Kayla's pov.
I hid Cassie behind me as I inched toward the door. Havel had aged well, silver replaced alot of his once envied hair. Disturbing angst filled his face where normally one would find undaunting strength. I peeked out . " Why should I believe you?" He dropped his head and held out Mawmaw's necklace. Cassie looked out through my raised arms and choked out a sob. Mawmaw had showered us with love and praise while we had grown up , never letting us forget we were loved and wanted. We had made her that necklace during our fifth winter there. She had cried and told us she would wear it till the day the earth claimed her energy. I knew this meant she had died. If it was natural they would have never taken a prized item off her. I opened the door. "Who else has fallen?" Never looking up he held out many fur bracelets. We made them after someone died , since our fur was our identifyer it was worn by everyone who had be related. The fact so many filled his hands made the wind escape me and the world swirl . "There is 15 of us left. Out of so many.. " I bowed my head in honor of my fallen family. "We will leave tonight."

Cassie's pov.

Ashley has been understanding and left us to grieve. I had walked the ground circle and burnt sage for us. I worried because Kayla never cried, she stared blankly into the pile of bracelets Havel had left her with . She kept wrapping them around her fingers as she sharpened her blade. Andy walked up and I pulled him aside before he made the mistake of talking to her. "I need to say bye to Ashley. Please take care of her, I'm worried about her. She isn't acting right." His blue eyes avoided me as he walked toward Kayla. I ignored a gnawing feeling that something could go wrong and went to find my mate.
Ashley stood in the room running around looking for something. I stood and watched taken back by how dedicated this man was to finding what ever it was. He was suddenly aware I was there . "Oh hi." I giggled and walked closer . I was startled when he grabbed me and tossed me on the bed. "If you have to leave. Let me enjoy you one last time before you go." I moved under him as he kissed my stomach and hips. "I want to love ever inch. " I would never be done with this man.
