Fallen Angel

Summary

The room was dark, and the sound of silence rang dead in the small confining room. The stale air had long since settled on the walls and seemed like it had not been disturbed for hours--such a humanly concept he knew, for time did not exist in this place. No, he was in heaven. But it was a dark corner of heaven that was only ever seen by those who have committed a terrible sin in the land of eternity. As he slowly blinked his weary eyes open, he reached up to wipe the sweat that dripped from his forehead, but his arm was restrained by what felted like a shackle locked around his wrist. When he moved his other hand, he heard the scratchy metallic sound of chains rolling across the cold, stone floor. He could not recall how he had gotten in the dark chamber, but he had an idea for why. After all, there was only ever one: Banishment.

and that starts the beginning of the story....
