LEGION OF THE BLACK

When Mackenzie woke the following morning to see Andy’s face she was at first confused, but then the events from the previous day and night came flooding back. Andy had told her he loved her, then kissed her, then asked her out, then well… she blushed at the thought of what came after. She smiled as Andy twitched in his sleep; it was so surprising that the man who was so confident could look so sweet.

She could have happily watched Andy sweetly sleep longer and he probably would have if not for a loud knock on the door.

Andy jumped and woke with a start, “I’m awake!!”

Mackenzie giggled, Andy growled… “Who is it?”

“It’s CC, Ashley sent me to wake you both its gone 11.”

Andy groaned “Tell Ashley to stuff his head where the sun doesn’t shine!”

CC chuckled, “I will… Jinxx and Jake have starting some training in the central area if you feel like joining?”

“As soon as I’ve woken up, yes!”

“I’ll leave you to it then.” CC’s footsteps could be heard going down the stairs.

Andy rubbed his eyes and smiled at Mackenzie, “Good morning my beautiful girl,” he leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips, “Did you sleep well?”

She nodded, “Best night’s sleep of my life.”

Andy kissed her again, “Come on baby we’d better get dressed and go and join the others, we’re going to need all the training we can get.”

Andy stood and started getting dressed and Mackenzie started to the do the same when a thought crossed her mind and she suddenly began to cry. Andy noticed straight away.

“Baby what’s the matter, why are you crying?”

“A-Andy I’m scared I-I just got you I-I don’t want to lose you!”

“Shh baby,” Andy pulled her in for a hug, “You are not going to lose me okay? We are going to win this! Will we defeat F.E.A.R and then we won’t have to worry.”

“I know… I love you Andy.”

“I love you too baby now wipe those tears away and let me see that beautiful smile.”

Mackenzie wiped her eyes and put on the best smile she could.

Andy grinned, “Gorgeous! Now shall we go and see how this training is going?”

She sniffled and nodded, “Okay.”

Once they were both dressed they made their way to the central area where everyone was gathered watching Jinxx and Jake throwing punches at each other, both of them covered in blood. Mackenzie looked around but couldn’t see Josh anywhere, could he still be asleep?

Andy took her over to where Ash and CC were stood watching and laughing. Ash stuck his middle finger up at Andy when they approached, “That was for your comment.”

Andy chuckled, “Not my fault you sent him to wake me up!”

“Hey I have a name!” CC punched Andy on the arm, “Andrew!”

“Oh that’s how you want to play it eh Christian?”

CC grinned, “Shall we show Jinxx and Jake how it’s done?”

Andy nodded and made his way into the centre with CC.

“Please don’t hurt him too much CC!” Macca yelled.

CC only just managed to yell “I won’t!” back before Andy threw a hard punch at his nose, blood flew everywhere.

Everyone’s attention suddenly turned to Andy and CC, even Jinxx and Jake stopped to watch. There was still no sign of Josh though.

“Ashley, have you seen Josh at all?” Mackenzie asked “I can’t see him here?”

Ashley looked around and then shook his head, “No sorry, why don’t you go and check his silo?” Macca nodded, “Okay.”

Leaving the crowds she headed over to Josh’s silo, and knocked on the wall, “Josh… Its Macca… Are you in?” No reply. “Josh?” she knocked again, still nothing. Sighing she poked her head into his silo… deserted. Where on Earth was he?

She returned to the crowds where Andy was waiting for her, Jinxx and CC were now fighting. “Did you find him?” Ashley asked. Macca shook her head, “No sign of him.”

“No sign of whom?” Jake had joined them.

“It appears Josh has gone missing.”

“Or gone wondering…”

Andy shook his head, “Everyone knows it’s against the rules to leave the camp without permission from one of us three or those two.” Andy pointed at Jinxx and CC.

“So where do you suppose he is then Andy?”

“I’d like to say if I knew.” Macca stood close to Andy and laid her head against his chest, “He’s ok… r-right?”

Andy put his arms round her and held her close, “I sure hope so.”

“If he doesn’t show his face at all today we’ll have everyone search the camp and if he’s not found then Jake and I will go out tomorrow and look.”

Andy agreed with Ashley’s plan and everyone was informed of it once Jinxx and CC had finished beating each other up. CC came out the worse as Jinxx was an excellent fighter and it didn’t help that Andy had broken his nose.

Meanwhile, several miles away, Josh was stood at the front doors of the main F.E.A.R. headquarters. When he approached the front doors they swung open and two Shadows emerged. “Who are you and what do you want?”

“My name is Josh… I used to be a Wild One but I’ve come to join you…”
