Juliet.


The bright light took Juliet's form: slender slight tan skin, her bright green eyes, her sweet smile. Her blond hair - once short cut - was waist long and braided with some bluish green streaks, she was also wearing a long white dress, white wings on her back and a halo above her heard. Her figure was slowly getting more and more blurred, it took me a while to get that was because of me tears. That was it, I'm broking down right now. I just wanna to run, grab her, hug her, love her, never let her go again, but I don't know if I can... Is she an Angel? A Ghost? A Illusion of my crazy self? I don't know. She approached and sat in front of me, looking at Angel's corpse with a sorrow face.


"Hello, Andrew." Her voice sounded like bells.

"I-Is that really you? Are you an angel, Dragonfly?"

"Yes, Andy. I am, but I'm not your Dragonfly anymore..."

"What do you mean?"

"I love you Andy. Do you know that right?"

"If you loved me then why you tried to kill me?!" I asked hurt.

"It wasn't me, I swear! I had no control over my body. I had already died, the night before I was murdered, a soulless body used as puppet. The night we argued and I confronted Samantha. She killed me, not Angel. Actually, Angel freed me."


I hugged Angel even tighter, crying, hiccupping and with all guilt of the world above my shoulders. I accused her, hit her, harmed her, cursed her, bullied her and because of me she was dead now.


"How?" I whispered softly and she bit her lip.

"I may not sayher name, but I must warn you: she wants you. First she just wanted to play with Jinxx through Sammi's body and cause chaos, that's how she has fun, but now, she has her eyes on you. She possessed me and tried to steal your soul, but Angel exorcised her and turned my already dead body into ashes. Our destiny is over in this life as a couple. I'm not your lover anymore."

I titled my head to the side, confused "How so?"

"You see, most of people we meet in each life, is people we have met in our past life and there it goes. In my past life I was your mother, this one I was your lover, but there is one thing called Soul Mates: one soul split in two that must find the other half in order of love and happiness. We both though we were Soul Mates, and we are - being liked by emotional ties - but not the romantic way I'm telling you about. It doesn't matter how much you love someone, as soon as you find your Soul Mate it's love at first sight and then, gradually you don't feel attracted - as a couple - to this person anymore. When we started dating and I met your friends, I must say I fell in love with one of them at first sight, but he was already married and had a daughter and we were together, so I ignored it. You were so nice and kind with me that I couldn't hurt you both like that. Around a year later he died and there was nothing else I could do and the feeling faded away. I met him again as soon as I died and knew the truth."

"Who's he?"

"I think you know." She said winking "She" she pointed at Angel "is your Soul Mate." That explained all that strange strong and awkward feelings I had towards Angel from the first time I saw her. That feeling that I needed to be with her, take care of her, hug her and never let go.

"But she's as dead as you..."

"I don't have her powers. She's the Phoenix who rises from the ashes." She looked deeply into my eyes "And you are the only one that can bring her back to life.

"How?"

"Giving her something to live for, be her savior once again. You'll know what to do... you always do..." She was slowly fading away.

"Juliet, wait!" I had something to tell her "I'm sorry for letting you die. I'll always love you." She smiled sweetly.

"So will I. And it wasn't your fault Andy. God has plans for all of us..."

"I guess I'm not an atheist anymore..." I said giggling softly.

"You never was Andy. You've always believed in something stronger and wiser that you. You may not be at Church, but you believe in a power, in a hope to stay strong and never give in front of the problems. This is the spirit of God. He lives inside of all of us. As while as you have this faith, He'll guide and protect you. You are a Guardian Angel by His eyes, saving all this kids from their demons. Never change."

"Thanks."

"No problem. Farewell, my love. I'll see you in another life, maybe sooner that you think." And with that she disappeared, leaving me alone with Angel's body.


I had absolutely no idea what to do. Her pale and cold body was undoubtedly dead. The kind of dead that just can't be brought back to life. I was really depressed, all covered in her blood. How could I give her something to live for if I was the reason of her killing herself?!


"I'm so, so sorry, Angel." I whispered "I am the one that needs redemption and forgiveness. I blamed you for a thing I didn't do. I became a bully just like the ones I despite and fight against and because of that you are dead. Angel, please wake up! Please... I love you. I have from the very first sight too. You need to live. Your mother needs you, I need you. Come back to me, baby..." I started slowly leaning and let my lips rest again against her cold, dead ones.

While I was singing, Angel's body started glowing that reddish/golden color and all the blood that was splattered on the floor started flowing back to her body. Her face was getting less pale and more healthy as the time passed. It somehow reminded me Bella's transformation in a very creepy way.

All the blood had came back to her body - making as it had never happened - and her gushes were closing themselves. However, she wasn't breathing or moving. I continued anyways.

I felt a faintly heart beat through our clothes. I waited and felt again, stronger this time. And again.


So rise from the ashes


"Angel?" I asked softly "Angel? Wake up..."


Her eyes trembled and opened as she gasped for air - just like a newborn baby - clinging to me. I hugged her back and slowly, she let me go, looking into my eyes. Her eyes no longer that blackish brown as the darkest chocolate.


Now they were glowing a deep violet.
