Hollie Lilyann:













The biggest day of the year for anyone in this music scene is Warped Tour. Hollie had been counting down the days until Warped Tour for months and it was finally here. She put her hair up in a ponytail and tied it up with a bandanna to accessorize. She knew that the bandanna would not only be cute, but serve as a way to keep her bangs out of her face. Cute and convenient; it was perfect.

“No, no, no.” Hollie furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at the weather forecast on her phone.

“What’s wrong?” Her aunt asked, looking back at Hollie in the rearview mirror. Her aunt was around twenty-seven years old with nice plugs and a kick-ass septum piercing. Her aunt had been in this music scene since she was Hollie’s age. Hollie couldn’t think of anyone better to go with her to Warped.

“It says it’s supposed to rain.” Hollie frowned. She had been waiting for this day for a whole year. It couldn’t rain, it just couldn’t.

Just as Hollie announced it was supposed to rain, a few small drops of water fell from the sky and plopped onto the windshield.

“Looks like it’s actually raining now.” Her aunt observed, turning on her windshield wipers as the drops fell faster, and grew bigger.

Hollie sighed, leaning her head back against the seat and praying for the rain to pass. She wasn’t about to let the rain ruin her day.

Suddenly, a loud noise signaled from her aunt’s phone. She picked it up, reading the message on the screen quickly and then handed it off to Hollie. On the screen, it read ‘Flash flood warning’.


“Are you serious?!” Hollie groaned. “This can’t be happening. They’re not going to cancel either… God, this sucks.”

Her aunt just shrugged as she pulled off the highway. “I don’t know what to tell you. At least it won’t be sweltering.”

As they pulled into the parking lot, the rain began to let up and eventually stop. Her aunt parked the car and the two got out, heading over to the gates.

“It’s not raining anymore!” Hollie exclaimed. She grabbed her aunt’s hand and pulled her along, through the venue. “Come on! A Day To Remember is playing in ten minutes! We need to get to the stage!”

The crowd for A Day To Remember was huge. Hollie couldn’t believe how many people managed to squeeze themselves around the stage.

“Hollie, I’ll be right back!” Her aunt called to her but Hollie didn’t hear. She was too wrapped up in all the excitement.

When Hollie looked around and saw her aunt missing, she panicked, naturally. Hollie took a few deep breathes and calmed herself down. After A Day To Remember’s set, she would call her aunt and find out where she had went.

“Hey, are you here all by yourself?” Someone from behind her asked.

She turned around and saw a tall, lanky guy with jet black hair standing there. He had beautiful blue eyes and perfectly straight teeth. He had a devilish smile and leather to spare.

“I… No, I came here with my aunt but she… she sort of disappeared on me.” Hollie admitted.

“My name’s Andy.” He introduced himself, holding his hand out for her to shake. “I like your hair.” He smiled, reaching out and brushing it with his fingertips.

“I’m Hollie.” She said in return.

“Well, Hollie, would you like to watch this set with me?” He offered, holding his hand out like the guys did in cheesy movies.

“I’d love to.” She grinned, taking his hand and letting him lead her deeper into the crowd. About three songs in, a circle pit formed right near where they were standing. Hollie watched people thrashing their bodies around and letting their arms fly freely.

Not thinking, she jumped inside the circle pit, assuming it would be fun. But she froze up, not knowing what to do. Andy saw her standing there, and swooped in, scooping her up in his arms and leading her back to the outside of the pit.

“Don’t do that again.” Andy warned her, gently. “I know I just met you, but I would hate to see you get hurt.”

She was surprised at how sweet Andy was. She assumed all the guys at Warped Tour were assholes who were only looking for hot girls that liked rock music and who would be willing to sleep with them after the shows. Andy was different. He was respectful. He didn’t walk around without a shirt on, having ‘free hugs’ crudely scribbled on his chest.

When ADTR’s set was over, the two decided to walk around a bit. The next band they both wanted to see wasn’t playing any time soon, so they had a little down time. It was a nice chance for them to get to know each other better. Hollie really liked Andy. He seemed genuine.

They walked by a booth selling ‘Keep Calm and Get Naked’ t-shirts. A guy was walking around holding a few yelling “Buy one now and let someone take it off you later!”

Hollie laughed at the slogan and pointed the shirt out to Andy. “Buy one.” She dared him. “Maybe I’ll take it off you later.” She joked.

“Promise?” He said, slightly hopeful.

Hollie laughed, playfully smacking Andy’s arm. Andy made a bold move, and put his arm around her shoulders. She looked up at him briefly, before taking his hand and sliding it down to around her waist. If he was going to hold her, he was going to do it correctly.

“Ah shit.” Hollie said, taking out her phone. “It’s my mom. She’s probably wondering what’s going on.”

“Don’t answer it.” Andy stated. “This is Warped Tour. They can’t stop us from our freedom.”

Notes

As you all probably noticed, the title says "Submissions closed until further notice" Well, yes. I needed to close submissions for a bit while I catch up on my other stories. I feel bad because I've left a lot of people hanging with those. If you have already submitted to me before submissions closed, I am still working on those. I'm not accepting any new submissions until submissions are re-opened. They will be re-opened when I remove the "submissions closed" thing in the title. I'm going to focus a bit on finishing up my other stories so I can put my full attention towards this. I never expected to receive so many submissions. I only expected maybe one or two per week, not even. So this is truly amazing. I just don't want to say I'm working on submissions and then not get them to you for weeks. I want to be able to write and publish your submissions within a reasonable amount of time. I hope you all understand. If you would like a submission, hold onto it until I re-open them. They won't be closed for more than two weeks, I promise. At the end of two weeks, I will open them no matter what, if I haven't already re-opened them by then. Thank you all for understanding. It's just a lot of work for me all of a sudden. I appreciate all the support. :)
