Fight Against All Odds
Chapter 15
For the next month Andy didn't talk to me except to correct me with training. He avoided touching me in any way training unless I was doing something so horribly wrong he HAD to help me.
In one of these instances, I just could not figure out how to work a rather complicated gun that I could not remember the name of. I couldn't figure out how to aim correctly and of course, just like the last time I shot a gun, Andy had to help me.
I just ended up so embarrassed I was on the verge of tears.
Whenever I was within Andy's eyesight he automatically walked the opposite direction. I rarely saw him though. He was always off scouting in the Gray's territory.
I had cried to Amy every night for a week than I stopped bothering her. She didn't understand what had me so depressed and neither did I. So what Andy told me he liked me than the next day told me we could never be together. I could find someone who cared for me A LOT more. For the first few nights Amy sympathized my situation and told me things like "you don't deserve him" or "that bastard is going to pay" but eventually I could tell she was getting annoyed.
So after that first week I just cried whenever I was alone.
Gosh what was my problem?
I would constantly tell myself he rejected me, and that I could find someone else who loved me no matter what. I would remind myself I wouldn't be like Bella when Edward left her, I couldn't be all depressed and a bitch.
I did my best to make myself bright and happy whenever I was in public. I'd walk around with a smile and compliment people like Amy. This way I made friends easily and was generally liked by most people. It helped that I was naturally not antisocial, although I was a little shy.
Some of the people I had befriended included two girls, Violet and Marie, who I always ate with and were about my age; Dahvie, who I always turned to when I was miserably depressed; Ashley Purdy, who was obviously involved with Amy in some way the way they stared at each other; and Ronnie Radke who I've caught staring at me on multiple occasions.
I had also made friends with CC sort of. He always was with Ashley when Ashley came to me with his questions of what Amy liked. Ashley would always come to me with questions like "So does Amy roses or tulips better?" or "Does Amy prefer flowers or chocolate?". Half the questions I didn't know the answer to, and he always left me about to laugh my head off from his desperateness. CC would always roll his eyes and whine that his "drinking buddy" was being an ass to me.
Ronnie however was a different story. He purposely sat next to me whenever I was eating and he would try to make conversations while Violet and Marie giggled quietly in the background. I had a miniature crush on him that was slowly growing, although I wouldn't say I "liked" him yet. He was a lot older than me, and I didn't really want to be mixed up with his hate obsession over certain people. Besides he acted like a douche a lot anyways.
Presently I was sitting at a table with Violet. Marie was sick...for the second time this month.
It was a Friday, so I was in a pretty good mood.
"Guess what Grace?" Violet said, brushing her long, bight pink hair behind her ear as she spoke.
"What?" I said as I played with the ends of my now black hair that I had gotten dyed a couple weeks earlier. Along with my black hair I had gotten my bangs recut where they had grown out.
"I heard they're gonna be announcing a mission today, after practice," Violet smiled.
I almost spit out the waffles I was trying to eat.
"Really! That's fantastic! I hope I'm a part of it!" I said, over excited.
"Finally we have a chance to actually use the skills we've learned in training!" Violet grinned.
"Soldiers please report to your training stations immediately," an overhead speaker announce.
I grinned as I stood up to throw my food away. Today would be a good day.
As I walked towards the training facility I saw a shadow behind me, then an arm was draped across my shoulders.
"Sup Grace," smiled Ronnie.
"I'm feeling happier than usual. You?" I smiled back.
"Nothing much. Just wishing I could skip training!" He laughed. I laughed with him.
"Me too Ronnie...me too."
Our training centers were close to each other, so we often walked together to training.
"You're looking better!" Grinned Ronnie, "you don't look so much like a toothpick!"
"Was that a compliment I heard there Ronnie?" I smiled.
"It wasn't a very good one," he laughed.
"Nope but it passes for you asshole!" I laughed.
"Not fair!" He laughed, then started tickling me.
"NO!!!!! MERCY! MERCY!" I squealed as I laughed so hard my insides hurt.
He quit tickling me. "Well we better go to training now, don't want to be late!" He grinned.
"Bye Ronnie!" To my surprise I kissed him on the cheek.
A stupid grin spread across his face. "See you later Grace," he said as I skipped off.
I entered the training room.
"You're late Grace," Andy mumbled.
"I'm sorry," I said, my happiness disappearing instantly.
"Just...start running laps with the others."
"Okay," I I said, jogging off.

I left the training room after what seemed to be much longer than a couple hours.
Luckily I didn't go through too much trouble this time. I didn't even have to talk to Andy directly today.
My mood instantly brightened when I felt someone's arm around my shoulders again.
"Hi again Ronnie," I smiled.
"Hello Grace," he grinned.
He was staring at me again.
"So Grace there's a party tonight over at the club," he smiled.
"And?" I asked, slightly flirting with my voice.
"I was wondering if you'd like to be my date."
I sort of saw it coming. I mean, he is constantly talking to me. My mind drifted to what Andy would think but I immediately brought my thoughts back. Screw you Andy you rejected me. I can do whatever the hell I want.
"Yeah, I'd like that," I said.
Ronnie looked slightly relieved, as if he didn't expect me to say yes.
"Cool! I'll come to your room at 7:00 then?" He asked.
"Works for me," I shrugged. My happiness was back.
"Alrighty then! See you tonight!" He said before walking off.
I grinned, then began walking.
Soon enough a smirking Amy was standing in front of me.
"Sooo," she began.
"Yeah Ronnie asked me out," I smiled.
"THAT'S GREAT YOU GUYS WILL BE SO CUTE TOGETHER!!" She squealed. She was probably only happy because I was finally getting over Andy.
"Thanks!" I said.
"Ashley Purdy asked me out," she grinned, " who would've thought?"
I suppressed a laugh she really was clueless.
"So what did you say?" I laughed.
"I said yes, although I'm going to be careful with him. He's trouble!"
"Okay."
We walked together towards the elevator then suddenly an voice came over the overhead speaker.
"Soldiers, please stop what you are doing and listen," we stopped walking.
"Twenty soldiers will be selected for a classified mission," the speaker announced. "The twenty selected will report to the main council room every day after training, and will receive further instructions from there."
"We shall now proceed with the names of the soldiers selected."
I struggled to listen.
The first name announced was mine.
"I didn't expect that..." I said but my heart was racing. Finally! A chance to actually do something!
Some I recognized were, Kellin Quinn, Vic Fuentes, Amy, Jayy Von Monroe, Chris Motionless, and Frank Iero. All the rest were people I had never met.
The last person announced was Andy.
Great. Just great.
"WE ARE ON A MISSION TOGETHER!!!" Amy squealed as she hugged me. I hugged back, only able to think that this was going to be interesting.
Very interesting.
