Angels and Saviors and Whatnot

"Will you be mine?"

My mouth dropped open to the floor and my eyes got wide.

"Andy...Andy I don't know, I mean how would this work? We'd be sneaking around my dad nonstop and we'd never go on dates because my dad is always home at 5:30 every night, and we couldn't be together at school, and-and..." I couldn't do this, how was I supposed to date him? I mean, sneaking around together and not to mention, I've only known him for two days.

I wanted to so badly, but, with my asshole of a father and people at school, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to do the whole dating thing. I've never had a boyfriend, I mean, last night was my first TRUE kiss from a boy. But what I saw next shattered my heart. The look on Andy's face was just....His big blue eyes were filled with tears and his lips were quivering, he looked as if his tears would flow forward like a waterfall. He fell to his knees and looked at me in utter disbelief.

"Y-you're saying n-no?"

"Andy please, you have to understand..." I reached out in cupped his cheek with my hand.

"When do you think you can say yes? That's all I want, I want you to be mine, and I want to be yours. I may not have known you for a while but I truly do have strong feelings for you. Please, Alli Cat, please give me a chance, I've never felt this way about any girl before." He reached up and touched my hand which was still on his tear stained cheek.

"Andy...I'll make you a promise. When my father goes to jail for what he's done to me, and when I can actually fend for myself, I WILL say yes. But until then, we have to remain friends for my sake and well-being. Okay?"

"Please don't let me down."

"I won't Andy. And yes, you can still kiss me," I added with a smile. He grinned and stood up on his knees met my lips halfway.

"C'mon Andy, we gotta get to school. Hopefully those jerks will leave us alone," I said with a sigh. The beatings at school AND home have been non-stop and I was beginning to break. We walked out the door and down a couple of blocks before we got to school. And we walked hand in hand into our own living hell.

The first couple periods were pretty good. Andy and I got some stares because we walked together and talked happily. We met Sandra for lunch outside and I introduced her to Andy. At lunch, we were just sitting at our table, minding our own business and talking about forming a band.

We heard laughter behind us, cruel, mocking laughter. All three of us turned around and we were faced with Devon, Stephanie's boy toy, and four of his jocks. The five large monsters stood before us and we knew we were gonna get it.

"Stephanie wants the new boy," Devon said, nodding towards Andy.

"Well she can get off her lazy fat ass and come get him," Sandra shot at him. I looked at Sandy and smirked, she's always good with situations like this.

"How 'bout you shut your mouth, emo freak, or I'll get Bruce here to shut it for you." He jerked his head in the direction of the biggest guy in the group. He was more heavy set than muscular but he could still pack a good punch.

"Yeah? What's fatty gonna do? Sit on us?" Sandra replied.

Bruce's face got red and he geared up his fist to punch Sandra. She stood up and turned out her right cheek screaming "Hit me right here Tubby!"

"Sandra! C'mon, let's just move. Andy, c'mon," I said. I stood up and Devon blocked my path.

"Going somewhere?" He asked.

"Yes, I am. Now please leave me alone, I'm not looking for trouble."

"I am." He smiled evilly and grabbed my left arm. I yelped and tried to get him to loosen his grip, but it only tightened, and he threw me on the ground. I fell and looked up at Andy, to find that he wasn't there. I looked around and found Andy and Sandra fighting off two jocks of their own. The remaining three looked over at me and smiled. Devon, and his two minions walked towards me as I struggled to stand up, only to be pushed down again.

"Give us the new boy or we'll break every bone in your body," One of the shorter guys said. Two of them grabbed both my arms and squeezed while Devon grabbed my throat and started to squeeze slowly.

"LEAVE THEM THE FUCK ALONE!" The jocks loosened their grips on me and dropped me like a rag-doll to the ground, leaving me gasping for air. I looked to see who had yelled, it didn't sound like Andy or Sandra and what I saw surprised me.

Three guys, shorter than Andy, taller than me, came charging at the three who were abusing me. All three looked very similar, black hair, grey clothing and similar in height. I stayed on the ground and watched as all 5 of the little army fought off the jocks. I soon regained my strength and helped Sandy with her jock.

After about 10 minutes of fighting the jocks got tired but all 6 of our army were still going. One of the jocks yelled "Retreat!" like they were some sort of battle over seas. They all ran off with their tails between their legs and the 3 guys ran over to Andy, Sandra and I, helping us to stand up straight.

"Uhm...thanks guys," I said, out of breath from helping Sandy fight off a jock twice the size of both of us put together.

"No problem, we've been fighting those guys off for months," the guy with the longest hair said.

"Not to be rude, but uh, who are you? And why haven't we seen you before?" Andy asked.

"I'm Jinxx, I like music, just thought you should know" the taller of the three said. He pointed at the guy to his right and said "This is Ashley, he likes girls." Ashley wiggled his eyebrows at me and I rolled my eyes as Andy let out a low growl.

"And this is Jake," Jinxx said pointing to the guy on his left. "He likes pizza."

"Pizza is life," Jake said.

"Well guys, how come we've never seen you before?" Sandra asked.

"We usually eat lunch in the building but other than that we all have classes together in a secluded part of the building," Ashley said, still staring at me. Jeez, what was this guy's problem?

"Thanks for fighting with us," Andy said. He looked down at me and asked "You okay sweetheart?"

"Awwwww," Ashley said. He sounded disappointed.

"What now Ash?" Jinxx asked.

"Hottie's taken," he stated. Andy let out another low growl, only loud enough for me to hear. I grabbed Andy's clenched fist and held it to my chest, letting him feel my heartbeat, trying to calm him down.

"Yes, Andy, I'm okay." I smiled up at him and noticed that he was bleeding. "Let's get you guys cleaned up, thank you for your help, we all appreciate it." And all 6 of us walked inside the school.

After school, Andy, Sandra, Jinxx, Jake, and Ashley the weirdo came to my house and hung out for a little while. We all talked about starting a band, everybody there played a different instrument. Jinxx was good at guitar and violin, and so was Jake, only not the violin part. Ashley knew how to play bass guitar, Sandra could play the drums like Eric Carr (shame on you if you don't know who that is), and Andy had a sexy singing voice, no doubt about it. I told them that I could help write songs and stuff, I wasn't very good at anything.

"Andy, show them that song you were working on," I piped up.

"Alright, let me go grab it." He stood up and went to his book bag to get the sheet of paper littered with arrows and scribbles. Ashley took this opportunity to steal Andy's seat and sat down next to me on the couch.

"Hey sweet cheeks," he said, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Not interested," I replied, shoving him off the couch. He landed to the floor with a thud and smiled.

"I like 'em feisty," he said. I rolled my eyes and groaned, God he's so weird.

Andy came back and took his spot next to me on the couch. He kissed my cheek and made sure to glare at Ashley while he did so. Andy handed the paper to Jake's outstretched hand and nervously bit his lip while he read the lyrics.

"These are really good, dude, where'd you learn to write?" Jake asked.

"I didn't, I just kinda...went with it, did what my heart told me to do." He smiled proudly and in that moment, I realized what I had turned down. He looked so happy talking about his music, nothing could bring him down. I felt horrible, he was so sweet. But I've only known him for, like, 3 days! I need to get to know him better before I just...date him.

"Allison!" My head snapped up and I realized I was zoning out.

"Huh?"

"I asked if you would sing the song with me," Andy said.

"I don't really know how it goes..." I said.

Andy leaned down and whispered, "Remember what I sang to you when you were crying last night?"

"Oh yeah, I remember."

"Just sing in your own octave after I sing this first verse. Okay?"

"All right, got it," I said smiling.

Andy started singing the first verse and I had to glance at the paper occasionally to find out where he was in the song. We got the chorus and we both sang our hearts out (even though I thought I sounded like a dying walrus). And when we finished we got stares from 4 different pairs of eyes.

"What?" I asked.

"You guys..." Jinxx started.

"Sounded..." Sandra continued.

"Amazing," Jake and Ashley finished together.

"Did we really sound that good?" Andy asked, quite shocked, actually.

"Holy shit, if this doesn't get famous one day, I will raise hell," Jinxx said, raising a fist into the air.
We all laughed and I looked at the clock, seeing that it was 4:30.

"Hey guys, who wants some popcorn? I'll put on some SpongeBob or something till around 5, that's our deadline."

"Wait, why 5?" Ashley asked.

"Her dad comes home at 5:30 and he doesn't do well with uninvited guests", Andy said.

"Oh all right, I'll tell my mom to come get us all, we can hang at my house," Sandra added.


Until 5:00, we watched SpongeBob, and talked about what to call the band. We came up with the name 'Black Veil Brides', since Andy grew up in a Catholic region in Ohio (When a nun marries the church, when she gives up her life and devotes herself to the church, she wears a black veil in honor of giving up her life for the church, and that's basically what they were doing, devoting themselves to their music.) At 5:00, Sandy's mom came to pick her and the rest of the guys up.

"Bye Alli! See you tomorrow! Bye Andy!" She yelled as she slammed the front door shut. It was opened again by Ashley who added with a smirk, "Don't do anything freaky until I see it." Andy flipped him off and the door was shut again.

"He is so..." I started.

"Annoying? Weird? Inconsiderate?" Andy suggested.

"Well, I was going to say different, but that works too," I said with a slight laugh. Andy sat down on the couch with me and pulled my limp body into his lap. I placed my head on his chest and sighed.

"So...Alli...have you come to a conclusion?" Andy asked, sounding hopeful.

"Andy, I don't think we would have a proper relationship if I couldn't go out on dates with you and I had to sneak out with you all the time. If this is going to be my first relationship, I want it to be special, ya know? I don't want it to be in total secrecy." Andy sighed and ran his fingers through my hair which was wavy due to the french braid it was in this morning.

"I understand sweetheart," He finally said. I buried my head into the crook of his neck and inhaled deeply. He smelled so good, like Axe and maybe....smoke?

"Andy, just promise me one thing?" I picked my head up and looked into his blue eyes.

"Anything princess," he whispered.

"Promise me that whatever happens, I won't be alone."

"Darlin', I'll always be here for you. Through anything and everything that happens to you, I'll be here holding your hand waiting for the storm to pass. I promise." I felt his lips on the top of my head and for the first time in years, I felt safe. I felt protected. And I knew that if I didn't say yes to this angel soon, I would lose him. So while we were sitting there on my couch, I thought of a plan to get my idiot father arrested, and to get my guardian angel to be my one and only love.

It literally took me from 11 AM, till 11 PM to write this, today has been so busy. I HAVE OVER 500 VIEWS ON MY STORY, I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW, thank you so much to everybody who's read this! It doesn't seem like a lot, but nobody has ever read my stories before, so this is huge. I love all my pinjas(: and please excuse any typos, I read my story earlier and figured out that were minimum but small typos, and my OCD is driving me insane, and every time I go back to change the typos, my pc freezes. So please excuse them. Thanks guys <3
