Officer Williams held my hand as we walked downstairs, to meet whoever we wanted me to. Maybe he found Jeremy? There was a guy sitting on my couch, but he stood as we walked in. "Audrey, this is your cousin Jeremy." He has jet black hair. And my father's blue eyes. Jeremy walked up to me, and rested his hands on my shoudlers. "You've grown since I last saw you..then again you were a baby." He smiled, and asked permission to hug me. I nodded, and wrapped my arms around his neck. He pulled me in as close as he could get me, and I buried my face in his neck. I felt tears slip down my cheeks, but I wasn't going to stop them. He is safe. He loves you. You're safe with him. He rubbed my hair "Shh baby it's okay. I'm here now and I won't ever let anymore harm come to you I'm going to protect you. It"s okay." He kissed my forhead, and losened his grip. He kissed my forhead, and I rested my head on his chest. He softly hummed the song Saviour, by Black Veil Brides. Sweet, he has a rad taste in music. "You ready to go home babygirl?" I nodded, and Officer Williams spoke up then. "Alright Audrey, while you're upstairs packing, Jeremy will be signing the papers to be your legal guardian, then you should be set." He smiled weakly at me. I could tell he was tired. "Um, sir, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I prefer Jinxx." No. He can't be The Mystic. My cousin can't be the Jinxx. I shook my head, and walked upstairs and started packing my bags. I did change into a pair of jeans to not look like a lazy slob. I pack 3 pairs of jeans, my sweats, my sweaters, my converse, my makeup, my phone charger, and my pillow. I take the picture of my parents off the wall,and I slip it into my bag. I let a few tears slip down my cheeks as I think about all of my memories with my parents here. I walked into their bedroom, and laid on their bed, and pressed my face in my fathers pillow, and I smelled him one last time. I slid off his and my mother's pillow case, and put them in my bag. I grabbed my dad's (and mine) guitar, and slid it into it's case and took it with me. I went into my mother's jewlery box, and took her cross necklace that she always wore, and hooked it around my neck. I took my father's watch, and hooked it around my wrist that wasn't mangled. I took their wedding photo with me, and I shut their door for the last time. I walked into the bathroom, to get my toothbrush, but I stopped. I took the bottle of my father's cologne, and my mother's perfume. I clicked off the light, and walked down the stairs. I handed Officer Williams the mixtape, and the locket. "Please don't forget what I asked for my parents." He smiled at me, "I promise you I won't. Do you want this house put on the market?" I shook my head, "When I can, I want to come back here." He nodded, and then pulled me into a tight hug, and I whispered in his ear "Thank you so much for everything, you are truly an angel, and I love you." He kissed my cheek. "I love you too sweetheart. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call." I nodded, and we walked over to Jinxx, who was standing by the door. "You ready?" I nodded, and hugged Officer Williams one last time. Jinxx took my bag, and we headed to his car, and began the drive to what was going to be my new home.

I put my earbuds in, played Saviour, but turned the volume all the way up. Tears were constantly spilling out of my eyes and down my cheeks. Jinxx would rub my back or hold my hand to console me. At one point we stopped to get gas, and he tapped on my shoulder "Do you want anything hon?" I shook my head, and he patted my arm one last time, then left to put gas in the tank. I rolled up the sleeve on my sweatshirt, to check my arms, and I saw that they were bleeding. Fuck. And it's not like I can tell Jinxx.... I pressed down on my arm through my sleeve, and felt some blood seep through. Just stay awake Audrey, and you'll be fine. Jinxx got back into the car, and started it. I didn't put my earbuds back it, rather I just sat and tried to enjoy some kind of human interaction. "What were you listening to?" I shrugged my shoulders. He chuckled, "What, you don't know?" I smiled. "No, it's just that people at school beat me up for it..and I don't want you to hate me too." He sighed, and rubbed my back. "Audrey, we're family. I'm going to love you, no matter what, I swear." He squeezed my shoulder. "You don't have to tell me, I was just curious, and trying to start a conversation." I sighed. "I was listening to Saviour, by Black Veil Brides." I looked at the floor. He smiled at me. "You like them?" I giggled. "Yeah they're my favorite band. They're pretty much all I listen to." He laughed, and gave me a mischevious smile. "Then you're in for a real treat." Oh fuck Jinxx is my fucking cousin!!!! Fuck yeah! "So, how much farther do we have left?" He looked at the GPS, and then at his watch. "About thirty minutes." I sighed and slid down into my seat, and curled into a ball. He tugged on my sweatshirt, "Jesus Christ Audrey, how are you not burning up in that swetshirt?" I shrugged. I was actually burning up, but I can't take it off. "I'm comfortable." He chuckled, "Alright hon, but I can't have you falling out on me." I laughed, "Don't worry, I'll be fine." His phone rang. "Oh can you hand me that?" I gave him his phone, and he answered it and put it on speaker, and put it in his lap. "Hey baby." "Hey babe, when will you be home?" "About 30 minutes my love." the girl on the other line sighed, "Alright. How's Audrey holdin up?" "Actually Sammi, why don't you talk to her yourslef?" He handed me the phone, "Here she is." I took it from him, confused as to what to say. "Sammi!" Jinxx yelled, "Say hi to Audrey!" The sweet voice on the other line said back "Hey babygirl, how you holdin up?" I sighed. "I'm alright I guess. Really tired, and I miss my parents." "Aww honey I'm sure you do. Well, when you get here you will definitely be getting a huge hug from me, and I will make you tea! What kind do you like?" I bit my lip, trying to think "Vanilla Chai." I smiled. "I'll put honey and milk in to for you, and it'll be perfect for you love." I laughed. "Thank you.." "It's no problem dearie! I will see you and my wonderful husband in a few minutes! Love you guys!" "Love you too." Jinxx and I said it at the same time. She hung up, and I gave Jinxx his phone back. "What do you think of Sammi?" I smiled, "I'm so in love with her she's awesome." He laughed. "I think so too." We drove around for about another 15 minutes, and then we pulled off onto a side road that led into a nice neighborhod/subdivision of the sorts. After another 10 minutes, we pulled up in front of this huge house, with 5 cars outside. "Um...is it more than just you and Sammi?" He laughed. "Did you figure it out yet?" He grinned, and grabbed my bag, and put his arm around me. "Welcome to your new home." And we walked up to the front door. Well, this is my family now, my new home...here goes nothing. And Jinxx opened the front door...
