Our Time Has Come
Wow.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The man that stood before me asked if I was lost. "Yeah, um, I need to get to the big stage in less than..." I checked the time on my phone, "technically five minutes if I want to have time to finish getting ready..." "So you're the Green Barons lead singer! I recognize you now!" He said with a wink. Holly crap Ashley fucking Purdy knows who I am! "Here, come with me." He said.
As we walked to the stage, I told him about the guys, how we formed the band, how we worked to get here. I told him that I played the piano, the guitar and a bit of bass, but not much. "Maybe I can show you one day" he said. Oh my god. I also told him about how I suspected the guys to have ditched me.
we finally got to the stage with three minutes to go before we had to be on stage. The guy were there so I slapped them all in the back of the head. I applied more lipstick, and fixed my eyeliner quickly. I put my phone in my bag and grabbed my mic. It was my time to shine. Here and now. We fist bumped each other, and zach got on. We started with sweet child of mine, as usual. I simply loved how it introduced all of us.
I was in the zone. I didn't pay attention to anything. I saw Michael get on stage, and counted. One. Two. Three. I ran on. "I WANT TO HEAR YOU SCREAM!" I yelled to the crowd. The screamed as I started the song. Two songs in, I looked side stage and saw Ashley was still there. I smiled and looked back, trying not to get distracted. I was in my element so it really never happened, but I could screw up.
Ashley's POV.
i watched the Green Barons play, mostly focusing on the girl. She was really pretty, with her chocolate brown hair and greenish eyes. Long eyelashes surrounded those. She was pretty funny, but so genuine. She didn't change much, on stage or off. She was friendly, and she interacted with the crowd, and the band. They played as well, if not better, than in the videos. After two songs, she looked at me and smiled. I smiled back and she quickly went back to singing. There was something with her smile, with her voice, with the way she moved... I don't know what it is, but it makes me feel... Different. Andy ran up to me.
"Where the fuck have you been!" He said, taking a swig from his beer. "I helped her get to the stage and then I stayed." I told him. I looked at her and smiled again. "You know... We could watch them as soon as you're ready." Is she the girl from the contest?" He asked. "Yeah." "So she's from here. We could ask them if they'd give us a tour of the place?" He suggested. Yup, he knew. "That sounds great! Let's get ready."
We walked back to the bus and I quickly finished getting ready, then I went back side stage. Jake and Andy were there too. I watched the entire set. Practically playing with them as they played our songs. Gotta admit, they sounded pretty badass. I looked around for some water, and my eyes fell on a backpack. I opened it to see who's it was. A map, a wallet, a phone and makeup. Wait, it's gabs! I'm pretty stupid. I took her phone and went in the contact. I named myself "Themostamazingoneofthemallthatsavedyourass" as a joke, then I typed in my number, sending myself a text to have hers. I deleted the text I sent and put everything back in its place. I found water and went back to watching them.
they played one song until they ran back. I saw the techs place a piano center stage, as gab and the violinist walked back out, wearing different clothes. They played Beth and it sounded amazing, once again. Then she ran back again, stripped off her dress and put her shirt and jacket back on. They continued for a couple more songs. Then she said "ok, so this is the last song from us, and I'm sure you're excited for the next band. So well play this, then they'll change the instruments and black veil brides are gonna play for you guys!" The crowed cheered."this song is for everyone who's been in a relationship that completely changed their view on love, and not in the best way... One, two, three, four," and they began "you give love a bad name" I wondered if that songs applied to her.
they got off stage and I congratulated them. Gab grabbed her bag and told me that she was going to cool off then shed be back to watch our set. I smiled and waved her goodbye. "Dude, you like her!" Jake said. "Yeah, that's not just the kind of girl you hump then dump. I'm pretty sure she got that clear when she sang the lat song" Andy said.
