"Lexi! Get your butt in here!" I yelled as I picked up my guitar off it's stand. A black and blonde blob tumbled inside the room and then stoond up straight. Lexi. We were in our band room on the top floor of the old orphanage building. Before Lex was brought into the system, she lived with super rich parents. The day she walked in she had her amps and bass rolling in a little cart behind her. That happened when I was 11. She was 13.
"Bout' time you got yourself in here." Cat said while she picked up her drum sticks and sat behind her drums. Cat came when I was 8 and she was 10. She had been taking drum lessons since she was 6 and has been ever since.
"You need a better perception of time." Blaze said blankly. Blaze was my first friend here. She came into the system when she was 7 and I was 4. We didn't talk until a year later when the older girls started bullying me. She saw it and instantly defended me. I've been with her through think and thin and she is like my older sister.
"Shut up guys we gotta practice! Blaze signed us up for Misconceptions!!!" Everyone cheered and we all hugged each other. Misconceptions was this huge competition where a bunch of local bands come together and compete against each other. "Ok guys, we need to write one new song for this. The poster said we had to have one original song and one cover. The competition is in 3 weeks so we need to get it together." Blaze explained to us. "I'm so excited!!!" Lexi yelled. She was generally hyper and always late for everything... Cat was definitely the quiet one but when she gets out on stage, she tears it up.
I pulled my song book off the table and grabbed my guitar. Everyone took a seat and we began the song. We usually write the songs together but we all do write songs individually. Blaze started shooting out ideas as did the rest of the girls. I sat there quietly waiting for the lyrics to come to me. I usually have to wait for my inspiration to come along first. When I came up with a base we can build off of that but today nothing.
It had been hours and we hadn't gotten any good ideas... "Guys let's just do this some other time... It's not working." Cat said. When Cat says something like that, then we stop. She doesn't speak much but she is by far the smartest out of all of us. I screamed in frustration and threw my pencil on the ground. Everyone got up but me. They walked out the door but Blaze lingered for a sec. "Hey, you coming?"
"No, I think i'm gonna write for a bit longer."
"Kay, but don't take to long. I know how you get."
I smiled at her and nodded. She smiled back and walked to where ever she was going. This room was my favorite one in the whole orphanage. I could be myself and just let loose. I sighed and started to write some new lyrics for the song. I figured that I wanted to write about kids like me. Never knew what love really is. I just wanna put some hope into their lives before it goes downhill like my did when I was left in this hell hole. I never met my parents because I was put on the doorstep of the orphanage when I was just 1 1/2 years old with a note saying my name was Raven and I was born on January 1.
I ended up writing some basic notes and lyrics. We could do the rest in the morning.

I'm pretty sure I fell asleep in our music room cus' next thing I hear is the loud, steady beat of a drum. I could see the sun shining through my eyelids. I slowly sat up and looked around. Cat was drumming along and the others were looking over my song. I yawned and said "You guys like it?" I blinked a few times and realized I was wearing the same clothes as yesterday. "I thought I told you to not get like that. You fell asleep." Blaze said. I ignored her and said "Hey guys I'm gonna go change. Be back in a flash." I ran to my room without giving them a chance to respond and changed into a new outfit. I put on bracelets to cover up my scars, brushed my hair real quick, then ran ran back to the music room. On my way I ran into the 3 bitches that always bully me.
"Hey you emo slut. Get out of our way." The first one, Lacey, said.
"Make me." I said.
"You asked for it, whore." She pushed me on the ground and kicked me. I grunted in pain but stood up anyway. Her and her posse flipped their hair and walked off. I ran back to the music room and decided not to tell them about it.
"I'm back!" I said in a sing songy voice, trying to act normal
"Hey so we were thinking on that we could do Lost it All by Black Veil Brides. We know you love them and your voice isn't as low as his, but we can alter it. We want them to know that we can do different styles." Lexi said.
"Sounds good. How bout' you and Cat work on Lost it All and me and Blaze can work on our song." I suggested. Everyone nodded and were off to work. Lexi and Cat are best at writing the music and Blaze and I are best at the lyrics.
"Wait guys." Cat said and everyone looked at her. "Today is Wednesday."
"So?" Lexi said.
"Wednesday is adoption day." Blaze remembered.
"Guys. We never even get looked at. If we do, its a nasty glare or a disgusted look. No one wants us, no one ever will. It's not gonna be any different today. Let's just keep working." I said sternly. I've been here ever since I was a baby, no one wanted me then, no one wants me now.

Cat and Lexi finished the song and we did as well. "Ok guys lets practice and then we can go get some food." The girls agreed and we grabbed out instruments. Cat tapped her drum sticks 4 times and then we began the song. Blaze started off on the guitar and I started singing at my Que.

I finished the song out of breath but said. "Awesome! Guys it turned out perfect!!!!!!!!!" I screamed and hugged everyone. "Ok, Next is Lost it All."
Cat moved over to the piano and started the song.

The band did a great job and their skills are unbelievable. Blaze was singing back up like she usually does and Lexi can play the violin. Before I even had a chance to congratulate everyone the door opened and walked in, My 5 idols. Holy shit... Did they hear that?
