You Saved Me

Just Another Sunday Morning

Jayy's POV: Well, I'll be damned. Micro told me we'd see some major changes in her soon, and I have to say I already have in a positive way. She seems happier, more outgoing, but what gets me the most is how she's still that broken girl I picked up at the orphanage, yet has been able to put most of that behind her now. She focuses on the future rather than what could have been, and it's amazing to me she's been able to without anything backfireing.
"Today will be sunny, with a chance of homicide!" I hear from behind me, and when I turn to see who it is, though I already know, I see my little sister.
"Morning, Micro," I say, smiling and rolling my eyes at her, as she bounds down the stairs, dancing slightly to a song in her head, that we can't hear.
"Morning, Katie! We'll do your hair after breakfast like I said yesterday," Dahvie says, passing me a plate to put in front of Micro.
"Thanks," she says, then says it to me too, as I place the plate in front of her.
"No problem," I tell her, walking back and grabbing a glass for her, setting it and the orange juice in front of her.
"Where's my Jeffree?" she asked.
Ever since Jeffree and her met, they've become really, really close. If he wasn't gay, I would be afraid that he would go after my sister, but they're actually more like siblings.
"Had to go back home last night, but said he'd be here on Thrusday and is staying until Monday, so he can help us make you into the most beautiful young woman at that party," I tell her.
"Oh, alright," she says, sounding saddened by this.
"You really like Jeffree, don't you?" Dahvie asked her.
"Of course! He's awesome! Plus, Jeffree's been teaching me a few things," she says.
"Oh? Like what?" I ask, almost afraid to know what our good friend might be teaching my little sister.
She swallows the eggs she had been chewing and says, "How to not be afraid of being yourself. Snappy comebacks to people who are talking shit about you. Stuff like that."
Oh, if that's all, then that's alright, I think as I sit with her and Dahvie at the breakfast bar.
"That's good. I can tell it's working for you," Dahvie says.
"Yeah, so keep up the good work, Micro," I tell her.
"Thanks, and I will," she says, smiling at us.
Micro's a good person with a shitty past, but I believe she's getting better. She seems to be anyway. I mean, when we first brought her home, you would have sworn the girl had never known what happiness was, but now, she really is happy.
She's got great friends, awesome family, if I don't say so myself, a man who loves her for her, and everything she could ever want. She's going to be just fine, I think.
Katie's POV: After breakfast, as promised, Dahvie drags me to my bedroom, tossing the tshirt he threw at me yesterday to me, and again, once the bathroom door closes, I slip into the shirt. I then open my balcony doors again, and walk into the bathroom, sitting in the chair before he can tell me to.
"Which red do you think we should do?" Dahvie asked, showing me two different shades of red.
"I like the brighter red," I tell him, pointing at it.
"Knew you would," he says, putting the darker one under the sink, where it belongs, then readies himself to color my hair. Once he's ready, he starts on my roots, moving through my hair with expert grace and know-how.
I have to say, it's nice when I don't have to do my hair by myself sometimes, and I know I can trust my epic brother to do it right, so I pop in my earbuds, and blast my MP3 in my ears, humming with the violin as it plays a soothing melody, building to a loud and beautiful symphony of flutes, basses, cellos, and violins, at the climax, then softening back out to just the violin.
"What ya listening to?" Dahvie asked, pulling one of my earbuds out.
"Mozart," I tell him.
"Not my cup of tea, but cool," he says, "You're done, just need to wait about 30 minutes, then you can shower and wash it out. Just make sure you use the color-stay shampoo and conditioner."
I nod, and say, "Alright, I will. Thanks again, bro."
"Anytime, little sis," he says, and walks from the bathroom.
I follow him into my bedroom, then sit at my desk and work on some research I've been meaning to do for colleges to go to. I promised Jayy I would at least look into it, and think about it, but I wasn't going to promise I would actually go to college.
I mean, what could I really do anyway? It's not like I'm interested in anything but music, but then again, this is LA. The music capitol of the world in my opinion. There's music on every corner here, for those willing to listen to it.
I look at a few different colleges in the area, and decide that I'll go to LARS for Audio engineering, that is, if I'm accepted. They seem to be the most logical, but LAMA puts up a hell of an arguement with their Vocal Artist Developement program. Who knows where I'll go?
I put in requests for applications to each and more information, then check the time and head into the bathroom to wash the dye from my hair and wash up for the day.
After I'm done, I wipe off the mirror then dry off, and walk out to my bedroom. I get dressed quickly, then head into the bathroom again to do my makeup and dry and style my hair. When I'm done, I smirk at my hair, looking at it from a couple different angels, then head out of my room, downstairs and throwing myself into Dahvie's arms.
"Thank you!" I shout at him, making him and Jayy laugh.
"You're welcome, kiddo," Dahvie says, "Ashley called and asked you to go down to the studio. They want your opinion on their album."
"Alright," I say, hugging Jayy and then say, "Oh! And in a couple days, I'll be expecting some stuff from LARS and LAMA, so let me know when it comes, please and thank you!"
"Those are two really good colleges," Jayy muses, "And we will. Thank you for actually keeping your promise on that."
"No problem," I say, shrugging on my vest and walking out to my car.
