You Saved Me

Ashley's POV: The guys and I are sitting in the studio deciding which songs will be on our new album, which ones won't, and what order we want them in to portray the story Andy came up with for this.
"I definitely want I Am Bulletproof somewhere in the beginning," Andy says.
"Track one is Exordium, so why not put I Am Bulletproof as track two? They seem to merge nicely," Jinxx says.
"Yeah. That sounds good," Andy says, nodding slightly, then looking through his notes again, "One of the Wild Ones in the story I wrote, dies early on, so put New Years Day as track three."
"Done," John says, messing with his computer, "And track four?"
"Can you play Devil's Choir real quick?" Andy asked, and John presses a few buttons. A moment later the song fills the room, but halfway through Andy says, "No. That's not right. Hmm..."
"How about the title track?" I offer.
"Yeah. Why not?" Andy says, "Can you play that?"
Again John messes with the computer, and moments later Wretched and Divine is playing over the speakers. Andy and I look at each other, then to CC, Jinxx, and Jake who all nod in agreement.
"Yeah, do that," Andy say, and John moves the audio file to the correct place.
"What next?" John asked.
"May I?" I ask Andy, holding my hand out for the book. He nods, then passes it to me, and I riffle through the contents of the notebook. As I read, I say, "It almost sounds to me like We Don't Belong and Devil's Chior should be next."
"Do it," Andy tells John, as I pass the book back to him.
As John does his thing, there's a small knock on the door, then Sammi Doll walks in, followed by Ella, Juliet, Lauren, and finally Katie.
"Hey," I say to Katie, opening my arms to her, and she happily sits on my lap. I smile at her, wrapping my arms tight around her small frame, then ask, "How was your day so far?"
"Not bad, and yours?" she asked, wrapping her arms loosely around my neck, and resting her head on her one arm.
"Not bad, but not great either. I think I'm getting a bad case of cabin fever, being cooped up in the studio all day," I tell her, jokingly, but then I feel her start to massage my shoulders and neck, and I melt into her touch. I close my eyes and groan, "Mmm, don't stop that."
I hear her giggle at me, but I don't care if she's laughing at me right now. This feels like heaven, and I think I might have to ask her to do this for me more often. It's that, or gently scratching my head, cause damn if that's not heaven too.
"Would you like to hear it so far?" John asked Andy, causing me to open one eye to see, he has Juliet sitting next to him on the sofa.
"Please," Andy says, nodding slightly.
A few moments pass before music fills my ears, then I hear Andy's voice over say, "The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you. Not in a mansion of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood, and God is there. Lift a stone, and you will find God," then it instantly falls into the intro to I Am Bulletproof.
"What song is it, baby?" I whisper to Katie, trying to stump her in the game we started playing after she told me she can guess almost any song from the first few notes.
"I Am Bulletproof," she whispers back, and my eyes fly open to hers. How the fuck does she do that? The albums not been released yet, and it's not like we're always playing it when she's around, so just...How?!
"She's good," Jinxx whispers to me, making Katie and Sammi Doll laugh.
A few minutes pass, and the next track begins playing. I arch an eyebrow at her, and she whispers, "New Years Day."
"Damn it," I murmur.
"What are you two doing?" Andy asked me.
"Playing a game," Katie says.
"She says she can guess almost any song from the first few notes, so I've been testing her," I explain further.
"Oh, really?" Andy asked, smirking and asking John to cut the music. Andy then fishes his phone from his jeans, and messes with it. A moment later a song begins to play, and he arches an eyebrow at her.
"Tornado of Souls by Megadeth, off the album Rust in Peace, which was released in the year 1990," she says, and everyone stares at her in shock.
"How the fuck?" CC asked, his mouth hanging open.
"Alright. Try this," John says, playing a song I know is the BeeGee's but don't fully reconize it yet.
"BeeGee's. New York Mining Disaster 1941 off the BeeGee's 1st album which was released in 19...umm...67!" Katie says, struggling slightly with the year, but getting it right in the end, and making John stare at her in awe.
"How did you know that?" he asked after a moment of silence.
"My dad was a huge BeeGee's fan, and I grew up on it," she says, shrugging as if it's nothing.
"But that doesn't explain the Megadeth one," Andy says.
"Have you not seen my phone and MP3 music lists?" she asked, arching an eyebrow and passing the two items to Andy, "Code for my phone is 0728. MP3 doesn't have one, obviously."
Andy looks through her phone list first and is shocked as it is. God, he's going to freak once he sees her MP3 which holds nearly 6,000 songs on it. I remember helping Dahvie pick it out for her birthday last year, and we got her a 60GB MP3, which we were told could hold about 15,000 songs, as well as pictures and videos.
"Holy shit!" he exclames when he starts looking through her MP3.
"What?" Jake asked.
"Music overload!" Andy shouts.
"Basically, I have anything from classical to heavy metal, country to techno, hip-hop to jazz, and everything in between on there," Katie explains.
"Damn, girl," CC says.
"Let me see that," Jinxx says, holding his hand out to Andy, who willingly passes him the little device. Jinxx leans back in his chair, and asked Katie if he could use her headphones, so she pulls out these huge black and pink Skullcandy headphones from her bag and passes them to Jinxx with a smirk.
We all laugh at his expression to the headphones, but he shakes his head and puts them on anyway, plugging them into the MP3. I watch as he messes with it, then closes his eyes, and sighs happily.
"What's he listening to?" I ask Sammi Doll, already guessing it's something classical.
She lifts one of the headphones off his ear, placing hers to it, then says, "Classical."
"Which one?" Katie asked, and Jinxx continues to listen, but tosses the MP3 to her. She looks at the screen and says, "Bach. Not a bad choice."
"Which one's you're favorite?" Jinxx asked.
"From Bach, I'd have to say his Cello Suite No. 1, but by anyone else, I'd have to say I love Moonlight Improvisation by Vadim Kiselev. I found it on Youtube a while back, and fell in love with it," she says.
"Very nice. Haven't heard the one byVadim Kiselev yet though," Jinxx says.
"Want me to play if for you?" she asked.
"Sure," he says, smiling at her, and wrapping his arms tight around Sammi Doll.
Katie messes with the Mp3 for a moment, then presses on the center button and I see Jinxx focus in on the the music once again. You can tell he's gotten lost in it, as he closes his eyes and his hand startes to move in a way I reconize to be when he plays piano.
When the song's over, he opens his eyes and takes the headphones off, passing them back to Katie and says, "That was beautiful. And you said it was called Moonlight Inprovisation?"
"Yep," Katie tells him, nodding and turning the MP3 off, sticking it back in her bag.
"Have we played Overture for her yet?" Jake asked.
"Overture?" Katie muses.
"I'll take that as a no," Jake says, with a laugh.
"Recorded or do you actually want to play it for her, Jinxx?" John asked.
"Just play the recording. I don't think any of the girls, but Sammi, has heard it yet," he says, and John nods, then presses a few buttons on the computer, which fills the room with the sound of Jinxx's violin.
Katie seems to get lost in the tune easily, and I see a tear run down her cheek by the end of the piece, which I swiftly wipe away. As the song comes to a close she sighs in content, and looks at me, giving me a small smile.
"So, what did you think?" Andy asked the girls.
"It's lovely," Lauren says.
"Exquisite," Ella chimes in.
"Epic," Juliet tells them with a thumbs up towards Jinxx.
"Katie?" I ask gently, realizing she still seems to be lost in her thoughts.
She visablly swallows and murmurs, "Emotional."
"Excuse me? What was that, Katie?" Jinxx asked, obviously not hearing her.
She looks at him and says louder this time, "Emotional. The emotion you put into the piece, I could feel it. To me it tells a story of a lost hope that we fear we'll never have returned to us, but then there's a change, a big change at that. Something would spark and return our hope once again, and leave us stronger than we were before."
Jinxx grins at her then says, "You understood the meaning behind each note, then. Good job."
"Thank you," she says, smiling back, "To me, each and every note in a piece like that tells me a new story. It really is beautiful, Jinxx. Please tell me that will be on the album."
"Thanks, and we certainly hope it will," he says, then John tells us we have to get back to work, but the girls can stay if they want.
