Our big family (book three of Unbroken series)

I walked off of the stage after performing with both Flashbang and Contagion. I was feeling sick to my stomach. I had just sang for Quinn's band and it felt...wrong. She should have been the one singing, not me.
I walked back to the buses and saw Jayy. Anger flared inside of me. The fact that he was trying to ruin Calvin's relationship was eating me up inside. He was my cousin. If anyone else were to hurt Calvin, I would have beaten them to a pulp.
"Jayy," I said, walking over to him.
He was leaning against his tour bus, staring down at his cell phone.
"Hey, Kit. What's up?" he asked, a bit disinterested.
"What you did to Calvin while you were together was low, but this...this is even lower. Are you purposefully trying to hurt him?" I said to him, my voice low.
"Kit, come on-"
"Jayy, the only reason I haven't yelled at you is because we're related. If you hurt Calvin one more time, I will hurt you," I threatened.
He looked taken aback at my threat. I wasn't one to hurt anyone- heck I could barely bring myself to kill a spider- but Jayy was messing with my best friend, and that's not something I take lightly.
"I-I promise," he said.
I swallowed and walked away from him, back to the Motionless In White bus. I wanted so desperately to believe that he wasn't going to break his promise, but I had sick feeling in my stomach that things were going to escalate.
I plopped down on my bunk and immediately fell asleep, hoping for a dreamless sleep.

I got out of my bunk at six in the morning. I hadn't had a decent sleep in over a week and last night was no different. I had woken up every twenty minutes or so since twelve. I had given up any hope of getting any more sleep at five and I had spent an hour playing Temple Run on my phone.
As I got out of my bunk and went into the kitchen area, I noticed a pack of unopened L&M cigarettes on the counter and a red lighter. I hadn't smoked in years, but I was in dire need of something to calm me down. I snatched up the pack and lighter. I grabbed Andy's hoodie that I hadn't returned to him. It still smelled exactly the same as it did the day he broke up with me. I inhaled the scent of it and slid it on. I put on a pair of Vans and ventured off of the bus.
I wandered around a bit until I leaned up against on of the tour buses. I unwrapped the pack and took out a cigarette. I lit it up and watched smoke start to be emitted. I put my lips around the end of the orange part and took a long drag, watching the glowing orange light begin to burn away the cigarette as I did so. I puffed out the smoke and observed it create a unique shape in the air. How I'd missed this.
"I didn't know you smoked."
I turned my head and saw Andy standing next to me. He was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans and a plain, black hoodie.
"It's not a regular habit of mine. The last time I smoked I was nineteen. I stopped after Quinn moved in with me," I told him, taking another drag.
"What made you decide to start again?" he asked.
"Stress," I replied.
"Would you like to tell me about it?"
I nodded my head and handed him a cigarette. I lit it for him and he put his lips to it. He looked incredibly sexy when he was smoking. It wasn't something I paid much attention to until we broke up. Then I started noticing a lot more things that I adored about him. Figures right?
"So, what's causing you to get stressed?" he asked.
"Calvin."
"Why Calvin?"
"Well, it's not so much Calvin exclusively, as it is him and Jayy," I told him.
"Oh. What happened with him and Elliot?"
"Calvin and Elliot are still together, but Jayy pulled some crap earlier. He's trying to fuck up their relationship. Calvin and Jayy had dated before, but Jayy cheated on Cal, so Cal broke up with him. I guess Jayy wasn't to happy about that, though he shouldn't have been suprised since he was the one who screwed everything up. Now Calvin finally has someone and Jayy thinks 'Hey, I should try ruining his life again!' If only Quinn were here, she would know how to deal with Jayy. But she's not here, because Jacky had to go and screw up everything. It's just....why does everything have to fall apart?" my voice cracked.
I dropped my cigarette and ran my hands through my hair while blinking back tears.
"Kit, things will work out, I promise," he whispered as he embraced me in a hug.
"You can't promise that," I mumbled into his chest.
He pulled away and just stared at me. He looked so sure about something, and the next thing I knew, Andy's lips were on mine.
I quickly pulled away from him and looked at him in utter shock. He apparently wasn't expecting that reaction because he seemed just as suprised as I was.
"Kit..I...I...um...Kit!" he yelled as I ran.
He had just kissed me. I bet he thought that he would make everything better with a kiss, but it didn't. I couldn't love him again. I would only get hurt.
