Ryan's POV
I walked up to my driveway . I opened the doorway . My mom instantly hugged me . "Why are you so happy" I asked chuckling a little . " I missed you so much , and how was the school , do people bully you ? Do I need to call the principal ? " She said , all at once .

"No , not for me" I said mumbling the last part . "Why would we call the principal , if its not for you "? "Oh shit,' I thought . "B-because we need to call them for Vinny . "Oh , is this boy a friend of yours ?" . "Mommmmm " I said whining , " Vinny's a girl " . Her eyes opened wide . "Oh a girl ?" She said hinting at me .

"Mom , were just friends ," I said unconvincingly . "Where do they live"? My dad said coming in to the kitchen where me and my mom were standing . "Down the street " I said motioning , in the direction she lived . "Well lets go say hi , to our new neighbors " my dad said . "Yeah" my mom pipped up . "Okay" I said huffing , setting my stuff down . And walking back out the door , with my parents .

I walked with my head down , picking my brain , about every aspect of Vinny . "Mom , I met her today , I don't know her life story " I said glumly . 'I wish though .' I thought to myself . As we walked to Vinny's driveway , We heard cracks of a belt , and a girl screaming .

My eyes opened wide . "oh my whats going on"? My mom asked worried as by dad dialed numbers on his phone . Probably the police .

"VINNY"! I screamed running into her house , not caring about anything . My parents followed . I found her on the floor , her father hitting her with a belt , "dad stop" she screamed again. My dad was talking in his phone , and my mom was panicking . I punched Vinny's dad in the face , he fell .I grabbed Vinny and picked her up , and brought her outside .

She was bleeding and was bruised. Tears streamed down my face . "Vinny" I said pushing a piece of her hair out of her face . "Why are you here"? She asked fear in her face . "My family wanted to come say hi " I said, laughing once to break some of the tension .

She smiled . Then the ambulance and police pulled up . "You called the police "?? She screeched , I didn't my dad did . "Wait no" she said as the ambulance . Took her away . I sat there , staring at my hands. I didn't answer any questions .

Expect one . After the police left and took Vinnys dad away , my dad headed home . My mom placed a hand on my shoulder . And said calmly . "You like her , don't you" . I couldn't say anything , so I shook my head . "Yes" .
