Ch. 1: Knock Out
I was blinded. The stage lights shined in my eyes like the rays of the sun. I gripped the microphone harder. I sighed and walked slowly up to the edge of the stage. The crowd came into view. My eyes widened at the enormous crowd of people who were here. I took a deep breath and looked beside me. He walked upon the stage. His angel, blue eyes caught my eye and he smiled with a wink. He ran his hand through his hair as he took his microphone and put it to his lips. He opened his mouth...
“Jade! Get your ass up. It’s past noon.” I heard my mom yelling from the kitchen. I groaned and rubbed my eyes. I looked at the clock on my desk. 12:45pm. Wow, I've slept half of this day away already. “Was that all a dream?” I whispered to myself. I guess so, but it felt so real. I got up stretching as I looked at my phone. I already had 6 texts. My best friend, Pandora was blowing up my phone. Dora: Jade! Text me back. I got tickets to Warped Tour. My mouth dropped. Did she really get tickets? Me: Seriously? How? When? What? How?! My inner fan girl was going crazy inside me. My phone vibrated. Dora: My cousin gave me two tickets for my birthday. It’s in Tampa July 26. Me: Oh, shit we gotta go. Let me talk my mom into letting me go. I’ll talk to you later. I walked out of my room. “Mommy, I love you.” I cooed to her. “What do you want, Jade?” I looked down, trying to control myself from freaking out. “Pandora got tickets to go to Warped Tour, on July 26. Please, can I go with her?” My mom looked at me and shook her head. “Just ya’ll?” I nodded. “I guess so. But I can trust you to stay out of trouble?” I laughed, “Yes, I promise.” I pulled out my phone. Me: I can go! :D Dora: Yayyy!
*A week later*
Pandora and I couldn't wait to leave. I spent the night at her house. We got up early, took showers and straighten our hair. We put on our makeup. We had to make sure everything was perfect for meeting our favorite band, Black Veil Brides. I put our bags in the back of Pandora’s car as she hugged her mom. “Be careful and call me when you get to the hotel.” Pandora nodded as I got into the car. She walked to the driver door and opened it as we said in unison, “Bye, Mommy.” She started the car as I plugged in my IPod. Fallen Angels came through the speakers. We sung along with Andy as we headed toward Tampa.
*A hour later*
We arrived at the hotel a few hours before the gates of Warped Tour was supposed to open. Pandora called her mom to tell her we had made it. I waited a minute before getting out, stretching. I opened the back door of the car and grabbed our bags. Pandora hung up with her mom as she locked the doors. I looked at my phone. No calls or texts. Hmm, that is weird my mom should be blowing up my phone by now. We walked through the hotel doors as I called my mom. Pandora got our room key when my mom finally answered. “Mom, we made it. I thought you should know.” “Okay. Be careful. Don’t get pregnant. Remember I trust you to make the right decisions.” I rolled my eyes, “Yeah, yeah. Alright mom we need to get settled in the room.” I hit the elevator button to the fifth floor. “Okay baby girl, remember you and Dora get one free out of jail pass.” I laugh, “Okay mom. Love you.” “Love you too.” I hung up the phone as the elevator dinged. Pandora looked at me, walking out of the elevator first. “So let me guess she said she’s only gonna get us out of jail once and don’t get pregnant.” I nodded laughing. We walked down the hallway talking about how excited we were about Warped Tour. We couldn't wait to meet Black Veil Brides, especially Andy and Ashley. We finally reached our door; I put the key in the lock. All of a sudden, we heard fast moving footsteps behind us. We turned around to see a shirtless man running toward us. OUTLAW was tattooed across his stomach. Oh my god, it was Ashley Purdy. “Hey babes, have you seen a guy with longish black hair, with a bandanna on running around here?” I looked over at Pandora. Her mouth was slightly opened and she had the ‘I’m so in love’ look in her eyes. “No, I’m sorry.” I said hitting her lightly in the ribs with my elbow. She snapped out of it, looking at the ground blushing. “Thanks.” He said taking off running again. Pandora looked up when he finally disappeared down the stairs. I opened the door as Pandora stuttered out, “Jade, I’m not crazy am I? That was him? I’m not dead, right, because I've just seen my angel.” I laughed, “No that was really Ashley. You’re not dead.” She squealed. Oh lord. Here we go. Pandora was having a crazed fan girl moment. I set our bags down on my bed as she laid on hers still freaking out. “I’m on cloud 9 right now.” I laughed, “Isn't this a dream come true?” Pandora nodded, “It is, girl. Never in a million years would I think we would be meeting, Black Veil Brides. Oh my god and running into Ashley in the hallway.” She squealed again. I smiled, “Come on girl. We should go get food before we go to Warped Tour.” She smiled as she got up, “Yes, I’m hungry!” “When are you not hungry?” I said grabbing the keys to the room laughing. “Shh, don’t tell anyone! I’m secretly a fat girl.” She said bring her finger to her lips. I rolled my eyes and giggled, “Come on, weirdo.” I opened the door walking out. Pandora skipped out the door, leaning on the ledge of the building looking down at the parking lot. “Hey, look there’s Ashley.” She said pointing at the shirtless stud. “Is that CC?” I asked looking down. Ashley was running full speed after a shirtless CC who was yelling his famous, “Shake, Shake, Shake.” Pandora and I looked at each other laughing. “CC! We have to get ready for the show. Come on!” Ash yelled at him, bending over catching his breath. Pandora and I walked toward the elevators still laughing. We got in hitting the first floor button. “He’s so hot.” Pandora sighed. “Dora, stop thinking Purdy about Purdy!” She giggled, “I can’t help it. He’s so fine!” I rolled my eyes, “Of course, your dream man is the man whore of the group.” She shrugged her shoulders, “I like a challenge. Besides, you can’t be talking look at your dream guy!” I looked at her, “What? There’s nothing wrong with Andy. He’s perfect.” The elevator dinged and the doors opened. “Yeah there is. He’s a freaking giant.” I laughed as we walked out of the elevator. I started walking backwards so I could face her. “You’re just jealous, my friend.” I stuck my tongue out at her. “Of his beautiful blue angel eyes, of course I am!” She said smiling. “He’s mine!” I said as I turned around and started skipping to the car. “And Ashley is mi-“ Pandora was cut off. “WATCH OUT, CC!” I heard Ashley’s voice yell. I turned around to see CC running straight at me. SLAM! “Are you okay?” I heard CC say and then I was out.
