Later that night, the band and I are hanging out with Ashley, CC, Andy and Juliet. I’m leaning up against Hunter as we watch fireworks light up the sky and from the corner of my eye, I see Andy and Juliet cuddled up together; whispering sweet nothings to each other. I just roll my eyes before getting up and walking away; I need to get away from them.

I walk towards the house where I see my dad and aunt, Ashley’s mom, sitting there talking. I sigh before plopping down next to my dad. He puts an arm around me and kisses the top of my head. “I see you and Andy are reunited.”

“You knew Andy?” My aunt questions. “Does Ashley know?”

“Nope.” I reply. “But yea, I know Andy. We actually dated briefly.”

“The bastard broke her heart.” My dad adds. “He’s basically the reason she dropped out and moved in with Ashley.”

“He was part of the reason, Dad.” I tell him. “He’s not the full reason.”

“Then what is the full reason if it’s not that little faggot breaking your heart.” He demands.

“First of all, no matter what Andy did to me; don’t ever call him a faggot!” I yell as I get up on my feet. “Second of all I moved out there because L.A sure as hell felt more like home then living with you and that ice queen you were fucking married to.” With that I steal his unopened beer and storm away; leaving him there shocked.

I plop down next to Ashley and instantly earn a worried look. “You ok?” He asks me. I just roll my eyes before opening my beer and downing half of it. He sighs before getting up and dragging me up with him. He grabs my arm and pulls me away with CC following behind. “Seriously Anna, what’s wrong?” He asks, naturally concerned. “You’ve been acting weirdly all day; especially after meeting Andy and Juliet.”

“You seriously haven’t made the connection have you?” I question with a smirk on my lips. “There is a reason why I looked at him while singing Better This Way. There is a reason why I’ve been acting weirdly around him and you haven’t put two and two together.”

“What are you getting at Annabel!?” Ashley demanded.

“Remember how you and CC kept on bothering me for my ex’s full name but I wouldn’t give it to you because I knew you would go and attack him?” Both of them nodded their heads. “I’ll give you his full name now. His name is Andrew Dennis Biersack…”

I can see Ashley’s muscles tighten. A sigh escapes my lips as I grab his arm as he starts to take off towards Andy. He whips his head and glares at me. ‘I’m not going to let you hurt him. He’s your friend and bandmate and what he did to me happened years ago.”

“He still caused you pain.” He counters. “No one fucks with my baby cousin and gets away with it.”

“Well to get to him, you’re gonna have to go through me.” I spit at him.

“Why are you still protecting him?” CC questions. “He broke your heart.”

“I caused him just as much pain as he did me.” I mutter. “Just promise me you won’t lay a finger on him. This goes to both of you.”

“We promise.” They say in unison.

“Good, now lets get back and watch the rest of the fireworks.” I say as I link arms with both of them.

We get back to where everyone is sitting and Andy looks at me. I just sigh and sit between CC and Ashley. I can feel Ashley’s muscles tighten and I know it’s taking him a lot to not turn around and punch Andy. Another sigh escapes my lips. This definitely was an interesting night…
