Ashley's P.O.V.

I walked up the stairs to the huge brick building which will be my high school for the next two and a half year and swallowed nervously. Going to a new school was always hard, I knew that because my mum and I had moved a few times and I always had to attend new schools. We had just moved to Cincinatti, Ohio and this would be the first time I would go to a school for humans and vampires together.
I walked up the corridor until I came to the principal's office. I told the secretary my name and she told me to go in.

The principal was a human lady, probably in her mid-forties. She handed me my papers and told me to go to my first class, which happened to be English.

I knocked on the door of the classroom and the teacher called me in.

"Ah, guys this is our new student, Ashley. Please be nice to him."

It was needless for her to tell me where I had to sit because the only empty seat in the class was beneath a redhaired girl, who was obviously a fertile, judging by the way she got along with listening to music during class with her combat boots laying on the desk and also by the way she looked at me, obviosly disgusted by that fact that I would have to sit anywhere near her.

I went to me seat, sitting down without looking her in the eyes. I knew better than to mess with vampires and I really didn't want to get hurt or even killed on my first day.

I noticed some of the human jocks talking, calling me names like 'faggot' or 'emo'
because of the way I dress. I was wearing black skinny jeans, black cowboy boots, a Misfits shirt and to top it all I had long, straightened black hair and I was wearing make up. I guess that made me victim number one. Great.
I sighed and tried to ignore their words and the looks they gave me, but it hurt, though.

I never fit in and I had given up on it a long time ago, though.

Soon I zoned out and didn't bother follwing the lesson anymore and just waited until the class was over.

The next subject was music, which I liked pretty much seeing as I was a fairly good bass player and I could sing quite a bit.

That feeling quckly subsided when I realized that I was the only human in a fucking class full of vampires.

I just sat around awkwardly, not daring to look up from my lap until the teacher came in, who was a vampire, too. Could this day get any worse?

Apparently it could.

"You're the new student, right?" He asked.

"Uhm, yes sir." I said, knowing that I had to call every dom sir.

"Well, I'm your music teacher, Mr. Armstrong and if you don't want to get detention or anything worse you better start doing something before I rip your worthless head off." He growled and I looked at hm, wide eyed.

I quickly grabbed my bass and started tuning it, before continueing my cover of The Misfits - Descending Angel. I didn't have to concentrate on the notes I was playing because I knew the song by heart and let my gaze wander across the room.

I noticed that I was the only one who really had to do something, seeing as the vampires students were all sitting in little groups, chatting.

About halfway through my song the teacher cleared his throat and everyone immediately shut up and looked at him.

"Today I want you to form bands and start writing your own songs. I will leave the forming of the bands to yourself and as little I want to bother you with that piece of scum here I want everyone to be in a band later." He said and of course I was meant woth 'piece of scum'.

I decided to let the vampires sort their bands out and after a good ten minutes of talking and arguing they had eventually formed four bands.

I saw a really tall and even more gorgeous dom aproaching me.
"You're gonna have to be our bass player." He said and I just nodded and followed him awkwardly.
