Andy Dawn’s Pov

High school came and went. I made best friends that I have never let go of and made the greatest memories with them. Paige, Nikki, Jakob and I have toured with Emily’s army, which is Jakob’s older brother’s band. Alexandria and I have never been better. I love her with my entire heart; she’s my other half. I want to marry her someday. College is different and hard, but I am doing well. Alexandria and I share an apartment together near campus, and we both have jobs to pay for rent. I barley ask my dad for money, it’s something I absolutely hate doing. Being an adult now, I have to support my self and my partner because my dad won’t always be able to support us.

Alexandria is beautiful. Her long black hair, which she has, now dyed a pale purple, is gorgeous. We are able to finish each other’s statements and know how each one of us is feeling. The first two years of our relationship was hard, we had just started college and were then transferring to a four-year. Two years later, we were graduating from college together. My dad was beyond proud of us. He was so proud that he had given me the camaro. Alex looks so perfect in the passenger seat while I drive.

At the end of college, we had gotten tattoos. On our wrists, we had a small batman logo with our college graduation date on it. That was the first of many tattoos. Alex now has a cherry blossom tree tattooed on her side, two guns and roses around them on her hips that point down, and a skeleton in her ear. I have a tattoo dedicated to my mom; it has her name, birth date and her death date and is on my rip cage. What makes that tattoo the most special tattoo I have is, that my dad did it for me. I also have a four-leaf clover that says “lucky” right underneath it on my other wrist. There is also a small black heart one the side of my wrist, much like the one my dad has.

Alex made me feel so special and so amazing. When I was lost and confused, she made everything so crystal clear. When I was freaking out, she made everything better and calmed me. When I wanted to cry, she made me smile. I was beyond lucky to be marrying her. Anyone could have had her, but I have her. Calling her mine is the greatest thing I have ever done. Things in the past were bad, but they got better and Alex is proof of that.

Having my dad in my life is something that I never thought that I would have. I am glad I have him. He has done so much for our family and for me. He was there for me when I needed him most, and was patient. He loved me when I had said those hurtful hateful things to him. I could have not asked for a better dad. I miss my mom so very much but I know she is with me in my heart and is watching over me.

Life was an interesting thing and I am very glad that my suicide attempt several years ago was not successful. Because, if it had been, I would not be marrying the beautiful girl in my arms.

I Andrea Dawn Coleman Purdy am proud to be who I am. My family is incredible and my Fiancée is everything I could have ever imagined. When I don’t know what I need, she knows. She is everything to me. The girl, who lost her mother and did not know her dad, found her dad and got a chance at a life that she had so desperately wanted.
