Addison pulled her car into park in the high school parking lot and waited for her brother to come out. It was strange, school let out 10 minutes ago, and almost all the kids are already gone. She waited, turning up the radio and began to sing.

"And we cant stoooop, and we wooonntt stooop!"

She turned the music down as she saw Tristen walking with his head down towards the car. He looked like he was limping slighty. He got to the car and didnt say anything to her, and kept his face away, which worried her.

"Tristen are you okay"

"Yes" His voice cracked

"Let me see your face"

"Its fine"

"No, look at me" She said sternly. He slowely turned towards her. He had a dried stain of a trickle of blood running out of his black and blue nose, and bruise right above his eyebrow.

"Oh my god. Who did this to you!?"

"Nobody it doesnt matter"

"yes it does. Im taking you to the hospital, your nose could be broken!"

"No! Its fine!"

"No sweetie, your not fine" She had tears coming to her eyes now, who would treat her brother like this? Shes going to get those kids who did this. She sped angrily out of the parking lot and weaved through traffic to the nearest hospital, and went to the Accident and Emergency entrance.

"Hello, Im worried that Tristen has a broken nose, can you look at it?"

"Of course, whats his full name?"

"Tristen Turrall"

"Age?"

"13"

"And your family?"

"Yes im his sister"

"Where are your parents?"

"They are in Pennsylvania, he lives here with me"

"Okay, come on back Tristen" She finished writing things down on her clipboard and motioned for them to follow them, which they did, They sat in the room for a while, Addison in a chair on the side, Tristen sitting on the bed thingy. The doctor came in loudly and walked up to Tristen

"Hey son, how are ya" Tristen just shrugged his shoulders and looked at the floor.

"So whats going on today"

"I think Tristen broke his nose" Addison said

"Okay lets take a look here then" The doctor put on some gloves and felt his nose while Tristen hissed in pain.

"Yup its definately broken, what happened?"

"uh... I.... fell down the stairs" Tristen said quickly. Thankfully, the doctor didnt question any further, but went over to the cabinet and took out a little hammer, and Addison could see Tristen tense up.

"What are you doing with that?"

"In order to put your broken nose back in place, we have to break it again"

"Your serious, right!?" Addison was alarmed, oh my god that sounded painful

"Do you have to?!" Tristen sounded almost paniced

"No, but your nose will be strangely shaped for the rest of your life"

Tristen took a deep breath, "Fine, do it fast" He balled up his fist, the doctor came over and placed his fingers on his nose with the hammer positioned next to it.

"Ready?"

"Ready"

The doctor struck it a few times, and more blood came out of it. Tristen hissed in pain more and more with each strike. Finally he put the hammer down and they heard a snap as the nose went back into place.

"Are you done?" Tristen asked

"I just need to hold the bridge still so it doesnt move back"

He let it go after a few minutes, but it didnt hurt any less, it just hurt more.

"When is it going to stop hurting?"

"This will help" He put a white strip over the bridge of his nose, and turned to me and handed me a bottle of pills and a package with more of the white strips "Have him take these tablets, 2 a day total. one with breakfast, one at night around dinnertime. These strips help too when it hurts"

"Thank you"

"Your welcome"

Addison and Tristen walked out of the hospital and to the car and drove right home.
