Once Upon A Tragedy
Mommy or Daddy?
It has been a month since we stayed at the hotel. We have a week left of the tour, and I’m really sad about that, but at least it will be easier taking care of Laila once we are off the road.
We still haven’t told anyone about her. We don’t even know if we ever will. There would obviously be a lot of conflict about it, with people judging and such.
I was laying in my bunk, trying to take in all the memories to store in my brain. I decided to get up, as I hadn’t in probably three hours. I walked to the living room to see everyone sitting in a circle around Laila on the floor. When I say everyone I mean Black Veil Brides and my band. Sammi Doll was also sitting there.
She had joined us about a week ago, since her tour just finished. We became really great friends. I remember the first day she was here.
It was a normal day for me. I was utterly exhausted from lack of sleep. I knew I looked like shit, but of course all the guys just told me otherwise. I had spent the morning cuddling with Andy in his bunk. It was probably around noon when I felt the bus stop, probably at a gas station or something. I felt the bus shake as everyone got off, deciding to follow their lead, I got off as well. I needed some junk food. I was the last one back on the bus. I walked up the steps to hear Laila giggling happily, I couldn’t see her as there was a female body in the way, with crimson red hair. I looked to Jinxx, confused, since he had this look I had never seen on him before; I thought he could give me some answers. He met my gaze and then looked back to mystery female and gestured towards me with a smile. I finally saw Laila as mystery girl handed her to him. She turned around and I recognized her as Sammi, Jinxx’s wife, only having seen her in pictures. I had no time to react as she got a Cheshire grin and got up and ran at me. Giving out a little shriek as she enveloped me in a tight hug that only girls can give (you know what I’m talking about). “You must be Andy’s love! It’s so nice to meet you, Kaelyn!” She yelled in a girly fashion as she started rocking me back and forth. I was so in shock right now, seeing as all the guys could see my face, they started laughing. Finally snapping out of it, I responded, “Well I guess that would be me.” I said with a small laugh. She suddenly pulled back and put her hands on my shoulders as she took in my appearance. “Oh my, you look like you need a girls day!” She said as she twirled me around. She suddenly turned on the guys, “Have you guys not been helping Kaelyn with Laila?” She asked accusingly, pointing at them with squinted eyes. All I remember after that was being dragged off to a spa.
“What are you guys doing?” I asked suspiciously, as I watched them all, turning my attention to Laila to see just how much she has grown since she came into our lives three months ago, Making her six months old.
“Trying to get her to talk!” I heard CC yell.
“Umm, ok, but don’t you think that is more of a job for me and Andy?” I asked getting a little peeved, that is something for the parents to experience, not everyone else.
“See? I told you guys.” I heard Andy say as he came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. I jumped a little, not having noticed that Andy wasn’t in the little circle.
“Ok, fine, just ruin our fun.” I heard my guys say in sync. God, that is creepy.
“You guys have got to stop doing that.” I said as I rolled my eyes and walked forward to pick Laila up.
I brought her back to her room, as we had deemed it. Andy followed me. I sat on the couch and sat Laila on my lap facing me. Andy sat right next to me, putting his arm around my shoulder. I leaned into him.
“So, Laila, did they teach you anything?” I asked her playfully, only to get a confused look from her.
“I assumed that.” I said, laughing lightly.
“Laila, baby, say daddy!” I heard Andy try to coax her. I looked at him unbelieving. I shook my head, this is war.
“Say mommy!” I said, looking back to her. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Andy look at me.
“Oh, it is on now girlfriend!” He said deeply, with so much calmness in his tone, it was scary.
“Say mommy!” I said again to Laila, ignoring Andy. He really scared me.
“Say daddy!” He said after realizing that I was ignoring him.
We kept up with that for an hour, not noticing that everyone was crowded outside the door, apparently because we had gotten loud. They had also started taking bets on who would win.
“Say mommy,” I was begging now, getting tired of this.
“Say daddy,” Andy said firmly, he still had it going for him, I don’t know how he did that.
“Say mommy,” I said, noticing that Laila had started falling asleep.
“Say daddy,” I heard Andy say with a sigh as she fell asleep.
I sighed as well, getting up to put her to bed. The movement waking her up a little.
I laid her down in her bassinet, that Sammi had decided to repaint to have a vintage worn look.
I took a step back as Andy came up beside me, I leaned into him as we watched her. She was looking at us with a sleepy look, slowly giving in.
“Mommy,” I heard her mumble as she finally fell asleep. I gasped quietly.
I smiled as I turned to Andy with a winning look in my eyes. He looked at me with defeat splayed all across his face.
“I won! Pay up boys!” I heard Sammi say with a laugh. I laughed too as we walked out to see the defeat on the guys faces as they handed money over to Sammi.
I started tearing up a bit, my baby girl called me mommy for the first time.
“Hey, what’s wrong babe?” I heard Andy ask as he wiped away the tears on my face. I hadn’t even known I was actually crying.
Everyone had turned to watch, once they heard Andy say that.
I smiled a bit with a laugh, causing more tears to fall.
“I’m just so happy! I can’t believe she called me mommy,” I said as I buried my face in his chest, embarrassed.
“Hey, I would be like that too!” I heard Sammi say as she hugged me from behind.
“Us too!” I heard the rest of the guys say as I was engulfed in the biggest group hug I have ever seen.
