Irresistable Stepbrother

I woke up suddenly to my phone buzzing on the table by my bed. I slowly reached up for it.
I brought it down to my eye level; the text was from my mother
-“Get down here…we need to finish unpacking”

I threw my phone on the bed and drew myself deeper underneath the covers. “Aaaaahhhhh” I yelled it loud enough just for me to hear.
I threw back the covers and swooped my legs over on to the floor. I got up and walked towards the door; and before my eyes could process I slammed right into Andy.
“Uh…sorry."

I crossed my arms and stood there waiting for him to pass instead he held out his arm gesturing for me to go first. I rolled my eyes and headed down stairs.
I heard him following behind me but I shrugged it off my shoulders.

I walked over and around stacks upon stacks of boxes. Without me watching where I was going I slipped on moms washing rag right into Andy’s arms. “Whoa you okay?” he said
I hurried and released myself from his over masculine arms “Yeah…um thanks”
We both rounded the corner into the kitchen. I saw mom hugged up with Larry; they just withdrew their lips from a kiss and were now sharing a secret joke between each other.

I avoided their happiness and went to go sit on one of the high chairs; Andy followed behind me doing the same.

I peeked over at him and of course he was texting. He’s always texting particularly his girlfriend Alexis, day and night it’s like they never stop.

And yes there one of those “you get off the phone first” “No you get off the phone first”.
He leaned in next to me out of my surprise while finishing up a text putting his phone on the counter. “You know……I know you don’t quite like me”

I turn to fully look at him “I’ve never said that….I don’t like liars”
He half smiled at me.

I envy that smile.

He was about to continue, till my mom interrupted “So you two Kido’s like the place?”
“Yeah, it’s big” Andy responded, I stayed quiet.

Andy elbowed me on the side. I turned to scowl at him “Yeah I like it” I faced mom putting on a fake smile.

“Well then, it would look a lot better if we unpack so let’s go, C’mon let’s get a move on” Larry said gesturing his arms towards the unpacked boxes.

I slowly eased myself out of the seat, walking over towards the boxes. I got down into a sitting position trying to rip the tape off the boxes.

Through the struggling of tape ripping I looked around for Andy; to see if he was struggling too. No! No he wasn’t unpacking…..he was texting!

My anger took over me as I stormed over towards the couch standing in front of him with my arms crossed. “Hey earth to Andy?” I waved my hands in the air to get his attention. He looked up clearing his mind from whatever his conscious was thinking about “What?”

I pointed towards the boxes “Did you bump your head…..and forget to do something?”
He smiled and went back to texting. I walked over and swiped the phone quickly out his hands. He got up and ran over to me trying to grab his phone back.

I stretched my arm farther and farther away from him while my other arm blocked him.
He grabbed my hip with one of his arms. I gave in because he was so strong and my body was thrown against his hard chest.

“Give it…” he began; we were now a few inches away from each other’s face “here” he finished closing his mouth clenching his jaw. He was searching in my eyes for something….for something he didn’t notice before.

He un-locked his arms around me and took a couple steps pass me. He walked over to a box, slipping his phone into his sweats. He looked up at me before peeling back a piece of tape.

“Well aren’t you going to help?”
I broke my day dreaming stare towards the ground and headed back towards the box I was starting on.
