Just an Ashley Love story

Chapter 5

Christine’s POV
We entered the café, he asked to be seated in the back corner booth so we could have a little more privacy. The waitress took our order. I ordered the chicken salad, and a cup of french vanilla coffee. He wound up ordering the same. As we waited we talked, about who we were, what we do. He seemed pretty impressed that I build choppers and custom cars. Most men look at me with disgust because “that’s a man’s job”. He explained that he was a fashion designer, and then he said the last thing I ever expected to hear.

“I’m also the Bassist for a L.A. based band called Black Veil Brides.”

With the way he shrunk back, you would have thought I grew fangs that spewed venom. Did he expect me to jump on him and maul him?

“Relax Ashley, I’m not going to freak out. I’m not the fan girl type.” He seemed to breathe a bit easier at this but he still had his guard up. “Besides, I’m not usually one for watching MTV or listening to the radio. I’ll be honest, I don’t know if I’ve ever even heard one of your songs.”
He looked at me, quizzically at first. Trying to size up if I was telling the truth or not. Then he really seemed to relax.

“So you’ve really never heard of us?”

“Like I said, I might have heard a song or two of yours on the radio. But I don’t pay attention enough to who’s playing the song when they announce the band after it plays. I’m usually so busy between the farm, lessons, training horses, building bikes and cars. I don’t watch much TV. I will say this though, it caught me off guard but I kinda had a feeling you were a rock star from the moment I ran into you.”

After I said this, the waitress walked up with our food. She looked at me like she wanted to bite my head off, then turned to him and with all the control she had in her tiny little body, she quietly asked him for his autograph, telling him how much she loved him and the band, and how their music saved her life. “I’m really gunna have to listen to their music. Just to see what this girl was talking about,” I thought to myself.

He signed the piece of paper, and thanked her. Stood up and gave her a hug. She lost all control and started crying. After she walked away, I looked at him in awe. This girl just told him that the music he plays saved her life. And he accepted it with compassion and thanks, but also as though he’s heard this before. What am I missing? He saw my stare, and blushed, looking back down at his lunch. When he looked back up at me, I was smiling, feeling more humbled than I have in a while. He smiled back.

We ate and we chatted for, what didn’t seem like long, but wound up being the better part of 4 hours. When we realized the time, he paid for our lunch and we walked out the door. We had a lot in common, and we found that we were comfortable with talking to each other.
We stopped at my car, and I turned to him.

Ashley’s POV
I’m enjoying my time with Christine too much to let our day end here. When we got to her car and she turned to me, she had that look like she felt the same. I couldn't let her go, not just yet.

“Would you like to take a walk down near the beach?”

“I’d really like that.”

And there was that smile again. So genuine. So, I dunno, sexy.

“It’s not a far drive from here. If you want you can follow me so you don’t have to leave your car here.”

“That sounds good. I wouldn’t want anything to happen to this car. She was my first build and is kinda my baby. I only took her out because my truck doesn’t fit in these spaces very well.”

“Okay, we’re gunna pull out and head straight, about 4 or 5 blocks down we’ll make a left, and its straight on from there.” I don’t want her to get lost, not like it would be easy to. But I want to keep her as close to me as possible. I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, and ran to my car. Waited for an opening large enough for us both to pull into and headed out. I feel like a teenager again.

Christine’s POV
A walk on the beach, sounds kind of cliché but romantic at the same time. And that kiss on the cheek did me in. I don’t know what to expect but I really can’t help to feel that maybe, just maybe, this could go somewhere. I don’t care that he’s a rock star. That never made a difference to me. Unless your John Lennon back from the dead, I’d never freak out. But who knows. He’s the only rock star I know. Now if only I could keep my hormones under control.

I followed close behind him, in his black dodge charger, watching him watch me in the review. He kept looking back at me, almost as if he were expecting me to run off. He looked back so much that he almost blew through a red light. He saw me laughing at him, and in the mirror I saw him laughing too. Goofball.

We arrived at the beach, and headed down what I guess they would consider a boardwalk?? Being from Jersey, I’m used to a BOARDwalk. You know, everything made from wood. This was solid concrete, but it didn’t take away from the beauty of the place.

He took my hand and we walked, in comfortable silence, with the occasional explanation from him, of what is what about the local businesses. I’ve only lived here for a short time, but I’m always so busy. I don’t get out very often so I don’t really know the area.

I kept glancing over, taking in every feature of him I could absorb. His hair was black and perfect. His eyes, stood out. The black eyeliner helps I’m sure. I’ve never been one to like a guy that wears make up but he wears it well. The lines of his face, are strong and sharp. Especially his jaw line. What I wouldn’t do to get the chance to nibble from his ear, down his jaw and up to his lips.

The sun started setting, I never knew a day could fly by so fast. We head back in the direction of the cars. A bench not too far from where we parked is where we sat. He held tight to my hand.

“Sit with me, just til the sun sets. I’ve never really gotten a chance to watch the sun set over the water.” East coasters only get to watch the sun rise over the water.

He didn’t say anything, just smiled and held my hand tighter. We watched the sun set. It was perfect, this whole day was perfect. As the last of the color faded from the sky we stood up, and walked towards the cars. He stopped me short as we got close to my door.

He looked down, like he was internally fighting with himself on what to do or say. Finally when he looked up, he leaned in, put his hand to my cheek and kissed me. Just a quick but gentle kiss at first, testing the waters and seeing what I would do. I leaned in and deepened the kiss, wrapping my hands around the back of his head and neck pulling him in closer to me. He left his hand on my cheek while the other grabbed at my hip, pulling me tight against him and reaching around my lover back to hold me as close as possible.

The kiss had passion, never in my years of dating, have I experienced something so deep. The head rush strong enough to weaken my knees and almost make me faint. He felt it too. He took is hand off my cheek to help brace us as he leaned me against the driver door. I wrapped my arms completely around his neck, willing him not to stop, not yet. He pressed his hips forward and I could feel the effect I was having on him. I feel the warm rush from my center find its way down between my legs and I become so wet.

His tongue brushed my lips seeking entrance into my mouth. I parted my lips enough to give him the access he wanted. Our breathing became heavy, and I nibbled on his lower lip, causing a small moan to escape from him. Then he pulled away. He closed his eyes, rested his forehead against mine with our noses touching. Completely lost in the moment and out of breath.
When we finally had some composure, he spoke:

“I really like you. And as much as I don’t want to stop, and I really, really don’t want to stop, we have to. I don’t want to rush this. I want to do this right. I want to treat you right, the way you deserve. I want you to know that this is more than just some childish fling.”

“I like you a lot too, Ash. You’re right, we should do this right, keep it slow. Whatever this is between us is not something I want to ruin.”

He smiled, big, the kid at Christmas smile again, and it was completely contagious.

“I’ll text you tomorrow, if that’s alright. We can compare schedules and figure out our second date if that’s alright with you.”

I laughed at him, both our schedules are so hectic, but he seemed determined to make this work.

“I’ll be waiting for your text Mr. Purdy.”

And with one last kiss goodbye, I got in my car, and pulled out to head for home with a smile, and feelings I could not shake. Not like I’d want to actually shake them anyway.

This is beautiful. I love the last chapter where it's 20 years later and they're kind of reflecting on everything. It's awesome how you made it seem more of something that would happen in the real world

I loved this story! Well thought out, great plot and great characters! I'm looking forward to seeing your books on the shelves! I think you should try your hand at a demon fanfic. I think you'd do great with that!
