I built these walls to watch them crumbling down

2

A few days....a few days my ass! It’s been ten days since Control left me hanging here. Each hour that has passed signaled by the incredible clanging of the town center bell which, as a child, I was in love with, but now just signifies another hour I am still breathing when I would rather not be. My shoulders had long since popped out of their joints, the skin all around them had turn a horrible dark purple color because of bruising. Yet, I still hang here. I’m almost positive he is actually back, just leaving me here for his own agenda. I take a chance and close my eyes, concentrating on happier times in my life, though few, to escape my reality only to be startled back from an explosion like sounding bang as the door to my cell is thrown open, at least sixteen hooded figures swoop into the room, each dragging along a captured wild one as they enter, quickly hoisting them all along the rafters by their wrists much like myself. I watch is disgust as they do this, one girl, maybe eleven years old crying for her mother loudly as the hunter gives her hair a hard tug, sending her frail body smashing to the floor where she cries loudly as her wrists are secured by cuffs and she is hoisted into the air, off of the floor by her wrists. William Control saunters into the room, a self satisfied smirk etched into his lips as he slows his step, his black cloak which was billowing about his feet, barely rusting the air around him as he pulled off his perfectly tailored black leather gloves, looking around the room.

“You are a sick son of a bitch,” I mutter as he looks over my body, a smirk playing on his thin lips as he slowly walks towards me.

“F.E.A.R is all knowing, all powerful. I am the God this world needs,” he announces as he steps right up in front of me, resting his hand on the inside of my bare thigh, just above my knee, his warm skin like fire against my ice cold flesh. “You are here because you or somebody you love disobeyed F.E.A.R. I will not tolerate rebellious behavior. This is Carrington, her sister and parents betrayed F.E.A.R by harbouring Wild Ones and helping them escape, as well as her sister fleeing the compound four years ago. She is an example of pure guilt. She did nothing to stop her family from betraying F.E.A.R and for that she must be punished!” He exclaims, pulling downwards on my leg hard, causing my dislocated shoulders to jolt, a hiss of pain leaving my lips immediately as I lean my head back, looking at the ceiling as I try to block out the pain. “You have all been told since birth not to disobey F.E.A.R! Now you must all suffer the consequences! Jace, set the shower,” he seethes as the young girl, barely out of childhood, cries harder. Control storms out of the room, slamming the door behind him as one of the hooded figures steps forward as another one lowers the temperature, goosebumps erupting over my naked flesh.

“Oh no,” I whisper as I hear the familiar ‘tink’ ‘tink’ ‘tink’ of water dropping to the ground, slowly at first and then getting more and more frequent until ice cold water is pouring over all of our bodies, almost as if we are standing under a high pressure hose, pelting ice cubes against the exposed skin. In almost no time, one by one, the other prisoners start screaming in pain from the cold water pounding their skin. Each drop feeling like a thousand daggers smashing against our bodies, all the exposed skin going instantly bright red as our bodies tried to fight against the sudden temperature issue. I clench my jaw tightly, holding back my own screams of pain, knowing that it will only get worse. I focus all of my energy on the hooded figures standing, completely dry, against the door.

It is then that I notice one of the figures that had walked in late, standing, head down, clearly trembling and avoiding watching what was happening, their arms crossed along their chest. Finally the figure looks up, I gasp in shock as I see the man’s face. His skin is pale, save for the dark black paint like circles surrounding his eyes, three black lines on his cheeks. His cheekbones high and angular as his brown eyes connect with mine. This man is not one of F.E.A.R’s minions. He is a Wild One! And by the looks of the marks on his face, he is one of the head rebels. The coldness of the water finally cuts through my shock and I groan loudly in pain as I am brought back to focus on the pain with a loud yelp as it feel like the water is slicing through my sensitive skin.

This torture continues until the other screams fade off to nothing, the oldest of the prisoners is no longer breathing, probably killed by this. My entire body shudders in the cold as the hooded figures pull down the body of the old man, letting him slam to the floor. All of the hooded people leave, except the guy with the marks on his face, he stands back against the wall as if he is invisible, as if the other figures have no idea he ever exists. He hangs around for a little while after the others leave, the door slamming closed behind them before he approaches me. “Carrington?” he whispers, standing at my feet as my body trembles uncontrollably from the horribly cold torture. “Carrington Holmes?”

The sound of my last name on his lips startles me, my head shooting up quickly, causing pain to shoot through my entire body, particularly my shoulders. “H...h...how d..do y...you kn...know my na...name?” I stutter out, my bottom lip quivering painfully, my entire body feeling like it is being slowly stabbed by pins and needles.

“I’m Ashley,” he says as he quickly looks around the room. “I’m one of the leaders of the Wild Ones. And I am dating your sister, Cadence.”

“Oh God,” I whisper, warm tears slipping down my ice cold cheeks, feeling like burning water the whole time. “Cadence...”

“She’s safe,” he states quickly. “She wanted to come back for you but couldn’t. She is safe back at the camp. She doesn’t know I’m here. I had heard rumours that you were alive and being held here. I just needed the proof before we could stage our attack. I will get you out of here Carrington, even if it is the last thing that I ever do.”

“If you try, it very well could be the last thing that you ever do,” I whisper out through clenched teeth, trying to keep my teeth from chattering.

“I’ve been in this camp undercover for almost a month and they haven’t figured me out yet, hell they don’t even know that I exist, only other Wild Ones that are here have been able to see me...like yourself,” he smirks.

“Huh?”

“ Jin...I mean the Mystic has the ability to mask my identity to any who wish me or my people harm,” he explains. “He worked his magic before I left to help me blend in. What the shadows and the rest of F.E.A.R is another empty soul shadow with nothing to lose and everything to gain from conquering the rebellion. And, what makes this little trick even cooler, not one single person is able to see the same image. For some I’m a woman, others a man, etcetera. The only ones that can see my true face are fellow Wild Ones who never plan to turn on myself or my people,” he explains.

“That’s crazy,” I whisper, feeling my eyelids getting heavy.

“Go ahead and sleep Carrington, I am going to get you to safety but for now, you’re going to need your rest to survive until you are rescued.”

“Thanks Ashley,” I say with a nod as black slowly slips into my sight until I lose consciousness.

Also, here is news corner

Thursday, October 3rd, 2013 at 12:34pm my cousin and his wife gave birth to their beautiful daughter, Gemma Therese. 8 lbs 4 ozs.

Unfortunately, she is not doing too well. She is having seizures that are stopping both her heart and her breathing and we don't know if she is going to make it. I just got home from seeing her and I am personally an emotional, stressed wreck on legs.

shit sucks, but i still love you all
