My Prophet

Redefining

I settled back into the tiny velvet seat. I had been watching the Nutcracker for about a half an hour, and as much as I didn't want to admit, it was boring me. The only time Corrie had been on stage was during the first seen as a party parent. My parents were sitting beside me, and this was the first time they would meet Coralie.

Finally, the back drop changed to a blue color and the music slowed. Coralie walked out in a gorgeous white and blue costume, Keenan following after.

They seemed to trust each other so much, that she would cleanly jump into his arms with no hesitation. Everything about the way she danced was beautiful. Her arms flowed in perfect lines, and her feet arched perfectly.

Keenan was so strong, and he caught Corrie with ease. They couldn't have been more stunning, and I found myself almost in tears once they finished.

"That was beautiful." My mother whispered, "She is beautiful." I smiled widely at her, and nodded.

The next act went by fast until The Waltz Of The Flowers started. Coralie was the lead flower in this dance and I was looking foward to seeing her dance again. After a minute or so in she came running out. The entire core was a backup to her as she flitted around the stage in her beautiful pink tutu that complimented her tiny figure so well.

Four of the men dancers partnered her as she went down the line. They spun her around and then tossed her in the air. She was smiling so brightly as she exited the stage.

Moments later she ran back on and start turning fastly by herself. The music was getting more and more intense and I looked over to see my mother was crying.

Coralie finished dancing, and took a grand bow. The audience gave her a standing ovation which I could see brought her to tears.

Another partner dance went on, and then the finale started. Coralie danced in the middle only for a little while though, and before I knew the entire cast was taking bows.

The theatre started emptying out, so we all stood up. "Coralie said to meet her backstage." I smiled at my parents, and walked back to Coralie's dressing room.

"Oh hey Mr. Rockstar!" Keenan said. I chuckled.

"Hey Keenan." I said.

"Enjoy the show?" He asked.

"Yeah. Great job!" I exclaimed.

"Thanks!" Keenan said, "Corrie's in there."

"Cool." I said, walking into the door beside him, my parents following. Coralie was sitting in a chair still in her tutu. She glanced up and smiled.

"Hey babe!" She exclaimed, and stood up. She walked over to me, and threw her arms around my neck.

"Hey, you were beautiful." I said kissing her quickly.

"Thanks." She smiled, and pulled away to look at my parents. "Hi Mr. and Mrs. Biersack, I'm Coralie Johnson."

"Oh Mrs. Biersack is my mother dear. Call us Amy and Chris." My mom smiled, and pulled Corrie in for a hug.

"Coralie we're so happy for you and Andy." My dad said.

"Thank you, that means so much." Coralie said, as I pulled her into my side.

"How long have you been a dancer?" My mother asked.

"Seventeen years." Coralie replied, laying her head on my shoulder.

"Holy moly!" My mother exclaimed, "Well it shows. You were gorgeous! I've never really seen a real ballet so that was a real treat."

"Thank you so much." Coralie smiled warmly.

"Babe, want to get dressed, and got out to dinner?" I asked her.

"Yes!" She exclaimed, kissing my cheek. I smirked, excited for what the evening may bring.

I know the feeling. My stories from two years ago on here are just cringe-worthy in my opinion. But I definitely can relate to the your main character already just because of the the dance aspect. Kind of reminds me of my series "The Mortician's Daughter/Lost It All" and "Wretched and Divine/Ohio Is For Lovers" Those two series are dance related which are my favorite types of stories to write
