A Handy-dandy Guide to Writing Real Person Fiction - Comments

@Red Phoenix77

You can't on this platform. Any chapter you post on this site will always become the next chapter in the story. To my knowledge, you are unable to rearrange them, and that's unlikely to change, as this site is abandoned by the designer (thus all the technical problems). If you are wanting to re-post chapters in order, you will either need to take down every chapter after the one you want to insert, then repost them after posting it, OR you could tack on the missing chapter to the end of the chapter before it, if your browser will allow chapter editing (some will not).

I'm also on Wattpad, and that platform has the capability to rearrange chapters.

Best of luck!

I see what you mean about losing chapters , one of mine has disappeared for no readily apparent reason . How do I make sure it goes back in the correct spot when I re - post it ?

Lesson five got me wet, haha! I'm a sucker for proper grammar and punctuation and the like, and while I know I should proofread my stories to ensure this I just get lazy! But yes, thank you for giving the basics!

That's a whole different kind of writing, but I'm glad you found it useful. :3

This actually has a great deal of tips for writing essays aswell.

@Merelan

you can fill in little vignettes in advance if you want, i've done it. i wrote about 13 critical chapters of NW weeks in advance, because they were so special to the story and there was so much pressure to work on them and make them fit right. it just works out better for me if i start with events, then add little ideas and specifics from there. though you're right, dude, i totally start out with random vignettes in my head and have to take a step back and connect the dots.

Just to put this out there, for new writers trying to follow the excellent suggestions put forth: outlining is a bear. A huge, greasy, mean grizzly bear that is as necessary as he is frustrating.
I keep on thinking of cool vignettes to put in, character development stuff, plus the role of the OC protagonist in all this, and the bear keeps reminding me I should only put in what is necessary to move the plot along. He doesn't want to hear my arguments of, "but I want the Brides to be actual *people*, not just the words on the back of thier W&D jackets!"
So, keep writing, keep working at it, folks. Writing *good* fanfic isn't easy, but its worth it to write the very best you can.

@Merelan

You're a sweetheart! I was actually thinking of posting the last chapter of 'The Last Oracle' some time tonight, just so that it will be done and I'll have it off of my chest. What do you think? I'm leaning in favor. :3

It's a verb: to give or apportion (something) to someone as a share or task.
"equal time was allotted to each"
synonyms: to allocate to, assign to, apportion to, distribute to, issue to, grant to

What means Allot and when you use this? I've never seen this before.

@smutty pariah
Exactly.

I know the feeling. I'm not even sure how many stories I'm in at the moment, and I make plenty of mistakes. My style is also not for everyone. To each their own, right?
