Jinxx said placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"Ash can take care of himself, but can you take care of yourself?" CC said, it took me a moment to realize that he was talking about me.
"What do you mean?" I said confused, they weren't just planning to kick me out on the streets were they?
" You know how to fight?" CC asked. I'd never learned to fight before, never had a reason.
"Uh... No?" I said, still confused.
"Then let me teach you," he said with a smile. I began to protest when Andy cut in.
"Ivy, given what happened to us today it might not be a bad idea for you to know how to defend yourself," he said. I knew in the back of my mind that he was probably right, but it didn't make me anymore comfortable with the idea. CC was clearly incredibly strong, you could tell just by looking at the way he touched people that he could tear someone apart with no problems at all. It gave me some hope that he seemed to be a very friendly guy with a gentleness towards all living things, but I had my doubts.
"Well then it's settled after dinner I will teach Ivy how to fight," CC said with an enthusiastic clap. He must have seen my face because he quickly added a supposedly comforting line.
" Don't worry sweetheart, when we're done you will still have all of your appendages and your face will not be rearranged. Everything will work how it should in your body, I promise," when he finished everyone laughed.
"That all better be true, because if you hurt that girl you will wake up in the morning in a hospital very confused," Ella said, and once again everyone laughed at her half serious threat. I felt a bit better that I had a tough, british lady on my side, but. I had a feeling that me learning to fight would be quite an ordeal.
