As he had said, Zane left for Alabama as soon as his stab wound on his back had healed. Well, partially healed I mean.
"Zane, are you sure about this?" I asked him before he stepped out the door. My voice was drowning in concern and worry for my brother.
He sighed and laid his bags down on the steps, knowing he had a lot of reassuring to do. "Sis, I'm old enough to where I can look after myself; anyways, I've got Vick and the gang to help out. Believe me, I will be alright. Dad's gonna be proud of all of us for looking for the---ehh...Whatever the maps will lead us to. Who knows, it might not even be there. But at least we're putting the effort into it." I gave him one of my trademark smiles, and the big bear hug that always makes him blush from embarrassment. "I'll be back whenever I get back. Mom wont be back for a few weeks, so like I promised, I'll leave you enough money to last you an eternity."
Before grabbing his belongings, he turned around to face me again. "Ya know, Black Veil Brides will be in town in two days. Treat yourself for once, now would you please, and go and have fucking fun. I know they mean a lot to you." I looked down at the ground, Twirled my hair, and let out an involuntary giggle.
"Yeah." Is all I said. "Maybe Ivory & Jane would want to come along. I didn't find out about the band until they introduced me to their music in the first place. Without them, I wouldn't even know they exist, so I guess they deserve to be there with me." Zane nodded and winked at me before finally lugging his bags away to the Taxi that pulled up a few seconds beforehand,calling back to me, "I'll see you soon, Shauna! Be back in a blink of an eye, I'm going to make Dad proud."
