I thought we were too, but ah well, these things happen, I had told her many times before that I couldn't be online all night on a regular basis as I have Joseph to think about too, especially now he's at school full time and I'm back job hunting again, at the end of the day, it's her loss, I just have to move on from it, there's better things to be worried about than so called friends who can't accept that people can't have their lives revolving around someone who they've never met, and I don't have room in my life for selfish and self centred people
After a long conversation with my boyfriend, who has seen the messages that have been sent over the past few months, and seen how this has affected me, I've come to the conclusion that I need to take myself away from this situation as it's not healthy for me, so I'll be taking myself off this site for good, and transferring all my work to my wattpad profile, if anyone wants to follow me over there, my username is also Chipmunkcalling. I have also blocked Isis from contacting me in other ways through social media, but unfortunately you can't block users on this site, which is why I am taking myself off here as I can't be doing with the stress any more.
Gemma, You're right. You are the one being immature. Stop trying to make me the bad guy. I told you numerous times that I understand your priorities. You're the one who's too stubborn and self centered to understand why I am upset with you from the beginning. YOU were the one who failed when it came to being a good friend. No matter what I say, you will never understand. How can a friend of 2+ years not be there for me when I needed you most when a mutual friend passed away.
As far as the story goes, NEVER did I say that I was going to tell others that I was the original author. And it's NOT PLAGERISM IF I WROTE IT TOO. (For those who don't know, we literally wrote at the same time using google docs and skype) So the series is equally ours.
My frustration is you caring about the story as opposed to fixing our friendship.

Im the one who tried one last time to rekindle things. Things were left quiet for awhile til she decided to make this into an issue.

I have already told you about that day, and I have explained myself more than enough for the things that have happened, like i have said, and this will be the last i say on the matter, if you want to repost the stories, please take out all the stuff i wrote, which is most of the first 2 stories, and all of my characters

If anything it would be just the first 5 chapters of the first story out of how many we BOTH wrote? That's rediculous. Get your priorities straight.
Just knock it off. You're the one reason why we can't rekindle things. You're the one saying you prioritized things SO PROVE IT by dropping this whole drama about the story. You've been on this for the past 24 hours!
I understand you guys are having a disagreement, but why would it be a problem to leave chapters as they were written, credited to whomever wrote them?
i don't think I've read the works concerned, I'm just asking, would that be a possible solution? You could continue to disagree and go your separate ways, but the stories would not then be objects of contention.

well, maybe have a soda instead of a smoke? ;) (i just quit smoking, started when i was 14 and i'm 34, it is so hard! so i'm loathe to suggest smoking to anyone, but i know what you mean. of course, now everyone is like - 'you need to drink less diet coke.' i'm like, 'dudes, give me a fucking break, at least wait until i'm done with the damned patch to get on my case.' heh-heh.) i dunno, it seems there's a great deal to this we're all not privy to. i just hope that both of them go on to be happier, wherever that may be.

The fact of the matter is that I wasn't consulted in her decision to continue the stories, not even a quick message to say summat like "look, i'm thinking about carrying on with the stories and posting the chapters we'd already worked on, do you mind?" That's what has pissed me off the most, that's why I'm angry, I come on here a week after she's made the decision to carry on, to find the authors note on the story, I bet both of you wouldn't be happy about someone using your work without being consulted in it, I honestly would have thought someone in their early 20's would know how to be courteous but apparently not.

I stand by what I said. It's fan fiction so just chill. Lol the obvious answer to me is to write something better and just disregard the matter.

I wouldn't have shared documents to begin with so there would've been a clear distinction between writing styles (but that's just my method). And you can tell me I'm not being courteous but really, chill. It's fan fiction. People just barely take this a hair more seriously than Twilight.
Plus I've seen other cons worse than this. Isis has already said "YES CHIPMUNK WROTE IT WITH ME" but hasn't blatantly said "this is all mine, nobody else has ever had their fingers on it". She's already given you more credit than Anna Todd gave to the girl who gave her the idea for After which is becoming a freaking movie. So at least ya got that going for ya.

Besides, your readers should know what's up by now and they'll care. Just don't open messages and keep writing. I'm sure they know that you were part of the works too and they're not just gonna forget you were ever there.
on a tangential note- can you even copyright 'real-person fan fiction?' (as opposed to something like fan fiction from harry potter or somesuch, based around fictional characters.) i would have thought that one couldn't? i have no idea, but if someone knows the actual answer from a legal standpoint, i'd be curious. or regarding any kind of fan fiction, really, i have no knowledge in this area.

My mom works for a book publishing company but I've never heard of it to be honest. After is only becoming a thing because Anna Todd had to change from Harry Styles' likeness and recreate a male lead.
Now I have SEEN copywrites on fan fiction but I highly doubt you can be taken to court if you steal iheartbotdfbvbandbmth's story about Mitch Lucker XD
I'm a law student and yes you can copyright anything that is your own work, there are sites that you can put your stories through to legally copyright them.

i found myself wondering that when, uh, some things I had made in my own little world (not unique, not ground-breaking, and not claiming to be well written by me either, but still I don't think seen in that sort of combo before...) started showing up often in another story by a fan of my story. it is awkward and made me pretty unhappy. I guess I should be flattered but I'm not. *sigh*
Ok, so I'm gunna be a bit immature here but I thought I'd let you all know whats going on, Isis and I have had a huge falling out over something stupidly petty which she cannot understand, which was me using my time to do uni work and spend time with my new boyfriend, I barely get any time with him as it is, and she has now deleted me from all stories in the series and is going to try passing off my work as her own. Which, understandably, I am furious about, as I worked so hard on them, and the majority of the early work was mine, and I ended up putting my uni work on the back burner, thus falling behind on it, to write with her, but then I grew up and realized I had to rethink my priorities, like not spending all night writing and not getting the time I needed to do everything else, which Isis couldn't understand, as apparently, even when studying for an important end of module exam I had to be at her beck and call to write (even the night before having to catch an early train to the exam center over an hour away). But now she has taken it upon herself to carry on with the stories, using my characters and my writing and passing it off as her own. I am aware that this is going to sound really petty too, but I just feel like I need to explain my side of things seeing as Isis blocked me before hearing me out, and didn't ask for permission to use my work. She has also refused to re write the stories as her own work, taking out my characters and any scenes that I have written, which is plagiarism and illegal.
So take from this what you will, but I am beyond upset and angry at her actions over the past couple of months.
