Tattooed Lovers
Katie's POV: When school let out, Rocket and I walk outside together, just talking about music we're into, and as we approach Ashley, Rocket's jaw hit dirt. Oh, right. He's a huge BVB fan. How could I forget to tell him Ashley would be picking me up? Probably because he didn't believe me when I told him I was actually dating Ash. Oh well.
"Hey, baby. How was school?" Ashley asked, walking over to a paralyzed Rocket and myself.
I smile up at him, and say, "Amazing. By the way, Ashley, this is Rocket. Rocket, meet Ashley."
"Pleasure to meet you, man," Ashley says, holding his hand out to Rocket.
Rocket visibly shakes himself out of his moment of shock, then shakes Ashley's hand and says, "Pleasure to meet you, too, man. Must say, I'm a huge fan of BVB. You guys are awesome."
"Thanks," Ashley says, then he turns to me and says, "Ready to head home, or is there something you need to do before that?"
"I actually need to hit the tattoo parlor on Sunset. I have an appointment at 4:00," I tell him.
"Alright. Well, see you sometime later, Rocket," Ashley says, then we head over to his bike, and once we have our helmets on, and my arms are around his waist, we speed off.
After a few moments pass, Ashley stops the bike in front of the tattoo parlor, and we head inside. I talk to JayJay, the guy who's done all my piercings over the years, and he takes me back into a small room. I tell him what I want, and where, and he goes to stencil it out.
"I could take care of your tattoos for you, baby. You do know that, right?" Ashley says with a smirk, as he sits in the extra chair in the room.
I shrug, then say, "Yeah, but I wanted this to be a surprise for you."
"Really? And what's the surprise?" he asked.
"Two of the three tattoos I'm getting today will match yours. The stars that travel down your back, and the Fidelity tattoo on your knuckles. The third one is on my wrists, and it's a lyric from BOTDF," I tell him.
He smiles at me in awe, then says, "Wow. So what lyric is it?"
"It's from You Are the Heart. The one that says, 'Put down the knife. Take back your life,' is what I'm going to have done," I tell him as we wait.
He nods, then says, "Awesome, baby. One day though, I want to tattoo you. Got it?"
"Got it," I say, then JayJay returns.
"Which one do you want to start with?" he asked.
"The stars, please," I reply.
He tells me how to lay on the bed, then sets the stencil where it belongs, and gets everything ready. A short time passes, then he gives me the warning, and sets to work.
It doesn't really hurt, except when the needles grazes over my spine, and I wince slightly. Ashley notices this, and takes my hand in his, holding it, and giving it a gentle squeeze. I
smile up at him, and he smiles back at me.
"Would you like to see it?" JayJay asked me when he's done with the last star.
"Yes, please," I reply, and sit up, holding my shirt to my chest.
Ashley winks at me, then removes his shirt, and shows me his back, then JayJay sets a mirror behind me, and holds another in front of me. I look at my tattoo, then to Ashley's and smile. It's perfect.
I thank JayJay, then he asked which one I want next. I tell him to do my knuckles, and he sets to work. When he's done, Ashley folds his hands to show me his, and I fold mine to compare them. The only difference is the color of the tattoo. Ashley's is done in red and black, while mine is done in blue and black.
JayJay finally does my wrist tattoos, in a beautiful font I found called Unnamed Melody, when I was checking out fonts on Google a couple weeks ago. When he finishes this one, he shows them to me, then bandages them, and tells me how to take care of them, although I already know, due to the tattoo Dahvie, Jayy, and I all share.
I thank JayJay again, then pay for them, and Ashley and I head out to the bike again. He asked if there was anywhere else I wanted to go before heading home, and I think about it for a moment. No where I can think of, other than the beach. I kind of want to do my homework there today.
I tell Ashley this, and he smiles, then we head down Sunset, to the beach.
