The Dragons Love
Surprise!!!
It was the night of my bid debut as the symphonies youngest solo violinist ever. I was wearing a black dress with a tightly fitted bodice and a sweetheart neckline that flared into a ruffle skirt at the hips and stopped just above my knees. I had black wedge heels and my long white hair was curled into ringlets and pulled back into silver jeweled combs. My makeup was simple but dark and elegant. My violin was freshly cleaned, polished, and tuned. Everything was perfect. So why did I feel so hollow and empty you may ask?
Because I wanted my family here. But unfortunately Warped started tomorrow and they had to be ready for that. They told me the first venue was in California so there was no way they could make it to my show. I knew they were cheering for me though. I had just left the practice room and was making my way towards the stage when I heard whispering.
"Guys come on. They go on stage in twenty minutes. If we don't find her by then the surprise is ruined." A familiar male voice said. My heart stopped and then tarted beating in double time as I got closer to te voices.
"So help me Cc. If you don't stop making us stop just so you can talk to everyone who smiles at you I am going to rip your fucking head off and not even your damn girlfriend could stop me." A familiar female voice hissed. I rounded the corner and came face to face with Sammi, Jinxx, Andy, Juliet, Jake, Ella, Cc, and Christi.
"Oh my gods! What are you all doing here? I thought you had Warped tomorrow in Cali!" I said while simultaneously throwing myself into the best group hug I've ever had. I pulled back and they explained how they tricked me and their plan to surprise me. When they finished I was so happy I couldn't stop smiling. And then I realized something. "Where's Ashley?" I asked looking around for him. Sammi grinned.
"How long until you need to be on stage?" She asked.
"Ten minutes." I said. And then I was picked up and thrown over Andy's shoulder. I shrieked and held my dress down over my but as I was carried down the hallway while everyone followed behind us with Jinxx carrying my violin case. After a few minutes of walking we turned into a room where I was set down and locked in. I started pounding on the door screaming at them to let me out until familiar warm hands wrapped around me from behind.
Before I could even think I melted into his touch. Like fire melts ice. I spun around and looked into the chocolate brown eyes of the man I loved. I had missed him so much more than I realized. Before either of us could think we were kissing. Hot and passionate. Searing. Scorching. Kisses. Neither of us really came up for air until someone knocked on the door which was probably a good thin as I was in the process of lifting Ashley's nice black dress shirt over his head.
We pulled away from eachother and I straightened my dress as Ashley tucked his shirt back in. The door opened and we walked out into the circle of people. I led them to side stage and told them they could watch the concert from there. One of the techies came up and tried to tell them to leave but I silenced her with a look. "These people are my family. Please accommodate their wishes. They will be watching my show from side stage tonight." I said coldly. She nodded and swallowed.
"Sorry Miss Doll. Have a great concert if your family needs anything I will tell the staff that they are to be given it." She said before walking away. I grabbed my violin case and hugged everyone and pulled Ashley into a kiss before going out and taking my place in the violin section. I would play with them until the end of the show when I would take center stage and my debut would be announced and I would play my solo piece.
I was already pretty conspicuous anyways. All of the other musicians were wearing white and they had tried to make me do the same but I simply pointed to my hair laughed and told them it would never happen.
We got to the end of the concert and the lights blacked out before opening up in what they called Fantasy lighting. It's basically blue with tinted reds that look pink to give everything and ethereal feel. This was my cue. I stood up and made my way to center stage. I stood there silently as the conductor faced the crowd smiling. "Ladies and gentleman. It is my pleasure to introduce Miss Tora Doll. She is the newest member of our symphony but she is immensely talented. She has honored us by joining our ranks as the youngest solo violinist ever to be a part of the New York Philharmonic. Now she will preform her debut piece for you." He said before stepping back as the spotlight fell on me.
I nodded to him with a smile and them brought my violin up and started my piece. It started slow and haunting but then picked up pace and told of happiness found after sadness and heartbreak. It was a three minute piece and tonight was the best I had ever played it. When I finished people rose from their seats clapping. "Ladies and gentleman, Miss Tora Doll!" The conductor said as the curtains closed. I ran off stage into Ashley's arms. He picked me up and spun me around.
"Your amazing!" He said. I threw back my head laughing. He set me down and I got passed around the group for hugs. Everyone murmured congratulations. I was absolutely flying with happiness. We left and went out for dinner at some fancy restaraunt. I barely paid any attention to my surrounding just enjoying being with my family again. I nearly had to pry Ashley off of some poor little waiter who tried flirting with me though. Poor kid. I wonder if he will ever know how his eyebrows got singed off.
When dinner was over I brought everyone back to my apartment. We sat and talked for hours until they all decided they were tired and wanted to leave. Ashley stayed. The second the door was locked behind the last person Ashley's lips met mine. Two weeks without eachother made us crave the others body. Clothes were quickly torn off and I led him back to my bedroom. He kissed me and touched me tenderly. We savored every moment.
An hour later we lay curled into eachother as he rubbed my back and played with my hair and I traced patterns on his arms. I had missed this. Missed us. I didn't know if I could let him go again. We finally fell asleep side by side embracing eachother.
