Just an Ashley Love story

Christine’s POV
Its December 23, the boys leave tomorrow for their overseas tour. I’m a mess. I’m trying everything I can, not to cry. Ash isn’t very happy either. He’s barely spoken to anyone, even me. He’s been at the barn with me all day, just quietly sticking by my side, sneaking a kiss where he can and then looking back at the floor.

We’re going to celebrate Christmas tonight with everyone being they won’t be here for it. I have a huge turkey in the oven with all the trimmings and every side possible, plus beef stew in the huge slow cooker I had to buy in order to keep these boys fed. My food bill has gone up dramatically since they moved in. They pitch in but it never seems to be enough. I still don’t mind. We’ve become a large family and I love it.

When we got done at the barn, we walked, silently hand in hand back to the house. Everyone was drinking beer and trying to keep the mood light but spirits weren’t high. Jinxx and Angel stayed cuddled close in the corner of the room on the big couch. Soaking up every moment they could with each other. No one wanted to say goodbye.
I got the turkey out of the oven, mashed the potatoes made the gravy. I put everything on the table. “Dinner!”

CC bolted up out of his chair, with as skinny as he is, that boy can eat!! I laughed as well as everyone else.

“CC, make sure you leave enough for the other people that want to eat too.”

“I can’t help it Jersey, your cooking is out of this world!!”

Andy laughed and told CC, “She’s the only one that’s ever gotten me to eat vegetables and enjoy them.”

Ash just hugged to my side and smiled. I laughed out loud and he looked at me. “With the way you just walked up to me and hugged me, it’s almost like we’re their parents looking over them.”

He huffed making everyone laugh.

I do not want tomorrow to come.

Ashley’s POV
Dinner was full of talk and laughter. Making our day feel a little bit better. We later exchanged presents, mostly gag gifts, having all of us in tears from laughter. It’s the first time all night we really felt better.

Christine gave me a look and said, “as much as I’m having fun with all of you. Its time for me and Ash to, you know, go to bed.”

Everyone stopped and looked at us. I blushed probably 30 shades of red. Jinxx and Angel said, “Us too!!”

We all laughed. Christine grabbed my hand and stood me up saying goodnight to everyone as she walked us to the bedroom. She had something planned and I was about to find out!
