My Prophet

You Have Too

I woke up to Coralie moving on my chest. We hadn't moved all night. Really we hadn't moved since six yesterday when I came in the bunk with her. We were still wearing the same clothes, we hadn't eaten since yesterday. She was so sad all she did was cry and I held her, feeling awful for what I had said.

I heard a soft sigh on my chest and looked down. Coralie was awake and looking up at me. Her makeup was scattered across her face and I licked my thumb to wipe some of it away. She sighed again and I glanced at the clock. It was already ten and I had to check the schedule and see when we played today.

"Morning." I mumbled, softly kissing her cheek.

"Hey." She said, burying her face in my chest. I rubbed her back, soothingly.

"I know you don't want to talk about this, babe, but when is the funeral?" I asked. She sighed heavily.

"It's in a few days, back in Florida." She said, sadly. I bit my lip, we were in Vegas today. We wouldn't be near Florida until August. Unless she flew out today she couldn't make it, and we just didn't have the money, even put together. "I'm not going. I won't leave you, plus I'm just not in the mood to see my family. I only need you." I sighed and put my hands on her ribs.

"I know that's not why, babe." I said, tilting her chin up so she'd look in my eyes. Tears pushed to her own and she looked down. "I know you've seen our bank account, we share one. Once the tour is over I'll get paid and you can dance again so maybe you can fly back home and visit his grave or something-"

"Andy that's not it, my mom offered to pay for the flight.."

"That's great! You can go home and meet us back on tour!" I exclaimed.

"I don't want her money.." She shook her head, "They carried me my whole life and I refuse to take a flight from her! It would cost a thousand dollars for two flights there and back. I don't want her to spend that kind of money on me." I hugged her closer to me and kissed her cheek.

"I wish those rumors about how I make millions of dollars were true." I said, chuckling lightly. She smiled and ran a thumb under my eye.

"I wouldn't care if you were a homeless guy on the street, I'd still marry you." She put both her hands on my cheeks and kissed me. I curled my hands around her wrists and deepened the kiss. I shoved my tongue in her mouth and her breath hitched.

Suddenly, a few loud knocks on our bunk, startled us from the kiss, "Hey I don't know what's wrong with you two, but we're playing today at eleven fifteen so get the hell out of bed." Ashley grumbled. I looked at her apologetically and kissed her nose. We slid out of the bunk and I grabbed her hand. We walked into the kitchen, seeing Jinxx, Jake, Sammi, and Ella all in the booth.

"Any coffee left?" I asked.

"No, there is a Starbucks across the street though." Jinxx said. "Where did you two disappear last night?"

"We just stayed in our bunk." I mumbled.

"Where did Corrie go?" Ella asked.

"I wasn't feeling too well." Coralie said, softly.

"Oh I'm sorry!" Ella smiled.

"Let's go change, and then we can grab some breakfast." I said, pulling her softly back to the lounge. I grabbed our bags and put them out on the couch. I grabbed a pair of skinny jeans and my black suspenders. I threw them on and tightened my brace before walking in the bathroom and applying a little makeup. Not nearly as much as usually but it was too hot. I did smear a little char on my body, though. I brushed my teeth quickly and moved so Corrie could use the bathroom.

She had changed and now was in a pair of black torn up leggings and a Rise Against shirt. She had thrown her backstage pass around her neck and was now putting on makeup. I stood in the doorway watching her and she chuckled, before running our straightner though her hair. Yes, we share one.

Once she was finished she hugged me quickly and grabbed my hand, "Ready?" She nodded and we set off towards Starbucks.

I know the feeling. My stories from two years ago on here are just cringe-worthy in my opinion. But I definitely can relate to the your main character already just because of the the dance aspect. Kind of reminds me of my series "The Mortician's Daughter/Lost It All" and "Wretched and Divine/Ohio Is For Lovers" Those two series are dance related which are my favorite types of stories to write

Awh thanks! This is one of my older stories so I personally believe the quality isn't as good as some of my more recent ones but thank you!

Just finished chapter one and already digging it! Can't wait to continue reading it!
