This Is The Story Of The Wild One.

Traditions.

(July 24, 2011,
9.00 PM [It's 9 PM because of time difference, in NYC it would be 6 PM])

Once the plane landed we all piled off, I was re-united with my bag, then the 3 of us headed outside of the airport and got in a fancy looking car. Nothing really eventful happened.

"How long is the drive to your place?" I asked when we just turned out of the airport parking lot.
"It's hard to tell with L.A traffic but at this time of the night, not very long." Ashley replied from the drivers seat.
Ashley was driving, I was in the right back seat and Andy sat on the left one in the back too, which I found weird as I would of thought he would sit in the front with Ashley but whatever.

The car journey was about 2 hours, I wasn't to sure as I slept for most of it and was only awake for 15 minuets at the end.
But while I was awake I noticed how wrong I was about my thoughts on New York and how it was the dullest city in the world. At least there was some street art around the place and a few brightly coloured buildings. Here on the other hand? Nope. It's boring. No colour in site. No street art, no nothing. It was kind of depressing of how bland it was. Well.. I'll soon change that.

When the car stopped and Ashley announced we were here I looked out of my window and had to do a double take. The house was fucking huge..it was 3 stories high! Jesus Christ..
"Oi." Andy knocked from outside the car, making me switch back to reality, "Are you just going to drool over the house or actually get out of the car?"
I rolled my eyes at him, grabbing my bag from under my seat before opening the car door and slamming it behind me. Ashley and Andy started making their way to the front door and I trailed along behind them, still not over the fact that I would be living in a house this goddamn big.
"At least it'll be super easy to get out without anyone knowing.." I muttered to myself.
"What was that?" Ashley asked while unlocking the front door.
"Uh. Nothing." I said a little too fast
"Uhuh."
After a minute of Ashley fumbling with the keys he finally got the door unlocked, Ashley walking inside first, me after and then Andy followed behind me. It was pitch black in the house, so someone, not sure who though turned on the main lights and I almost had a fucking heart attack.

"Holy shit." I gasped.
"You like it?" Purdy asked me from the other side of the room.
"Yeah."
I assumed we were in the main room of the house because there was a massive TV which had 2 couches and 1 lounge chair surrounding it. There was also a big stereo system at the back of the room. Next to the door there was a stand where leather jackets hung.
I stood there for a moment, examining the rest room. I noticed empty beer cans dotted about the place and there was a massive DVD collection is the corner of the room. Attached to the room was a fancy-pancy kitchen with a huge breakfast bar and about 1000 cabinets filled with lord knows what.
This was different to what I expected, I thought I would be living in another shit hole. Well they proved me wrong there. But that wont stop from me being a bitch to them. I had decided I would hold off until tomorrow night to be the complete Wild Child I am since I was jet lagged and everything. But tonight I decided to go out when everyone is asleep and go explore the place a little bit.

"So how many of you live here again?" I asked just after Ashley took me on a tour of the house, we were back in the sitting room now (the room we first entered into).
"There's 5." Ashley replied. He was sitting on the couch, taking off his shoes. I was sitting at the breakfast bar unsure of what to do and Andy was upstairs, I think?
"Okay, so where's everyone else then?"
"Still visiting family and stuff since this is our time off before we go back on tour, you'll meet everyone else tomorrow night."
"Oh ok." I muttered.
I still had no idea what to do.. In case you haven't gathered I'm not very good in social situations at all. I may be able to scream and yell at strangers but I'm not very good at having a regular conversation with them. I think it was just because I hadn't actually had a regular conversation with someone (aside from my dad and a few friends) since I was a little girl.
I sighed to myself and just started fiddling with the elephant ring the sat on my right index finger.

"I have a question." I deep voice suddenly said right behind me. So suddenly that it almost made me jump. Almost.
I swivelled the bar stool that I was sitting on around and saw Andy make-upless in batman pyjama pants and a batman shirt. Wow fanboy much?
"And what is that question?" I raised an eyebrow at him as he took a seat in the barstool next to me.
"Why do your hands look like a fucking rainbow and also look like you've punched a wall?"
"Because I do alot of art and the paint I use stains my skin."
"And the punched the wall thing?" He narrowed his eyes at me.
"Because maybe I did" I said, looking back down at my hands.
"Why was this?" He asked sounding concerned.
"Reasons..." I muttered.
"And what reasons are these?" Ashley butted in, getting up from the couch and coming over to the breakfast bar. Oh great, now we have him in the conversation.
"Reasons that have nothing to do with you." I groaned, getting very frustrated and angry extremely fast.
"Oh come on Max, you may as well tell us." Andy begged.
"No."
"Why not?" Ashley said.
"Because I said so." I grumbled, trying my hardest not to lose my temper.
"Tell us." He pleaded.
"Yeah, pleaseee" Andy joined in.
"No. Anyway I need to go unpack my shit. Where is my room?" I asked Ashley. Even though he gave me a tour of the house he never told me which was my room.
"Uh.. Up the stairs, last door on the left hand side. My room is opposite yours and Andy is to your right. The first door in your room is a full bathroom and the second door is a closet you can hang your shit." Ashley explained.
"Oh and come back down after you're done unpacking because we're having a BATMAN MARATHON." Andy shouted with way to much excitement. I looked over at Ashley, giving him look and he just shrugged his shoulders and said,
"He's obsessed with Batman.."
I rolled my eyes and hopped off the stool, walked over to the front door and collected my bag, then went over to the stairs that were further down in the house. I climbed the stairs and once at the top I shamefully had to hold up my hands in shapes of 'L's to find out which was the left hand side. Yep, 15 years old and still don't know my lefts and rights. Don't judge.
Once I figured out which side was the left I walked down the hall until I came across the final door. I opened it up to reveal a pretty bland but nice room.

There was a huge double bed in the right hand corner of the room and what looked like fairy lights weaved in and out of the bed posts. In the opposite side of the room there was a really expensive looking easel with multiple blank canvases stacked up behind it. Hidden underneath the canvas there were some acrylic paints and paint brushes. To the left of where I was standing there was a beautiful wooden vanity-desk that had a mirror on it and a matching stool tucked away under the desk. And as Ashley said there were two doors that were a light wood colour in the room, they were both on the left, one being in the middle of the wall and the other being at the end of the wall.
I was a really nice room, it really was. But that still doesn't mean I'm not going to be my Wild Child self, nice try though.

I unpacked everything pretty quickly considering I didn't have much to unpack. My clothes took less then half of the closet space I had. I had put all my jewellery on the vanity-desk as well as make-up. I didn't bring many art supplies because they weigh a tonne and would have taken up way to much room in my bag but the few that I had I put on the floor right next to my easel. Finally I had my shoebox that was filled with all my secrets and private stuff hidden way under my bed.

Once I unpacked everything I changed into one of my old shirts that I got from a charity shop a year ago and I also threw on some Batman pyjama pants (they weren't the same as what Andy was wearing). I also put on my regular amount of rings. I hadn't been wearing my rings these past few weeks as I have been having to climb buildings and such for my street art stuff and I didn't want to damage any of them. But since I wasn't doing anything tonight I stuck them all on. There was a meaning on why I wore so many rings, it was a family tradition and even though I'm not one to follow a tradition, especially not family ones, I do do this one.

Once I was all changed I left my room, went back down the stairs and into the sitting room where Andy and Ashley were. They were sitting on the same couch, watching TV silently. I decided to sit on the single chair as I've spent the last 6 hours next to them two I don't really want to spend more time then I have too.

"So how do you like your room?" Ashley asked me not taking his eyes off the TV.
"It's nice. But is it okay if I paint on the walls?" Why I asked him, I don't know. I would normally just do it. But whatever.
"Yeah you can do whatever you like to the walls. Oh and also me and Andy are going to take you shopping tomorrow to get some stuff for your room. And assuming since that the size of the bag you brought you're going to want some more clothes?" Ashley said, finally making eye contact with me.
"Yeah I will.. Also why is there an easel in my room?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Your dad told me you liked painting and drawing, I had one I don't use so I just put it in your room."
"Oh ok." I replied while scratching my nose, when I did Ash's eyes widened, "What?"
"You do it too?" His eyes got so wide I swear they were about to pop out.
"Do what?"
"T-The rings, you do it to?" He repeated.
"Oh you mean them? Yes I do, do you?" I asked.
He held up both his hands and I counted about 5 rings in total on his hands.
"Wait what's so special about your rings?" Andy chimed in, confused.
"Right," I sighed, "Basically it's a Destiny and I guess a Purdy family tradition to wear rings on your fingers. It's also tradition to give rings as gifts for Christmas and Birthdays .ect. It symbolises love and all that crap."
"Oh is that why you throw such a hissy fit when people make fun of your ridiculous amounts of jewellery then Ashley?" Andy asked, turning to Ashley with a smirk on his face.
"I don't throw a hissy fit!" Ashley retorted, "At least I don't spend two hours on my ha- You know what? I'm not even getting into this again."
Andy rolled his eyes at him, he then got off the couch and went over to the TV opposite him.
"Anyway, Max do you want to watch Batman?" He asked and I heard Ashley groan.
"Please say no." Ash begged.
Just because Ashley didn't want me too, I said yes, even though I didn't want to watch a film I've already seen 1,000 times. I could probably quote the whole movie if I wanted to. It didn't matter which one it was.
Andy smiled at me, stuck his tounge out at Ashley and then set up the DVD player. Once he had the title screen up Andy returned to his spot on the couch and pressed play.

"Right, I'm going to bed." I announced standing up as the credits finally rolled onto the screen.
"Night." Andy and Ashley said in sync.
I said nothing in reply, all I did was walk over to the stair case and go up them, after I was in the hallway upstairs I made my way into my room.

When I got inside my room I smirked to myself. I wasn't actually going to bed, I was just going to get ready for tonight. Tonight's plans were to get more art supplies, alcohol and some cigarettes.
I walked over to my closet and picked out some clothes. I chose out a shirt I made a while back, some plain denim shorts and the most expensive thing I own, my Jeffrey Campel sandal platforms. Dad bought them for me a few days ago, he told me he didn't need much money so he bought them since I had been drooling over them for the past year and a half. I also picked out my old Batman shoulder bag. Once again another gift from dad, but he got it for free as he worked at DC and so he gets a bunch of merch for free or really cheap.

Once I was all done and changed I moved over to my desk and started on my regular amount of heavy eye makeup and red lipstick. After that I doubled checked all my piercings still had the jewellery in them and I also took out my contacts because I hated leaving them in for long periods of time. I instead put on my glasses. I had really bad eye sight, all my contacts had prescriptions in them.
Finally I was now ready to go, but couldn't leave yet since Ashley and Andy were still down stairs I figured I may as well get a little bit of sleep, so I laid down on my soft new bed and shut my eyes.
