thatscalledyes's one-shot challenge!

So, I was looking through the forums and came across Sing and Celebrate Your Life's thread about a romance/smut challenge. I thought it was a great idea and I wanted to do something like that myself. I know a lot of you guys love my stories and my Requested One-shots. So I figured I would start a challenge thread as well. I see them all the time on Mibba.com where I originated, and I was always afraid of making my own because I didn't think anyone would do it. But, I feel more confident about this website and was hoping people would contribute!

Basically here is what it's about:

There are going to be 5 spots open in each category: Romance, Drama, Horror, Sexual, Comedy and Fantasy.

Because there are 5 spots, each spot is going to be given a specific band member.

Example:

1. Jinxx
2. Ashley
3. Andy
4. CC
5. Jake

If you pick slot 2, your featured band member will be Ashley. It has to be Ashley unless you want a different one and that slot is open. So let's say you don't want Ashley but you want Jinxx and slot 1 is open. Message me that you want to change your spot.

All you have to do to enter is comment below what category you would like to be entered in, and the title of your piece. I'm not going to give you specific scenarios in each category because I want this to be about you guys being creative and coming up with your own plot ideas. That's the whole point of a challenge after all.

The winner of each category will get a personal, customized banner for one of their stories, your choice of which story.

If you don't like that banner, I also do ones with the band/specific band member in them if you want.

Each one-shot has to be a minimum of 500 words but there is no limit to how long it is. Just try to keep it under 5,000.

For each category, I will have a picture of a character for you to choose from. You must pick one of those pictures to represent your character. The characters will have names, but those are optional. If you wish to name your character something else, you may. When submitting your final finished one-shot to me, the picture of the character must be included in the one-shot somewhere. If you're unsure of how to do this, message me and I'll explain.

Upon completing your story, in the author's note you must link this forum post and simply say "entered in this challenge: [url]" or "entered in this" and link it on the word "this".

To submit your finished piece to me, message me the link to your finished story.

I really hope you guys do this because I spent hours putting this together haha :)

This sounds really interesting. How long do we have to submit our one-shot? It will take me awhile to come up with an idea... Also, do you have to use all five characters, boy and girl, or can you choose one band member and one of the female characters? If you don't have to, then I'd love to enter the Fantasy one.

I started writing a Jake one-shot a few days ago but I haven't decided if it is going to have smut in it yet or be romantic but can I enter it in one when I finish?

I want to do the Jinxx slot 2 under Romance with Bella?
I don't know if I'm doing this right.
Do I have to use Bella or can I pick one of the other girls?
Do I have to write the piece before hand or now and then message you the link?

So I finished the one-shot and decided to have it be romance instead of sexual. Should I message it to you or do I post it or?...

once the spots in the category you choose is filled up (or I get more than one) I'll message you and let you know how long you have to complete it. I'll give you a few weeks so you have time.

You only have to use one boy and one girl. If you pick spot 2 in a certain category and it's let's just say Andy for example, you don't have to pick the girl in spot two. As long as the girl you want to pick is available, you can use her :)

I'll put you down in the Fantasy category! Just let me know which band member you want and I'll put you right in there!

Okay so you used Jake? Did you pick one of the girls that I listed? They don't have to be the same names that I gave them but just pick which one you like best so I can cross her off so no one else can use her as her picture. Post the one-shot and then message the link to me if you can :)

Just remember to link this forum post in the author's note and insert the picture of the girl you choose somewhere in your story (ex: summary, chapter) like I do with my requested one-shots. If you need help with that, I can guide you through it :)

Oh, no you don't have to use Bella if she's in spot two. You can pick any of the girls as long as their names aren't crossed off. Sorry I should have made that clearer! haha

You have plenty of time to write your one-shot so don't worry about a deadline just yet. I'm going to wait until more people enter to have a final deadline date. I just wanted to get this rolling first. So take your time! Once you decide that you're ready to submit it to me, then message the link to me :)

I'd like to use Jinxx and Fate as the main characters if that's alright. Also, I don't really know how to link anything on this site, so if you wouldn't mind, could you tell me how to do that?

Oh, yes, absolutely! Well, the easier way to link the story to me is to copy the url address in the top bar and then paste that into the message. Another way to link is to highlight a word using your cursor and then click on the button on the top that looks like a chain. it's to the right of the button that looks like mountains in a picture frame on the top bar of the message box (or author's note box. they're all the same) then click on insert link. copy the url address into the top bar that says URL: next to it. then click insert and you should be all set :)


if you need help with inserting the picture of Fate into your summary or first chapter, just let me know!

Could I possibly enter in the Comedy slot for Andy? Also, are we allowed to use the other band members as well?

Yep the other members can be in it! Just make sure Andy is the main focus. Which girl do you want to use?

Alright, thanks. I'll begin writing it tonight. It'll probably take awhile, though since it's a new idea and I don't want to get any of my ideas mixed up between my fanfic, this oneshot, and a play I'm supposed to be helping with. This is gonna be fun!
