Just an Ashley Love story

Chapter 32
Christine’s POV
I heard everyone shuffling around the house, which woke me up. I was wrapped in Ashley’s arms my back to him. He woke up and squeezed me tight, “I’m not ready, I don’t want to go.”

I wrapped my arms around his. Someone knocked on the door. “Ash, bus will be here in an hour, start getting ready man.” It was Andy.

“I’m already ready, just knock when its here.”

“Will do, see you in a bit.”

“Ash, are you sure you’re ready to go. You just said before you weren’t ready.”

“I’m ready meaning I have all my stuff packed, I’m not ready cuz I don’t want to leave you. All I have to do is get dressed.”

“Don’t you want to take a shower, rinse off all the oil from last night.”

“Only if you come with me.”

“Of course.”

We washed off quick and got out. I looked at the clock. Half hour left. My heart dropped. What am I going to do without him here? I’m not ready for him to walk out that door. My breath fluttered and tears threatened to fall. Ash noticed and held me close, “Not yet baby, don’t cry yet.”

I steadied myself and got dressed, we walked out of the bedroom with all his stuff in tow, placing it by the door. I looked around at everyone. Andy and Juliet are holding hands at the table, having coffee. Jake and Ella are sitting on the couch in each other’s arms watching the news. CC and Valerie are making out in the corner of the room. I laughed. Then there was Jinxx and Angel. Angel’s eyes are swollen and puffy, from crying all night, much like mine. She and I were the only ones not used to having to say goodbye. 2 months may not seem that long, until you’re not going to see the one you love. I give so much credit to people who have a spouse in the military. I could not do what they do.

Ashley brought me a cup of coffee and wrapped his arm around me. Looking back at Angel and Jinxx, they were both crying. I had to look away, my heart was breaking.

Trying to lighten the mood, even for a moment, I made a quick decision. “Hey everyone, I have an idea for when you guys come back.”

Everyone looked at me. “Well, it involves Andy, Jake and CC mostly. The jockey’s quarters I have on the property are small one bedroom apartment like houses. If you want, while you’re away, I can have them set up, and you and your girls can move in there. They have separate addresses, so you can get the utilities you want. I won’t charge you rent, but you have to take care of the bills yourself. It’ll get you out of the main house, and make it feel more like your own. There is a private road off the main road that gets to them. And the backyards butt up right to the main property.”

Andy spoke up first, “that would be awesome. We wouldn’t have to worry about trying to find a place for a month to month basis when we come back. We’d actually have a place to call home.”

CC was next, “Hell yeah dude. Thanks.”

Jake just shrugged his shoulders and said, “Sounds good.”

“Alright then, while you boys are away, the girls and I will get them set up.”

Ashley pulled me in for a kiss, “You are absolutely amazing.”

We kissed deeply, I never wanted to stop, never wanted to let him go.

I heard it before I saw it, the sound of a large vehicle coming up the gravel driveway. I looked out the window and a large van was pulling up. My heart sunk and my stomach leapt into my throat. I swallowed hard, fighting back the tears. I heard angel start bawling, Jinxx did everything he could to hold her up from hitting the ground.
Andy and the others, walked outside with their stuff, girlfriends behind them, all of them with tears in their eyes.

Jake turned to the four of us and said, “We’ll give you some time. Jinxx, Ash, I’ll get your stuff on the van for you.”

Ashley smiled at him in thanks and turned to me. “I wish I didn’t have to go. All I want to do is stay here with you and have everything continue being the ways it’s been.”

I couldn’t hold back anymore. I covered my face with my hands and cried. “What am I going to do here without you? I’m going to feel lost, I already feel lost.”

He pulled my hands away from my face and wrapped them around his neck. He pulled me close for one more kiss. His face wet from his own tears. “I love you Christine, with every part of my being. Its only two months. We’ll be ok. I promise we’ll be ok. I’ll call every chance I get, and you need to download skype so we can video chat while I’m at the venues.”

I couldn’t talk, I just shook my head, sniffling. He took my hand and we followed Jinxx and Angel out the door. The manager was walking up to us. “Hi Christine, don’t worry, I promise I’ll take good care of all of them.” He shook my hand then looked at the boys, “You ready to go?”

Jinxx shook his head, “No, for once I’m not, but I can’t disappoint the fans, right?” He turned around and kissed Angel one more time, “I love you, and I’ll be back soon.” He turned and walked to the bus.

Angel ran inside. Ashley kissed my forehead, “I love you Christine, I’ll call you when I land.” Then kissed me gently on the lips.

“I love you to Ash.”

Ashley’s POV
I watched Christine from the window of the van as we pulled away. My heart broke. Tears were steadily streaming down my face. I looked over at Jinxx, he was having a hard time too. I don’t even think I saw him this upset when he and Sammi called it off. I put my hand on his should, squeezed and shook him gently. “We’ll be ok.”

“I know Ash, it’s just so hard. I really connected with her. More so than anyone I have before. More than with Sammi. Angel is something special. And it’s tearing me apart having to be away from her.”

“Trust me Jinxx, I know. I understand exactly how you feel. I can’t live without her, so just being away from her is breaking my heart to pieces.”

He shook his head at me with a weak smile.

“Listen you two,” Andy said, “Its rough now, but it gets easier over time. I promise you. If Juliet and I can do it, you two can. The both of you have something special with Christine and Angel. Hell we all do. Christine has completely taken us under her wing to make sure we always have a home to come back to. She has become part of this family. We all know our girls will be well taken care of there and have nothing to worry about. It breaks all of our hearts to leave there.”

A unified “Yeah” came from the rest of them.

I chuckled “She really is amazing, isn’t she.” Everyone shook their heads, and I started coming up with a plan.
