Finding Help
Mother's Words... Or Lack Of
I spent the rest of the afternoon texting Melody, we had talked about past boyfriends, books, and food for a good amount of the time. I had moved to sitting on my bunk since nobody was sitting on the floor with me. It wasn’t until later I had realized I hadn’t talked to my mom in quite a while. Nor had she even tried to contact me to see if I was good well. I decided to send the first text:
‘God why did I send that?????’ I thought.
Mom: Cool doing the same
Me: good
I wasn’t sure how to reply back but it didn’t matter, she never texted back. I mood dropped more and more as time passed. Jake noticed and sat next to me wrapping his arms around me
“You alright little one?” He asked.
“I’m just feeling a little neglected that’s all.” I said laying my head on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry I didn’t know we made you feel neglected!” he started getting worried and his voice rose making the others starting to pay attention.
“No, no you guys are perfect, I was talking about my mom. She has been doing it for a while.”
“Does this normally make you sad?” Jinxx asked from over in his bunk.
“Well duh she doesn’t feel like her mommy loves her.” CC said wrapping his arms around me.
“You are such a DORK!” I told him.
“Am I good at it?” He asked smiling.
“Oh yes.” Jake and I said simultaneously.
“Well then I’m glad I’m good at something.” He said giving me a kiss on the cheek before getting up to get a drink.
“You know you can tell us anything right?” Andy asked from above me.
“Yeas hun that’s why I actually answered Jake instead of saying nothing.
“Aww thanks hun.” Jake said holding me tighter.
“Yeah no problem.” I told him. We laid back and I used him as a pillow again taking a wonderful nap. In just an hour we should be arriving to the venue.
