Tensions were high as the people and myself awaited the judge's conviction.
"Mr. Coleman, has your client made any effort to avoid her previous charges?" The judge asked my lawyer.
"Yes she has your honor, for the past 3 and a half years, my client has made it her dying mission to escape the pain and torture from her past." Mr. Coleman declares. The judge stares at him for a while then looks at me, "Will the defendant please rise." She says.
I stand up straight next to my lawyer. I shake nervously awaiting my sentence.
"Ms. Veronica Stone, with all I've heard today in this courtroom, and with all I've seen from your previous record in the rehabilitation center for youth, I here by drop you of all charges, you are a free woman."
My heart began to race. I WAS FREE! I couldn't believe I was finally free. Once the court was dismissed, I went to embrace my brother, Jaxon, in a hug. I was so happy. I would finally go home to my family and friends. "I'm so happy for you Ronnie. Your coming home finally." Jaxon sobbed into my shoulder. Once we let go of each other we left the courtroom.
The court house 2 hours from my house so for a while Jaxon told me alot about what happened while I was in juvie. Well so far my friend Avery got a pet guinea pig and named him Roger, Jaxon and my friend Nellie were dating, my friend Jolene's parents kicked her out so she's living with me and my siblings, finally my sister Danni is graduating from high school this week.I couldn't wait to see them all again, when we pulled up to my house I ran to the front door where I was ambushed by hugs and laughter.
Once free of the grasp I looked upon the lovely faces of each on of my best friends. Avery with her deep brown eyes and her short brown hair with their bright green streaks. Nellie with her beautiful blue eyes and her radiantly bright hair. Jolene with her emerald green eyes and silky white hair. Finally, my little sister Danielle who shared the same dark brown eyes as Jaxon and I. Her hair illuminated with shades of pink and purple, which I could tell was Nellie's handwork. They all smiled at the sight of me, my tall, skinny, girl figure. My deep brown eyes, along with my long dark black hair which was highlighted with red streaks. I could tell you what they all said, but that would take hours.
They cooked a huge welcome home dinner for my new freedom. Jaxon raised his glass and we followed. "To Ronnie, and her new freedom. I'm so happy to say, welcome home little sis." WE all raised our glasses as the skin of my cheeks went pink. But I was so happy. After nearly 7 years of utter hell and chaos I was free.
