It was already day seven of Warped Tour and Marilyn had told Sammi all about her run in with Ronnie. Sammi could see how much Ronnie's friendship made Marilyn happy so she agreed to cover for her when she went out to secretly see Ronnie. They both knew that they couldn't hang out in the venue so they agreed on a special meeting place at each venue they went to. It seemed Marilyn was spending more time with Ronnie than with Andy, but of course Andy was too busy to notice. Marilyn would meet up with Ronnie everyday. One day, her curiosity overcame her and she had to know everything possible about Ronnie.

"How did you get so strong?" Marilyn asked. "I saw you knock out that guy back in Salt Lake."

"I worked out a lot in prison." Ronnie said nonchalantly.

"P-Prison? What did you go to prison for?"

"I'd rather not talk about it but I used to do a lot of drugs. Let's just say it wasn't my fault either."

"Oh... Do you still?"

"Nope. I'm completely sober of everything. No drugs, no alcohol. I'm glad I went to prison, though. It taught me a lot. I used to be such a self-centered asshole. I'm glad I've changed."

Now Marilyn understood why Andy hated Ronnie so much. He was a druggie and an ass. Andy had only known the old Ronnie and figured that once a druggie, always a druggie. Once a jailbird, always a jailbird. Marilyn could see why he didn't want her to hang out with an ex-con, if he even was an ex-con. He even said it wasn't his fault but did Marilyn really believe him? He's such a nice guy and Marilyn just couldn't understand why Andy couldn't see what she sees in him; why Andy couldn't try to see the new Ronnie.

Marilyn and Ronnie walked along back to the venue and he could see her gradually getting tired. Out of nowhere, he scooped her up into his arms, bridal style, and carried her all the way back to the venue.

"Ronnie! What are you doing?!" She screamed and laughed at the same time. "Put me down!"

"Never!" Ronnie shouted as he started to run down the street and towards a field not to far from the venue.

"Ronnie!" Marilyn started laughing so hard, her stomach hurt and tears started rolling down her cheeks.

"Oh god, why are you crying?"

Marilyn tried to explain but she couldn't stop laughing long enough to get the words out but Ronnie figured out pretty quick that they were just tears from laughing too hard. She jumped out of his arms and fell on the soft grass. Ronnie followed and rolled onto the grass next to her. At first they lay there staring up at the sky but then Marilyn saw what time it was and told Ronnie she had to get back to Andy. Ronnie stood up and helped Marilyn off the ground.

"I had a great time, Ronnie. You're an awesome friend."

The word friend sent daggers through his chest and straight into his heart. He knew she had a boyfriend, so why did he feel this way? He can't like her, he just can't.

Anyway, he thought I have no chance. She'd never go for me.

He looked deep into her silk blue eyes and realized that what he was feeling was real. He couldn't deny the fact that he did indeed like her, a lot. He couldn't stop the feeling. The feeling became overwhelming as she took his hand and gave it a quick squeeze. As if on impulse, he leaned his head down and pressed his lips to hers.
