Venice, Italy. Quite the romantic place or so Christina reckoned after she and Ashley came back from a nice meal together and he even took her on the canal. “I’ve always wanted to go on one of them boat thingy’s” CC had said, “They look fun!” Italy wasn’t a place Solaris particularly liked as a bad part of her childhood had happened there. It was on her mind one day during a sound check in Rome and Andy could tell something was bothering her. “Baby what’s wrong?” he sat by her on the edge of the stage, “Is everything okay?” “Not really…” “Want to talk about it?” “I guess… I just don’t like Italy that’s all and Rome in particular…” “Why?” “Bad childhood memories…” “Oh…” “Yeah I…” she paused for a moment, wondering if she should tell him. Andy caught on. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to babe. I’m not gonna force you or anything…” Solaris nodded, “I know…” She took a deep breath, “I came here on Holiday with my Uncle, Aunt and 2 cousins when I was 7 years old. It was good too we had loads of fun! But the day before we were supposed to come home … I was ran over…” Andy let out a soft gasp, “Y-You were run over…?” “Yeah I was dawdling as we were crossing the road and a car came along and I got hit. Sort of my own fault I guess but my Aunt and Uncle should have been watching me too. Never trust a 7 year old on a road...” “So what happened after?” Solaris sighed, “An ambulance was called… I was unconscious, been knocked clean out. I was taken to the hospital and unfortunately I went into a coma…” Andy looked as if he wanted to cry. Solaris continued. “I was in a coma for 4 months. My dad did fly out here of course… After I’d woken I still spent another 12 months in hospital. I was lucky to survive.” “Babe that’s horrible, you poor thing.” Solaris smiled, “Yeah life has been a bit harsh on me but things are okay now. Anyway those 12 months did me some good; I spent most of it learning to speak Italian. I’m actually fluent now…” “You speak Italian?” Solaris giggled, “Si e io sono fluente.” Andy looked astonished, “You continue to amaze me!” “Do I?” Andy kissed her, “Yes you do.” “Andy, Solaris you’re supposed to be working not sat around talking and kissing!” came David’s voice “Get yourselves into gear guys chop chop!” Andy rolled his eyes, “Your manager is really starting to get on my nerves as of late…” Solaris giggled again, “He’s been getting on my nerves for two years now Andy you kind of get used to it.” Andy chuckled “Come on we’ve got work to do, let’s get to it before we get into more trouble.” “Hey guys we’ve got pizza!” came Ashley’s voice from backstage, “If you want some I suggest you come get some before CC scoffs it all!” “Pizza!” Solaris jumped up, “Andy come on!” “It’s only pizza baby…” Solaris looked offended. “What?” “That’s like me saying to you it’s only Batman!” Andy gasped, “How could you say something like that!” “Then don’t say it’s only pizza!” Ashley’s head peaked out from the backstage door, “You two coming or not?” “Yes!” Solaris ran towards the door leaving Andy no choice but to follow her backstage to the rest room where everyone else was gathered around several pizza boxes. “I knew you’d come as soon as you found out we have pizza” said Marcella, “It’s your favourite…” Solaris grinned grabbing a slice, “No food in the world is better than pizza! Especially fresh authentic Italian pizza!” “Not even chocolate?” Jinxx asked, “I thought that was every girl’s favourite food…” Marcella made a face, “I hate chocolate!” This time Christina was the one with the offended look on her face, “I still can’t believe that!” “Can’t believe what baby?” Ashley asked her. “That Marcy doesn’t like chocolate!” Christina replied, “I’m a chocoholic! I love the stuff! Hearing that someone doesn’t like it is just downright offensive!” Everyone laughed. Knock Knock! “Girls it’s sound check time!” “Finally!” said Loretta running for the door, with Christina right behind her. Marcella and Solaris exchanged glances, “What’s with them? It’s only a sound check?” “I know…” “Marcy!! Sol!! Come on!!” “Have fun ladies,” said CC as he picked up his 5th slice of pizza. “CC how much of this are you intending to eat?” CC grinned, “I’ll eat what you guys don’t want…” “Or what he can get his hands on without us knowing maybe?” “Shut up Andy! Go make out with your girlfriend!” “She busy and at least I have a girlfriend!” “He would if he had the balls to ask Loretta out.” “What?!” Ashley laughed, “Oh come on I’ve seen the way you look at her!” CC turned bright red. “See there you go! And you aren’t denying it!” “Shove off Purdy!” “Nah thanks…” “Ashley, CC, shut up!” They both went quiet. “Thank you!” “Looking forward to the show tonight then guys?” “Hell yes!” “What were you and Solaris talking about Andy?” “That’s none of your business is it Purdy?!” “Sheesh sorry I only asked!” “Andy, Ashley, no argumenting please!” “Argumenting? CC is that even a word?” “It is now because I just made it up.” “You are so weird!” “You don’t know by now that CC is weird? Sheesh Andy!” “I think his mind is just too much on Solaris” “How good is she in bed Andy?” Andy glared at Jake, “Why do you want know?!” “Just being curious…” “Chrissie’s a little minx in the bedroom.” “Ew Ashley we don’t need to know!” Ashley laughed, “Couldn’t resist.” At that point the girls came back in giggling. “What’s so funny?” Jake asked. “M-Marcella t-tripped and f-fell f-flat on her f-f-face” said Solaris through giggles “Was funny!” “No it was not!” said Marcella “It hurt!” “Still funny…” said Loretta laughing. “It’s you guys’ turn for your sound check,” said Christina, kissing Ashley’s cheek sweetly. “We’re gone,” said CC grabbing another slice of pizza before running out the door. “Someone is eager…” “I’m looking forward to this too,” said Andy, “Rome is always a good gig.” Solaris smiled at him, “We’ll see won’t we?” Andy grinned at her, “You’ll see.”
“I love you Andy.” A huge smile appeared on Andy’s face “I love you too Sol, more than I could possibly put into words. You’ve changed my life baby; in fact, all you girls have changed all our lives. Christina you’ve managed to tame the wild Ashley, Sol you’ve stole my heart, Marcella you’ve had Jake falling head over heals for you and Loretta he’s too shy to tell you but CC likes you… like really likes you.” Solaris smirked at Andy as Loretta turned bright red, “And you boys have changed out lives, more than we could possibly say. And for that, we love you.”
