Taking Flight
"I want to move to LA with you," I said.
The line remained quite for a moment. "What?" he said.
"Andy, I don't want to be apart from you. The majority of our relationship we've spent apart, and I want to take this step. If you want me to, I'll move in with you. We can spend every night together, if you want so can just move there or we can have different rooms, or even -"
"I love you, Reya. Of course I want you here!" I could hear him laughing as it crackled faintly in my receiver. "I want you to move in with me. If you'd be more comfortable, we can find a different apartment since mines only a one bedroom, that way you can have your own space. I'd be more than welcome to share my bed though. You, my dear, are welcome any time."
Through the corners of my mouth, a smile broke onto my lips. I stood and held the lock to my front door. "Hold on a sec babe, I'm gonna sneak back to my room." I passed Siren, still out on the couch, and quietly entered my room. I layed down on my bed. "I really miss you."
"I miss you more than you even know, darling. I wish I was there with you, to hold you against my chest, and let my heart beat lull you to sleep like we used you. I miss the feeling of you right next to me in the bed. I really do," his voice was so low, it was intoxicating.
"I wish you could be here too, Andy. I need to sleep. But I promise I'll be there's as soon as I can. Siren misses Ashley too, so I don't think moving will be an issue. It's just going to be moving all our shit. I'm gonna take the soonest plane I can get and I'll come out to LA with you so we can set everything up, OK?"
"I can't wait to crush you in my arms again."
"Me either. I love you Andy."
"I love you more, Reya."
As I drifted off that night, I encountered a beautiful and peaceful sleep. No dreams, just rest, for the first time in awhile. As I woke around ten am, I found Siren half awake at the bar, eating cherries very slowly from a bowl. "Hey, Si. I was talking with Andy last night..."
She didn't even look up. "Really?"
"Yeah, I'm gonna go out to LA for two days. And Uhh...Andy and I are gonna move in together."
"That's nice." Her eyes were drooping. Suddenly they snapped open. "Wait what?"
"I'm moving to LA."
"So, that means I can go live with Ash now?" she said with excitement growing in her head.
"Now?"
"Yeah, we've been waiting in you and Andy to decide because I didn't want to leave you alone here! Ash and I have everything planned out already. We just need to pack, well at least for me."
"Well, fuck. I'm gonna try to get a flight this afternoon, actually. Will you be OK here for two days?"
Siren laughed, "of course I will, go have fun" I hugged her and ran to my computer, I booked the earliest flight to LA, that stopped in Dallas. Siren helped me get everything in my suitcase and a carry along. I loaded them in the car, and with a strong hug, Siren told me goodbye. I waited for my flight, and texted Andy.
Me: I'm on my way baby.
Andy: I'll be waiting for you ;)
Me: I'll text you when I drop in Dallas
Andy: I'll be waiting by the third terminal with a big hug and a crushing kiss :*
I glanced up to see the status of my flight 203: Boarding
Me: Time to load on the plane. Love you babe! Xoxo
Andy: see you soon! Love you.
I walked determined to the ramp and took my place. Eager to see my love again. As the plane took flight, so did my heart. The beating fluttered like the wings of a hummingbird as we ascended into the clouds.
