After that whole night, I was put on bed rest. The past week has been lying in a tent and relaxing. It gave me a ton of time to think. I asked Sammi not to bring in Andy or even Jake. I would talk to CC, Ashley, and Jinxx due to the fact I never felt pressure. Ashley was so easy to talk to. He would listen to me, let me cry in his shoulders, and comfort me. I still felt an inner connection with Andy.

When I felt strong enough, I walk over to meet Andy. He was in the music center with a notepad in his hands. Jake and Ashley were next to him. Ashley heard me enter. “I’m guessing someone’s getting a little stronger each day…” He gives me a small hug.

“Um,” I look to the both of them. “Can I talk to Andy alone?”

Ashley looks to Andy. Andy bits his lip and gives a small nod. “Come on, Jake, let’s leave them alone.” Jake stares at the both of us. If you are going to keep reading her thoughts, Starling spoke to Jake, you are going to read nothing at the moment. She’s too all over the place.

Andy rolled his eyes. “Jake, stop it! We’re both calm enough.” Ashley grabs Jake’s collar to his shirt and started pulling him away. I came right next to Andy. “Are you going to be okay?” I sat and look at him. How come I couldn’t speak to him? He was technically my leader… “And you are my friend, Staring.”

“I forgot we could read each other’s thoughts.” I whispered.

Andy chuckles. “Jake taught me when you are near how to read your thoughts. You can’t read mine unless I do this.” He held my hand. You see what I mean? I smiled to Andy’s thought. “We can open up to each other about our past and share each other memories. Jake says we might have some other unique powers.”

I smiled to Andy. He put me in his arms, rocking me. It made me finally feel safe. I pushed myself out of his arms. “May I do something,” he nods. I sat into Andy’s lap and wrap my arms around his neck. Andy put his hands on my hips and knew exactly what I wanted. He leaned back as I went in for the kiss. Andy opened his mouth and let my tongue in. I felt Andy’s hands on my back.

After a while of making out, I pushed myself off Andy. He touched my bangs. “You are so amazing,” I whispered to him.

He smiles to me. “So are you…” He got up, and we started to leave the music center. “Wait,” Andy stopped me. “I need to try out this one thing with you. Jinxx said it may work.” Andy pressed our foreheads together. “Just close your eyes and relax for one second.” I did as told.

Finally for some reason, we were at a beach area. I gasped out. “What…”

Andy laughed at me. He was standing right next to me. “You see, I always had these visions whenever I just sat back and relaxed. I could run away to another place. I can’t feel the sand or the water.” He leans down and touches the sand. “Starling…”

“I control the senses,” I whispered to him. For that half hour, we had fun like children.

Andy pushed me into the ocean water. I laughed as I ran to jump on Andy’s back. He fell face first into the water. I pinned him down; he laughs and kisses me. Finally, Andy’s vision went away. We set back from each and smiled.

“I like that one,” I said. Andy nodded in agreement. We laughed and walked outside in hand and hand. We noticed all the guys surround by Jinxx.

Some of the Rebels had their hands on his shoulder. Jinxx’s hands were covering his face. I and Andy ran to them; both of us held a worried look. “What’s going on?” Andy whispers out, looking to Jake.

Ashley was sitting by Jinxx, comforting him. Ashley looked up, and by the look in his eyes, I knew it was what I thought it was. “Sammi was captured by F.E.A.R.” I spoke out.

Andy went to hug Jinxx. That is when Jinxx just broke down. I held back my tears, but Jake knew I was going to cry. I pulled his arm, and we walked back to my tent. Jake went to hug me, and I started crying. Sammi was becoming one of my close friends. I shared everything with her.

Jake rubbed my back. “I know. You are scared to tell them. I don’t think you have to yet.” I nodded into his chest; if I told everyone, what would end up happening? Would they all hate me or be repeal for me? Would it make more sense why I am so fucked up?

You’ll be fine, Sarah… Starling’s voice came over. You’ll overcome these fears soon… “Starling is right,” Jake whispers. “You have these two voices and it so confusing…even for Andy. You will be okay, alright, Starling?” You nodded again.

Someone came in, and I noticed it was Andy. Jake got up, “I’ll go check on Jinxx.” Andy looks at me and notices the tears.

“Babygirl…” He kisses my forehead. “We’ll be fine, okay? I can promise you that. We’ll brave this storm. You aren’t alone…”

That night, I let Andy stay in my tent for the night. Lauren became my new nurse, and sudden depression hit again… The dark road is ahead of us, Sarah. Come on…

That still doesn’t stop my depression taking over my body.
