Caramel Macchiato

Dreamy Abyss

It took me around fifteen minutes in the shower and I pondered the whole time if he had thought of me in the shower, the way I thought of him… I was wondering what it would be like to shower with Andy sometime. We had already bathed together in Mexico City…surely a shower wouldn’t be much different. Other than the fact we’d…see one another completely exposed.

I got out of the shower and gazed into the large vanity mirror… I was so naked now. For the last six days I had worn make-up around Andy, I had done my best to look prim and proper for him even if I’d only had like two baths in that length of time…I understood you couldn’t bathe every day out on tour.

Now I was fresh out of a nice hot shower, was going to put on some cute pajamas, and didn’t even think about applying makeup at this time of late night/early morning. All I was thinking about was food, sleep, and Andy of course. I ran a brush through my hair after blow drying it with the one sitting on his vanity, I was sure it’d be okay to use it…or at least I hoped. Then I put on my pajamas and walked out of the bathroom after fixing everything to make it look like I’d really never even been in there.

I put my dirty clothes, the ones I’d just come out of, into my duffel bag in the bedroom and then found my way back to the living room, seeing Andy laying on the couch. “Lazy bum,” I teased and sat down at the edge of the couch, then laying down right beside of him. “I think my last few days justify me being a lazy bum in my own house,” he chuckled, teasing of course I could tell. “You smell so good,” Andy purred and pulled me closer to him, I nuzzled into his body and laughed.

“You have such a fascination with my strawberry shampoo don’t you?” I questioned and he nodded his head a bit, nuzzling it into my neck. “I really do; it’s the freshest smell, it’s intoxicating,” he mumbled and I could feel his lip ring against the flesh on my neck. I squirmed just a little in his arms.

“I like that…” I let out the quietest of moans and could feel his lips stretch into a smirk against my skin. “Not like I couldn’t tell, with the squirming,” he chuckled and his hot breath hit my skin. “Andy…” I whimpered his name when he began to properly kiss at my neck, it felt so incredibly good. I couldn’t hold back anymore…we couldn’t do this and not end up sleeping together tonight. It was feeling too good to tell him to stop.

“Y…you’re making it…so hard to say no,” I murmured and felt his hands roaming my lower back, getting lower and lower… I knew if he groped my ass, I would probably drag him up off that couch by his hair and drag him to the bedroom right then and there, so I was very glad that the doorbell went right as his hands were almost on my ass.

“Food,” I questioned him and he nodded, chuckling a bit. “They have great timing don’t they?” Andy complained just a bit as he got up off of the couch after I’d risen up. He grabbed up his wallet and answered the door, paying for the food and taking it, tipping the man as well.

“So, what’d we get this late hour?” I asked and then the smell hit me. “Oh God, Chinese,” I rubbed over my stomach and my mouth was starting to salivate. “Dig right in. I ordered enough for an army probably,” Andy said with a grin as he placed the containers down on the coffee table. He disappeared into the kitchen as I was opening containers, seeing what each one was.

He came back a moment later with eating utensils, plates, and of course drinks. “Everything looks so good,” I said as he handed me a plate. I dipped with a large spoon some sesame chicken, rice noodles, and a couple other things onto a plate. I also grabbed a few of the egg rolls and packets of soy sauce.

“I was hoping you liked Chinese,” Andy chuckled as he dipped a plate for himself as well. “I can’t imagine people disliking Chinese food. They’re inhuman,” I teased and ate a few bites, then taking a drink of the cold Cola Andy had brought from the fridge. “I think I’m rather cultural when it comes to food…I really like everything,” Andy admitted and I nodded my head.

“I’m the same way. I’ll try anything at least once…there’s not a lot of food out there that I can say ‘ew, I don’t like that’ about. Honestly, I think food is one of the biggest reasons, aside from just being with you, that I’m excited to keep touring with you and the band—go to different cities I’ve never been and get to try some of their local cuisine.” I took another few bites and let the warm food slide down my throat.

This Chinese was probably the best food I’d eaten since leaving home. Sure, we’d stopped for some food out on the road and the meals Andy and I had at the hotel in Mexico were to die for…but there was just something about this meal that felt very special. Maybe it was because I was home with Andy—in his home at least, a home that I very much hoped would someday be mine and his, together…

“To me…that’s one of the greatest answers, ever. Because that shows me that you aren’t just into touring because ‘oh my God Black Veil Brides’ like some fan-girl,” he admitted while softly laughing. “I think I’ve proved to you since moment one that I’m not just some fan-girl. I may have started out a fan, and I’ll always adore your music but it’s bigger than that now…it’s more than that,” I honestly replied.

“I can’t even look at you now like the rock-star I have a poster of in my bedroom; we know each other on too much of an intimate level now,” I admitted and finished my first plate of food. For the first time in the six days I’d been around Andy, I lit up a cigarette after my meal, taking a long drag.

“It’s nice to know that you have a poster of me in your room,” said Mr. Arrogance sitting right beside of me. “I had no idea you smoked, though,” he said with a chuckle, still eating his last few bites of an egg roll. “I don’t very often but that great of a meal, it deserves one afterwards. I’m more of a social smoker… There were tons of moments on the bus that I wanted to smoke but just didn’t; I was afraid it would put you off to me…”

I thumped my ashes into the ashtray on the coffee table, gazing over at Andy as I did so. “I should have known it wouldn’t, because obviously you’re a smoker too—even though if I recall correctly, you tried stopping?” I questioned and he nodded his head after finishing his food. “Juliet and I both did for a while. She held out a lot longer than I did—I caved while out on that tour, which she understood. She kept her streak going and caved while having a drink out with friends one night.”

It was interesting to hear Andy tell the full story on his experience on trying to quit smoking. I remembered seeing that picture of him in Germany in a hotel room, saying he just couldn’t stave-off the cravings any longer… That picture had been so delicious-looking.

“I don’t think there’s anything about you, that could put me off, Livvy,” he said in a soft voice and I blushed, shaking my head. I had honestly forgotten about this part of the conversation. “Impossible. Something will one day… it’ll be the same with me towards you… something will, but… no matter what it is, I wouldn’t leave you over it.” I watched as Andy lit himself up a smoke and I was just about finished with my own. I was already thinking about what food I wanted to put on my second plate. He hadn’t been kidding when he said he had bought enough to feed an entire army.

Then again, I could imagine that his and my appetites were probably enough for an army right now. “I got to have a little more,” I said softly and snubbed out my cigarette and fixed another small plate, along with another egg roll and soy sauce. “You and me both,” said Andy as he filled up a second plate while smoking his cigarette.

“This food is really kicking in my tired though,” I mumbled after swallowing some of the rice noodles, this time mixed with this other meat mixture. I wasn’t quite sure what it was, but Andy seemed to really like it. I dare say it must be his favorite the way he had loads of it on his plate.

“Mine too, Liv. We’ll go straight to bed after this… sleep until noon or so and then find out about a flight to Louisville. Sound good?” Andy questioned and I nodded my head. I was honestly getting so tired that I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to give him a proper answer; I think that showed because as soon as we were finished eating, he stood up and started putting leftovers in the fridge and toning down the lights in the house.

“Oh, fortune cookies!” I exclaimed and looked in the bag, happy to find a couple of them. I pulled out one for myself, handing him the bag to do the very same. I opened the plastic package and broke the cookie in half, removing the fortune.

“Now is the time to pursue that love interest,” my fortune said. I couldn’t help but to giggle, “How appropriate is that?” I questioned and Andy let out a cackle. “Very,” he replied and dug around in the bag for a fortune cookie of his own.

After it was opened, he read his aloud: “Your happiness is before you, not behind you! Cherish it,” I couldn’t help but to grin those words as he read them. “Talk about fate,” I said quietly and ate the fortune cookie I held in my hands. I laid the fortune down on the coffee table, taking a sip of my soda before standing up and starting to walk towards the bedroom.

I was so exhausted, I could hardly make my legs work. I crawled up into the large bed and pulled some covers over myself. I heard Andy’s footsteps throughout the house, the bedroom was getting darker and darker. After a few moments, I felt his body slip beneath the covers with me and I smiled a bit larger.

“I don’t know if I’ve ever gotten such eerily accurate fortunes from Chinese fortune cookies before,” he admitted and I giggled, nodding my head. “I’ve had some funny ones before, but never such accurate, serious ones…” I agreed.

“I hope I’m that love interest you want to pursue,” Andy said as he shut off the lamp right beside the bed and curled up properly with me in the bed. I nuzzled my body closer to his and nodded my head. “Who else would there be? CC?” I teased him of course and he chuckled, running his fingers up through my dark hair. “You tease but, I could see y’all together… I could see you with anyone you wanted; because I know you could have them… you’re a very lovable person, even by the toughest of hearts.”

I blushed at the words Andy was speaking, but deep in my heart: I knew they were true. Andy was a very tough heart, an old soul that had such a wall up…but here I was, in his arms. I had broken the impenetrable fort so to speak, as had Juliet before me, and Scout before her. Maybe the third time was going to be his charm?

“Your fortune, though, Andy,” I mumbled, almost getting too tired to even think properly, much less formulate words. “Cherish what you have right now… instead of dwelling on what’s done and over with,” my voice was almost gone as I was already drifting to sleep within his arms.

“Trust me; I’m cherishing every bit of this, Livvy. The wound is still fresh but I promise you, one day, I’ll be able to look towards the future with no thought of the past,” those were the last words I heard, his hand was the last thing I felt, rubbing over my hip before I fell off into that dreamy abyss.
