Days Are Numbered

5.

A slamming door and a string of angry curse words woke Andy from his deep sleep. His dreams were plagued by that girl again, the one he had knocked over in the airport. He had not been able to think of anything else besides her since that wonderful moment. Her coal black hair, her chocolate orange eyes and her slender frame seem to be everywhere. Following him through his days. His every thought. It must sound ridiculous considering Andy didn't even know her name, but he had become infatuated with the idea of this perfect stranger.

His bedroom door flew open as Ashley stormed in topless. A look of pain flashing over his face.
''I stubbed my fucking toe on that stupid fucking batman statue in the lounge. This is all your fault!'' Ashley cried out in pain as Andy only sniggered. They both shared a small apartment two blocks from their recording studio. With the realization that Andy was going to give him no sympathy, he stormed off.

With a reluctant sigh Andy knew he must face the day, with only a week until the release of the bands latest album, he already wanted to start writing for the next one. He was so proud of everything he had wrote, but he wanted to better himself. Make an album that would shake the world. But for that he needed inspiration and inspiration meant going out.

After dressing in a pair of black ripped skinny jeans, a Misfits vest top and a leather jacket, he headed off on his adventure. First stop was a decent cup of coffee and he knew just the place.
With a lit cigarette hanging from his mouth, Andy strolled through the streets of L.A, taking in the sights and sounds that he had grown so accustomed to. He loved the city. He adored the busyness, the constant movement, the endless production. It gave him peace.

The small diner he had regularly visited stood on the corner of the street. With one last ruffle of his hair he carefully pushed the door open and headed towards the the closest booth. Mary-Lou, the server who had kept Andy caffeined up for years, brought him his usual and with a smile she headed towards the booth in the far corner. Her heels clicking along the red and white checkered floor. Andy's eyes followed her footsteps and to his surprise, connected with a pair of chocolate and burnt orange coloured eyes.

He couldn't believe his eyes, the girl from the airport was here.
