Our big family (book three of Unbroken series)

I couldn't believe that my dad wasn't dead. I had spent my whole life being told that both of my parents had died in a car crash. I was happy, but at the same time I was worried. What if he doesn't like me? What if he thinks that I'm a disappointment? What if he thinks that I sucked at raising Quinn?
"Kit, are you alright?" Andy asked.
"I don't know," I sighed, rolling over in bed to face him.
"What do you mean?"
"Quinn called me last week and shared some news. I just don't know how to take it."
"What did she say?"
"She said that a guy showed up at her and Ashley's place and he said that he was our dad. She told me that he knew details about the crash that no one but us and the police know, so it's got to be him."
"That's amazing news!" Andy smiled.
"Yeah, but I'm scared," I mumbled.
"Why on earth would you be scared?"
"I don't know if my dad will like me. Besides, if he really wanted to see me, he would have came and visited me, but instead he's being staying with Quinn."
"Maybe he's waiting for you to come to him," Andy said.
"I guess, but that means that I would have to leave you and I don't want to," I pouted.
"Kit, I could come with you, you know. I haven't seen Ashley since I 'visited' you last month. We said we would start recording before we started touring again, anyways."
"Do you really want to come?" I asked.
"I want to be wherever you are, so yes," Andy grinned before leaning in and giving me a peck on the lips.
"I'll call Quinn and tell her we'll be visiting on Friday. I suppose I should probably make myself look more presentable before then," I said, thinking about how my roots were showing through pretty badly.
"You look perfect already," Andy whispered, kissing my forehead.
"You're too sweet," I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him deeply.

"You ready to meet him?" Andy asked me.
I looked at myself in the mirror and observed my new appearance. I had gotten a nose piercing and I had dyed my hair to my natural dirty blonde colour.
"I'm as ready as I'm going to be," I breathed, getting out of the rental car.
I walked up to the apartment complex with Andy in tow and I knocked on the door that belonged to Quinn and Ashley. I heard a shuffling behind the door and a very chipper Ashley answered the door.
"Hey guys, come on in!" He said, letting us into the apartment.
I didn't really know how exactly to describe their apartment. It was very them. I saw a few BVB things hung on the wall and Ashley's bass on a stand by the couch in the living room.
"Is Quinn home?" I asked.
"Yeah, she was talking to Brad-uh, I mean your dad- in the kitchen," Ashley said, leading Andy and I into the kitchen where Quinn was chatting with a man in his mid-forties with wheat, blonde hair and bright blue eyes.
"Um, hey Quinn. Wow...you're really starting to show," I said as I noticed how large she had gotten.
"Oh, hey Kit!" Quinn said, noticing that Andy and I were there, "Yeah, I've had to buy maternity clothes now. I gotta say that I'm not a fan of it. By the way, this is dad."
"H-hi," I stuttered.
"Kit...is that you?" the man asked, his eyes wide.
"Y-yeah. I-it's me," I sputtered with tears spilling out of my eyes.
My dad approached me slowly and wrapped his arms comfortingly around me. My dad was hugging me. I had always wondered what it would be like to have a parent hug you and I would get insanely jealous whenever I would see a kid at school get a hug and a kiss from one of their parents. Now I knew what it was like, and although I did wish my mom was alive too, I was incredibly grateful to have at least one parent.
"I-I thought y-you were d-dead," I sobbed into his chest.
"I know. I'm so sorry. I just needed to get my life back on track before I met you. I didn't want you two to be disappointed in me," he choked out.
"I thought y-you would be disappointed in me."
"I could never be disappointed in you, Kit. You've turned into a beautiful, successful, and amazing young woman. I couldn't have hoped for anything more."I
