Angel Eyes

Jinxx's POV

I had been living with Jake for a week now, he was my anchor at the moment. The only thing stopping me from drifting away.

"Hey Jinxx." I looked up at Jake, "money for your thoughts." He grinned.

"You'd be rich." I smiled.

"What's up dude?" He sat facing me on the couch.

I sighed, "I dunno. I'm trying to figure out why the whole Sammi thing hasn't affected me as much as I thought it would, It doesn't feel like my heart is broken. We were drifting apart though, I barely kissed her anymore and we hardly spoke. If we did then it would turn into an argument. What happened!?" I buried my head into my hands.

Jake's arm draped around my neck, "it's something you can't control dude. Your feelings are impossible to predict. They even trick you into thinking your in love, I should know." He trailed off.

I turned to him confused, "what do you mean?"

He sighed, "I guess things are fizzling out between Ella and I. It might be nothing, just a phase but I feel differently about her. I care about her so much but I'm just not attracted to her anymore." He looked at the floor in disappointment, "sorry Jinxx, we are meant to be talking about you now. Not me."

I shook my head, "I don't want to talk about myself, if something is wrong Jake then we should talk about it." To be honest the thing with Sammi was more of a relief. I just wish it ended differently.

He looked up into my eyes and sympathy burned inside me for his big brown eyes, he looked so lost. So lonely, "I think I have feelings for someone else and I don't know what to do."

I placed my hand on his shoulder, "dude these are the kind of things you can take advice for but ultimately you need to make your own decision." I patted his shoulder gently.

"So what would you do?"

I thought about it for a while, "well I wouldn't want to lie to Ella, if I knew that these feelings aren't just a phase then I would break up with her. The longer we are together then the more she gets hurt. I am happier because I'm not hiding anything and she will eventually understand that I was just trying to spare her feelings."

He looked at me and his eyes became wet, "I'm really gonna have to do this aren't I?"

I wrapped my other arm around him and squeezed him into a hug, "only if you feel it's the right thing to do. I might be wrong and you could just be going through a phase, then you just need sometime to think."

Jake fought his tears. They didn't fall but I heard him sniff a little, "thanks man, this is why you're my best friend."

"Huh!?" I half smiled. "Cause you're the best." I felt him smile against my chest.

"And you are the best hugger!" I grinned.
