Land Of The Lost

Looking between them I knew that they didn’t believe me. “Why would I lie about it now?”

“You’re working for F.E.A.R I want to know why.” Andy said as he glared at me.

“Look, untie me first.Please, I can’t focus like this. I’m trying to remember but I can’t.” I looked pleadingly at Jinxx.

“Alright, but you try anything we won’t hesitate to cut you down.”

Andy looked at Jinxx, “Are you crazy She’s…never mind, you’re going to free her anyway.” Jinxx smirked and untied the bindings. I sat up as soon as I was free.

“Look, I really can’t remember. The last thing I can remember before waking up here is someone injecting some kind of liquid into my neck. That’s it.”

“That was a sedative. Perhaps this is a defense mechanism that you’ve come up with. It’s possible that you really don’t remember anything. But we’re not going to take any chances, so do try to answer our questions.”

I sighed and nodded. About fifteen minutes passed before they pretty much gave up. Most of my answers were ‘I don’t know.’ “I know I’m of no help or use to you…and I wouldn’t blame you for killing me, but if what Jinxx said is true then…maybe as my memory returns I can help you defeat F.E.A.R that’s what you want isn’t it? To be rid of him?”

“Yeah that’s our ultimate goal.”

“Let me help you…”

“At the moment, you’re in no position to help, that gash on your side isn’t even close to being healed yet. Give it time and when you’re fully healed we’ll see where things stand.” Andy stood up as he spoke and left the room.

“So…I’m guessing I’m stuck in here for now?” I asked as I looked at Jinxx, his blue-gray eyes almost too calm for a situation like this.

“Yes, I still don’t trust you enough to be anywhere near the other patients. I won’t tie you up again as long as you stay in here and try not to kill anyone.”

“I don’t understand why you keep saying ‘try not to kill anyone.’”

“Like I said before, you are one of F.E.A.R’s soldiers, you’re trained to kill.”

“Not much good at it if I was captured. But I’ll stay in here and wait until you say I can leave. That’s about all I can do isn’t it?” I tried making the best of the situation. If I cooperate then I’ll be able to get out of here sooner. But…where would I go? “Jinxx…where am I supposed to live if I stay here?”

“Don’t worry about that for now. You have at least two weeks before you should be moving around with the size of that cut.” He got up and left the room soon after.

Two weeks later

Lynnette pov:

I was staring out the window of the hospital room I had been moved to not long after my talk with Andy and Jinxx. I didn’t focus too much on the time, instead I tried to remember who I was, and where I came from. My main worry however was where I was going to be staying after I left the hospital. I laughed a bit for calling it a hospital. It was a semi-large building but over half of it was not being used.

Being left alone with my thoughts wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be. I still had no idea where I came from but was starting to remember a few things. Nothing that was important to the rebel army I was sure, just a few things that I liked and disliked.

“So kid, you remember anything else today?” I jumped when I heard the voice. I spun around and glared at Jinxx.

“That is not funny .How many times have I told you I hate being snuck up on?”

“Only every day,” He laughed. We had started becoming closer, friends more than anything else. “But really, have you remembered anything?”

“Yes…though I don’t know how much use it’ll be for you.” I hesitated for a moment, wondering if Andy should hear from me; then tossed that idea aside knowing that Jinxx would tell him. “I remember my name. It’s Lynnette.”

Sorry it's late, I haven't been home long enough to post this. I'm hoping chapter 4 will be up tonight...at least it's making progress.
