My Prophet

Dance and leather pants

"That's good Coralie, just point your feet a little harder, please?" My ballet master, Mrs. Jacobs, yelled.
I had been dancing for seventeen years, and every day I fell in love with it more and more. It had been my dream to become a professional dancer for as long as I can remember, and as soon as I graduated high school I made that dream into reality.

I'm now a nineteen year old, 5'7, skinny, pale, prima ballerina sitting top of the shoulder of my partner, and dearest friend, Keenan Stallings.
"Perfect!" Mrs. Jacobs shouted. I smiled loving the feeling of her praise.

The dance finished, and Keenan carefully set me down on my feet.
"That was really good." He said hugging me, and I smiled feeling good about myself.
"Okay dancer's I think that's enough for today-" Mrs. Jacobs was cut off by the opening off the door to the studio.

Two guys stood there, both of them clad in black and leather, with long black hair, but one had blonde streaks running through it. They both were looking at us with shocked expressions.

We rehearse in a public theatre because the corps de ballet takes up so much space in the Los Angeles Ballet theatre. Keenan, and I loved rehearsing here because it usually means a little more privacy from the constant questioning of some of the lower ranked dancers bombard us with whenever we're at the ballet. Like how are you already a prima ballerina when your only nineteen? Why are you so special? Who do you think you are?
Not having many friends throughout the company is a small price to pay for being the star dancer.

The two boys looked at us wearily, "I'm so sorry." The one with blonde in his hair spoke in a deep gruff voice, "Our band is rehearsing here, and we thought you guys were done. We didn't mean to intrude."
"It's not a problem at all, we just finished up." Mrs. Jacobs said putting an arm across my shoulders, motherly like.
"Alright." The guy fluffed his hair in the back.

I grabbed my bag out of the corner of the room while other black hair guys walked into the studio carrying instruments.
"One minute ballet is going on, and then it's a rock show." Keenan muttered in my ear, as we watched them all set up their instruments.
"I know." I said rolling my eyes, at the boys whispering and looking over at me. I noticed one was approaching us. He was shorter, and he had almond shaped eyes.
"Hey baby, I was wondering if you wanted to come back to my place after this." He winked at me, and Keenan scoffed behind me.
"As if honey." Keenan rolled his eyes, and I smirked, at my best friend.
"I know you can't resist my charm." He said holding his arms out to me, and I shook my head.
"I think I'll be okay." I said, sliding my yoga pants on.
"Have it your way." He said shrugging, and retreating back to his group. I picked my bag up.
"Ready to go?" Keenan asked.
"Yes please." I shook my head.
I felt a large hand cover my shoulder, and I whipped my head around to see the the boy with blonde highlights.
"Here to hit on me too?" I asked sarcastically. He looked taken back by my tone, and I crossed my arms over my chest, hearing Keenan sigh loudly.
"No, I actually came to apologize, Ashley tends to be a little..out spoken." He said, in that deep voice.
"Well thanks." I said biting my lip, looking away from him.
"I'm Andy." He said thrusting his hand towards me.
"Coralie." I said, and shook his hand.
"Your name is beautiful like you, who is your friend?" He said winking, and I felt myself blush a bit. I shook myself out of it, realizing he was probably the same as his Ashley friend.
"I'm Keenan, and we need to be leaving." Keenan said looking at me. I nodded.
"Well it was nice meeting you, Andy." I said, and turned away from him.
"Wait, will I see you again?" He asked.
"You'll probably see me around here if you look hard enough." I shrugged as Keenan, and I walked off leaving Andy in my wake.

"What was that?" Keenan asked me once we hopped inside of our Volkswagen Beatle.
"What was what?" I asked.
"When Mr. Rockstar complimented you, you totally blushed." I felt myself blush again.
"It was nothing.."
"Your doing it again right now!" Keenan exclaimed.
"Keenan, he's probably just like that Ashley guy. It's stupid to be even having this conversation right now." I snapped. He held his hands up.
"Alright alright!" He said, "I just think you need to find somebody after what that jerk did to you." I sighed thinking of my ex boyfriend, Lloyd. He was preppy, handsome, and just what a ballet dancer would need in their life. Too bad I found he had been cheating on me the entire year and a half we had been dating.
"That guy was the complete opposite of Lloyd!" I said eyeing Keenan.
"Maybe that's what you need." He shrugged as he pulled into our apartment building.
"I don't think anything is going to come of it." I said unbuckling my seat belt.

Or so I thought...

I know the feeling. My stories from two years ago on here are just cringe-worthy in my opinion. But I definitely can relate to the your main character already just because of the the dance aspect. Kind of reminds me of my series "The Mortician's Daughter/Lost It All" and "Wretched and Divine/Ohio Is For Lovers" Those two series are dance related which are my favorite types of stories to write
